I've played the 2nd, 3rd (that one was really choppy on an emulator) and 5th one (called Rally Evolved). The 1st one looks pretty similar to the 2nd one, which I thought was alright, but Rally Evolved is by far the best one. You get stuff happening when driving on the stage like a tree might fall down or a cow might obstruct your way. The way the cars handle is also very natural as well. It feels just as good as the latest editions. I did play on a wheel though, so if you are on controller 1st and 2nd one should feel better because you need maximum control on Rally Evolved.

This was a real golden age for video game soundtrack, this along with pro evolution soccer, Colin McRae, wipeout etc

Great memories, back in Christmas 2002 I got PS2 with this demo disc
I had demo of this game where I drove Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution as Tommi Mäkinen when I was kid.
Remember getting this game during Summer 2001 and wow it was awesome love this tune beings back so many memories ☺
Fun fact: some NPCs in the tracks are indestructible, in the Kenya tracks, for example, where there are people just randomly standing by the road.
