Building a Raised Garden Bed with Cedar Picket Fence Panels for under $30

Today, I am going to build a 3' x 6' raised garden bed using 6 cedar picket fence slabs ($3 each), one cedar 2" x 4" x 8', and about 60 two inch screws. It's a pretty simple project, and I show how to cut and assemble the pieces.

Really nice! Have you experienced any sagging in the middle from weight?

Thanks for watching... Yes as I filled the bed, the top 6 inches in the middle did bow out a bit (it's noticeable)... Easy fix... Just take a 2x4 and put it between the center posts and then screw it from the sides, should pull the middle of the bed together... I'll be posting a video with this update during my July garden tour, so watch out for that

Why couldn’t you add one more row of the pickets so you’d have a bit more height?

Thanks for watching! You could absolutely change the height of the bed by making the posts all 6 inches longer (will need another 2x4 of cedar) and 3 more fence pickets... I just opted for something shorter... Next year, I am going to make one about 12 foot long, so adding another 6 inches to make it taller might be a good idea... Thanks!
