Tracking and Observing Red Squirrels

Red squirrels are the UK’s native squirrel species. They prefer coniferous forest and feed on the pine cones and nuts which can be found there. In this short video, I hope to show a few tips and tricks on red squirrel behaviour and hopefully help you track down some squirrels for yourself!
It’s worth pointing out that red squirrels are found predominantly in the Scottish highlands and a few strongholds around the UK still. Grey squirrels are slowly pushing the reds out of their territory after being released in the 1800s. That’s a topic for a whole other video but it’s a very relevant subject at this time!
