This video was amazing...thank you. Like a 3D Haynes Manual.....Don't expect you do requests but if you did I'd love to see gear linkage refurb. Thanks again, awesome video.
the reason is that I installed a new alternator with the number 37300-02551 instead of the old alternator with the number 37300-02550.thank you very much
Got a question mate. Are the two 14mm bolts that go under it two different sizes? Because i fitted mine, and the bolt on the left (when you look at the alternator) is tight as it can be, but it's sticking out lol... but on the other side it's gone all the way in? So are these two different sizes right?
So should i switch em round? the outer bolter is the longer one right? while the inner on near to the wheel is the shorter one correct?@@screwsnutsandbolts
@@xMandalorex On the alternator in the video, the outer bolt (under the belt on the wheel side) is the longer bolt. You can see the alternator mount point on that side is much thicker than the inner side. Make sure yours is the same, they could differ slighty depending on the manufacturer. Try switching them around and see if they will both tighten fully.
Thank you !. I think it's different on the K12. As far as I know the alternator doesn't move but instead there's a tensioner pulley with an adjuster bolt below the alternator and towards the front of the engine. As you loosen the bolt, the pulley relaxes the tension on the belt so you can replace it. Just double check that to be sure :)
@@pauloneill8912 Oh my mistake !, I thought you were asking about changing the belt !. Once you do take the belt off, I think there is just a couple of bolts holding the alternator in place, just like the K11 :)
My battery lights and brake lights flick on and off and this seems to happen the most when I'm driving in the rain. What may have caused it, or what should I do?

Removing the alt, is easier to replace the belt right? instead of unscrewing several engine mount bolts.
Yes it's easier to just change the belt. you can see here: th-cam.com/video/UkP90Z9k940/w-d-xo.html

Is the alternator belt a bit loose ?. if it's slipping it could cause it to heat up
@@screwsnutsandbolts i will check it ,thanks alot
Great video 👍 what's red cable on the alternator negative?
Thanks !. That's the positive lead from the battery
Thank you superb video 👍
Thank you ! :)
На генераторе к11 щётки есть, и они могут западать?
I don't know, sorry.

great video many thanks, do you know if this is the same process on the k12

I got the alternator off but I can not get it out. I heard I need to remove the radiator support??
As you can see, I didn't need to remove it but it may be different in different models.
hi i have a question, when i use the car for15 min, both belt and pulley of the alternator heats up, is that normal ??
I'm not sure, what made you check them ?
Thank you superb video 👍
You're very welcome, thanks for watching ! :)
Hi amazing video,
my alternator is just lose and needs tightening. My question is how tight should the belt be?
What year Micra is it, does it have air conditioning or power steering ?
@@screwsnutsandbolts it’s a 1999 plate and not sure about the air conditioning BUT does have the power steering!
@@bencrallan6049 As far as I can remember, it should be adjusted so you can only press down the belt midway between the pulleys about 6 to 7mm
Thank you
Thanks for watching !

That sounds like it could be an alternator problem or another electrical issue. I would take it to a garage to have it checked out
Have you checked the battery terminals? They have a tendency to get loose on the cable side!
Good video
Thanks !
Hope k12 is pretty much the same...
I think it might be a bit different. I'm not too sure
ScrewsNutsAndBolts i will check it soon as my battery is dead again... regards !
