Oh wow! This along with THPS3 were the two first PS2 games I owned and got on Christmas morning. I love this game so much despite, in my opinion, it didn't age well when I revisited it recent yeara. That intro though...I'm overcome with a wave of childhood nostalgia and goosebumps. Thanks for the video XTG! Great as usual!
V-Rally 3 for Game boy advance was also cool but. But yeah, this one is the best ever I think.

For me, this game has the best camera/view option, especially the driver's/cockpit view among all wrc games on the ps2.

How does WRC Rally Evolved run? Is the menu still glitched?
It's weird that this game has a driver name "Ford Driver" which is supposed to be Colin McRae but due to licensing issues with Colin McRae Rally that time.
Yep, that's true. But both games are great, the WRC Evolution series is one of the most balance racing games for the PS2 exclusive (If you don't care about the graphics or gameplay).

That's just normal lens flare, but the game in an emulator has a bit of an iffy time trying to render it properly

Yeah, after another view here, it is curious how the [flare] emanates from the mountain / hillside.... Watching it again has inspired me to power up the ol PS2, box WEGA CRT TV and plug in the Logitech wheel+pedals. 👍 Forgot how good this was. At the moment, I put this and V-Rally 3 (from my ntsc-u/c point of view) near/at the top of our rally genre as wheel force-feedback and/or physics on that console-gen. These are still so satisfying. Enjoy watching the helicopter replay view especially for runs where I nail different types of drifting, hooking a ditch, Scandinavian-flicking, etc.
⏭️ Now just need to get my PS2 console setup for playing the PAL releases of Colin McRae Rally 2005, WRC 4 & Rally Evolved to enjoy them as well as and, especially, for their resurrected online play for PS2. 👍 Should be an interesting comparison to this early release and the others above.

I had to play this in japanese language bc I used to live there, and I didnt understand anything. I think I unlocked all the gameplay possibilities this game provided bc I used to press different options each time hahah now I can see what which section means. Best rally game ever!

i can't believe that how the hyundai tucson is terribly bugged on older pcsx2 versions but newer 1.7.0 pcsx2 version had it fixed permanently allowing all cars to be showed perfectly well as it should do the ps2
