Looking at the rolling motion, the ends of the bridge must have been moving through an amplitude of at least ten metres. I’m sure it was a lot more violent than it looked.

I wonder why it seems to have a loll to port? When it rolls to starboard, it barely makes it to an even keel, then rolls back to port. Cargo shifted or poorly ballasted?
The angle of the ground swell to the course of the main leads gives the ships an uneven roll I would say.

There is no orchestra on a car Carrier!
Why don’t they use helicopters for pilot transfers on and off ships off the Port Phillip Bay heads like they do at other ports like Gladstone, Mackay, Bowen, Dampier and Port Hedland?
Seems to be choppers at Coal and iron ore ports only
..also Newcastle. If you watch FR24 you will see the chopper fly out, drop off the pilot and return to base.
@@alanbarkley9847 wouldn’t it make more sense to use helicopters in more dangerous ports such as traversing Melbourne’s notorious Rip? The least important consideration would be the ship’s cargo, surely!
I suspect, but I don’t know for sure , that coal and iron are happy to pay for choppers to speed up the volumes. Melb not so, but definitely seems safer than the current . Botany Bay , Brisbane also use pilot boats
