It took me this disappointingly long, but I'm sorry for any misdirections and misleading info that occured because of this video.

This could have been the secondary Rival's theme since there is concept art of a female character who could have been easily be Green or if you could play as her Red would be the secondary rival since the rival you already have is Blue

Recently, this collection of prototype assets has been released. rhydon.used.surf/Red_Green_Blue_Prototype_Assets.zip It includes a little note, which I believe references this song and may explain a few things: There are channels missing because, apparently, this song was originally used during trading, with only one of the two channels playing on each of the connected gameboys. It may have been scrapped because keeping the two gameboys musically synchronized was probably difficult, when saving occurs and whatnot.
Ooh, that's awesome! Although its authenticity is still debatable I still find it really interesting nonetheless. Honestly I've never even thought of the possibility of it being the trade music - seems to be a creative way of using the link system, though would this also explain why the notes are way up high in the original? One theory I had in mind was that the sound engine wasn't finalized yet - but it's probably not the case since "Yoshi", another early game developed by Game Freak, uses almost the same engine iirc
@@Breil123 My theory is that the trade music used a special "music mode" different from the normal one to select which channel to play based on which link cable player it was, so it mostly just sounds weird from trying to play channels that don't exist in the normal music player and whatever other tweaks that would have entailed. (Maybe some synchronization data is included in some way? Doubtful...) Beyond that.. No idea.

Other than that it's built like any other song in the game, except for maybe only 2 channels instead of 3 or 4. Remember that glitch town with that ghost? It was a removed city. But for the game the city is there so it loads but glitched because there are the tiles for it but the game doesn't know where to place them because code is incomplete so that's it

This sounds like something you would hear at a Casino or Gambling House, I believe there was an idea to have a gambling aspect regarding "Capsules" but it was cut early in development however this was something I read on the internet in the mid-2000's I was pretty young so you'll have to forgive my memory as I have no idea where I originally read this. But based on the fact that in the original "Capsule Monsters" sketches contained what appears to be an Hotel my assumption is that maybe this mechanic could've been used in a "Pachinko Like" game where where trainer bets on "Capsules" (or as we now know them Pokéballs) containing Items or Very Rarely "Monsters" (or as we now know them Pokémon). But then again this is just a Hypothesis I've created based on the limited evidence we have.
All I need to do is some how make this work in the GBA version and then I'll have a theme for the female rival in my Burning Red. (It's a redux of Fire Red.)
There's 2 pulse channels plus the noise channel playing on each individual gameboy. It's 3 channels, with both systems equals 6. The music "data" is nothing more then music sequence data (like a midi but different) + defined instrument data (the sound you want the channels to produce) and the sound processor outputs it. There's nothing special about how the GameBoy/NES/every 8bit console ever produces it's sound. Not to sound like a know it all, but the creepypasta videos I've seen in the past were very adamant about the game having "Mysterious coding" or some crap like that. Just spreading legit facts on how the hardware ACTUALLY works. EDIT: I forgot to mention the triang/sawtooth channel. but this doesn't use either of them so I suppose it's null aside from being referenced.
