    Is there any wireless charging receiver that will let you take off the receiver that goes into the usb type c port easily so that you can charge via cable when necessary?

    • @DigitalDavid
      @DigitalDavid  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great question! I have not come across any when I was searching to buy this one! You could technically probably position this one to do that but it would not be easy and since that ribbon cable is so delicate I could see it ending badly ha

    • @josiahstearns9615
      @josiahstearns9615 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually this product will let you do that but only if you decide to use a case to keep the coil adapter in place. Then once you want to unplug it you can do so and use the C-Port for charging, audio, or external display (if supported)
      Basically not using the adhesive will solve that issue.

  • @TomBuijs
    @TomBuijs 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey David! Thank you for your review. I was looking to buy this product.
    Can you tell me I can unplug the usb-c connector without taking the case off? Or do i need to remove the entire charging pad to plug a different cable in my phone.
    (Same pixel 2, different case though...)

    • @DigitalDavid
      @DigitalDavid  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tom! That is a good question. I have to take the case off everytime! You might barely be able to leave enough slack in it to remove without the case but I wouldn't count on it... Plus the cable is so thin and the adapter end is heavy I'd be worried it would prematurely break off/tear... I'm waiting for the day when someone designs this with a pass-through port so it can be plugged in and you can still plug another cable into it too!

    • @TomBuijs
      @TomBuijs 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DigitalDavid thank you for your answer David. i'm thinking of buying it anyway and not use the adhesive tape so I can easily take it out on the rare occasion I can't use a wireless charger somewhere. A pass-through port would be awesome but it would probably make the port quite bulky.

    I wonder will this magic tags wireless reciever with usb type C interface work for Samsung Galaxy A12 as the Galaxy A12 has a 6.5 screen a bit larger/ taller than the Samsung Galaxy A11 plus unlike the Samsung Galaxy A11 the A12 has a big bulging 4 rear cameras which makes it difficult to lay flat/ flush to a flat surface without possibly a case.

    • @DigitalDavid
      @DigitalDavid  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your question about whether the Nillkin wireless charging receiver with USB Type C interface will work for the Samsung Galaxy A12.
      Based on the product specifications, the Nillkin wireless charging receiver should be compatible with most smartphones that have a USB Type C interface, including the Samsung Galaxy A12. However, it's always a good idea to double-check the product specifications to ensure that it will work with your specific device.
      As you mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy A12 has a larger and taller screen than the Samsung Galaxy A11, as well as a bulging camera module on the back. This may make it more difficult to lay the device flat on a wireless charging pad without a case. In this case, you could consider using a case that is compatible with wireless charging, which should help to keep the phone stable on the charging pad.
      I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. cnl

      The max it's supposed to reach is 1,000 and that's sourced right from their product page on amazon.

    These cheap receivers have a tendency to cause problems. Some will overheat themselves and mine would overcharge the battery. Not recommended w/out a review that includes testing.

    No "passthrough", exactly why I won't be buying one. I don't want to have Qi charging pads all over the place, just wanted one on my nightstand. Would like to still be able to cord charge everywhere else. I'm currently searching if there is such a "passthrough" thing, if anyone knows of one, please chime in...I'd appreciate it. And thanks for the review Digital David, this is why I came here, couldn't tell by pics on Amazon.

      Have not found a pass through either but another viewer pointed me to this one on Amazon: geni.us/BWavJ have not had time to buy it yet to review it but might be the best compromise on the market today! Let me know if you find anything else!

      Yea I didn't use the sticker either. Especially if you use a case, which I think most people do. (I'm sure some don't)
      But it's much easier to work with if you don't use the adhesive and simply cover it with a case.
      I use the C-Port for audio as well and knew right away I wasn't going to use the adhesive.

    until some manufacturer raises up the speed of these wireless charging adapters they are completely useless.
    you give up your USB-C input (which sadly today it also means giving up your wired headphones input) to get a lousy 1 Amp wireless charging solution? (thats 5W)
    this is ridiculous, theres no point in doing that because with today's massive batteries 1 Amp is hardly enough to keep the battery at its current charge, let alone actually charge it to begin with...
    if these supported up to 15W wireless charging pads, these would be really great for the likes of OnePlus phones etc. but currently its just a waste of money.
    you better off just getting one of these QuickCharge 3.0/4.0 supported Magnetic charging cables instead, yeah its not wireless but if you want to save the hassle of fiddling with a cable than these are a much better solution.

    • @DigitalDavid

      Really well said! The biggest sacrifice is giving up your USB C port... When I bought this I thought it has a passthrough adapter so I could still use my dongle for headphones etc. I was also disappointed in the charging speed too! Now it is a great and easy solution if you want to add wireless charging! Since I review some many wireless chargers on my channel this is the perfect solution for me to plug into my phone for reviews... Since I use my audio dongle everyday I do not keep this adapter on my phone!

      "until some manufacturer raises up the speed of these wireless charging adapters they are completely useless."
      Bollocks. Agree with you about not wanting to permanently give up the USB port, but don't be so dramatic, 1amp is still enough current to charge even a large battery. I would wager most people just charge their phones overnight and it doesn't matter if it charges in 1 hour or 5 hours. I appreciate you might have a different use case. Most people really don't. Personally I'm looking for wireless charger as my elderly mother finds it difficult to use the micro-usb plugs and charging speed REALLY isn't an issue for her. On the odd occasion if someone might really need a fast charge, well just plug in the cable - really what's the big deal?
