  • Just because the fish are there does not mean that they are feeding. When the bite pops off, stay on it because it's not guaranteed to last long. Make sure you save some quality bait and have your rigs ready so you don't waste valuable time while they are firing. That is what makes fishing so exciting, they are so unpredictable. Make sure you know the difference between stone crabs and mud crabs so you don't get into a pinch. Get out there and be somebody!

    Fresh bait matters. Good luck out there!

    Awesome video, per usual! The way that fish looked up after you reeled up the bait made me laugh out loud…like “hey, I was going to eat that!”

    You almost had that monster!!! Took bait from his mouth that was crazy!! Easy 20 incher sick underwater video I wish there were more of these around.

      Notice how he was just tapping it and pulling at it. They weren't really interested in feeding strong until the incoming tide started to rush in.

    Always look forward to your videos and thank you for the visual of mud crabs vs stone crabs! Fishing the same waters and always wondering what is under the water makes me really enjoy the underwater footage segment of your videos! Keep em coming and tight lines!

    One of those Sheepshead looked like a double digit kind in the underwater footage. Great video, best thing to help me get over this stomach bug.

      Hope you feel better, yeah there are some BIG ones down there. They spawn near inlets in the spring so it makes sense that they should be in the area right now.

    So Krazy how they inspected your bait on the approach…just to take a little peck at it, and then they looked up as you reeled back….smart fish

    INCREDIBLE under water footage. CONGRATS on a fine day with the sheeps. Love your channel and content provided. Do you ever use sandfleas for bait? How do they compare to crabs and shrimp?

    • @offkilterfishing
      @offkilterfishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like to use boiled, frozen sandfleas, I just didn't put enough up this fall. Shrimp is better for black drum. Nothing beats fresh, live crab though.

      The bite was non-existent or just light taps for most of the day, then BAM! Feeding Frenzy. Just after the Solunar was over but the incoming tide just became strong. Not really sure why they turned on like that. These fish keep me scratching my head...

    I've been waiting for the weather and a day off to align to get there. I drove 3 hours only to arrive to winds of 10-20 knots and a strong outgoing tide. Doesn't mix so well with a kayak. Oh well, next time.

    Ran across your channel and really enjoying your content. I retired from Guilford County sheriff’s Office and moved just outside of Washington NC. Where are you getting your mud crabs from?

    • @offkilterfishing

      I collect them myself. They live under stuff below the high tide line. WEAR GLOVES.

    What's your average temperatures there in January , i see your in short sleeves, are you in southern part of NC or the northern part of SC. I'm surprised you let that stone crab go so close to where your fishing
