When people make you feel included 1:53 As a shy introvert this is a moment of relief
Agree.
You think so, I honestly feel like it's salt on a wound for me anyway
I am an extreme case I'm probably way way older than you guys and I haven't left my house in at least 5 years and it never was often even before that
idk why i always smile when charlie put his drink and then do that awkard 'walk-dance'😂
Handy Joli me too
Because it's so adorable and innocent. I always smile too when that comes in. It's just so cute and overall an accurate representation of what an anxious and introverted teen would do in a school dance.
I deadass did that 😂😂
Off topic, but I love your profile pic
My favorite part. ❤️
RIGHT when the beat was about to drop

If only everyone had friends like charlie..
Niklas Nordbäck That would be a world of none lonely person
I am Charlie (kinda) I need friends like Sam and, especially, Patrick
i hope that just means that you are shy and not having blackouts
Yerp, just shy and introvertive some
im literally the same as charlie but i have like no friends ://
When I went to see this movie in the theaters, the audience cheered at 1:37 Seeing Charlie finally try to participate is an exhilarating movie-moment.
Cullen Cochran god I would have loved to see this flick in theater. I’d be cheesing ear to ear
OMG. I would've loved to be there. A great experience
Que buen recuerdo ha de haber sido.
Wow i wish i saw this in theater
i miss going to theaters before covid started spreading everywhere. istg ever since covid theaters have become so empty and lifeless
Everyone who says "I want friends like these". We, the watchers of this movie are friends like these. LET'S BE FRIENDS
ChloeLND haha i just commented that
let's be friends, yeah !
ChloeLND let's be great friends
We should all make a group chat
ChloeLND i just finished this book an hour ago and watchiny the movie now and want friends like these
The absolute best and most touching movie I've ever seen. And this is coming from a person who has seen 2k+ movies from almost every country that makes movies. My favorite scene was when Paul Rudd says "We accept the love we think we deserve", this one quote changed my life.
Read the book then. If you enjoyed this, you're missing out if you haven't read the book yet.
+jamil nadiq I'm not really a book person, but your comment made me wanna read it, I'll be getting the book as soon as possible. Thank you.
+Shabareed Seenpha Hey, no problem!
You ever heard the "movie's not even half as good as the book" comments? Those are true... most of the time. I mean visually, almost nothing can compare with movies. But with emotions and sentimentalities, books are arguably as good as the movies.
But yeah, it's good habit to pick up, books. I'm pretty sure you'll love reading "the Perks of Being a Wallflower" in particular.
Any books that has something to do with school life and its cute love stories, I have a few to recommend.
Feel free to ask. Only if you want! xo
+jamil nadiq Yeah, I'm open to suggestions :)
+jamil nadiq would u know of any movies/books like this one. the movie is literally one of my favs
This scene killed me because he looked so happy when they took him in. It feels so good to be allowed to have fun. To be adopted by the good hearted people who know exactly what you need without thinking twice about it. If you are these friends you’re my angels and I love you. These friends saved my life
♥️♥️♥️
When the music slowed down and Charlie got the confidence to walk up to then and start dancing..:. I felt that 😩♥️

After watching 13 Reasons Why, I have to watch The Perks of Being a Wallflower to gain hope on humanity again.
Sheik are you implying that 13 reasons why wasn’t good?
Grace C. I think they are trying to say that Charlie couldve ended up killing himself like Hannah did. Although 13 reasons why was good but it was sad since their situations resemble those who kill themselves. By rewatching this movie u see great, loyal and dependable people that care for Charlie.
catsanddogs I don’t understand why the people is so cruel and mean

DM Animation love him-Perfect
It takes courage to leave the wall and enjoy the dance and the people. I love how Sam and Patrick simply take this little fearful bird and make him fly togheter with them.
"Oh my god, they're playing GOOD music."
Me anytime I'm somewhere where music is playing. Hearing good music in the public is becoming such a rare thing but it makes the good music that much more special when you hear it.

@windydonutz Yeah def agree on the hair, but not Ron. Rupert Grint aka Ron is hot!!
windydonutz - counterpoint... she got a pixie cut after Harry Potter and that was the length it had grown to at the time of shooting this movie.

Y'know what? Yeah. Raging metal fuels me. Classical music makes me reflective. Sick beats wake me up. Powerful lyrics tug at me. Soundtracks inspire me. But music for the sake of music - that is the purest of all.

What I love most about this scene is how genuinely happy Sam and Patrick were to include Charlie
I love this scene so much, it really captures the importance of friendship between introverts and extroverts. I’m an introvert and I love having extreme extroverted friends because they bring me out of my comfort zone and for better or for worse they’re the reason why I’m experiencing life.
I reckon you gotta have those friends that are confronting, put you out of your comfort zone, etc. Even just one or two friends like that. If all your friends are easy, comforting, lovey-dovey people who essentially just form an echo chamber, it can result in a bit of a closeted perspective on life.
I need friends like Charlie's. Living in the moment... I love it.
Jhania Smith just become those friends
Hermione really had fun with her muggle friends.
Except Credence is also a wizard. Obscurial, sure but still. Not to mention they're also having fun with a demigod
@@bbpele2848 ikr... percy, hermione, credence. The trio we never expected
Ooh Ron is gonna be MAD when he finds out. LOL!
The fear of rejection just to face your fears and see you’re welcomed is the most heartfelt feeling I’ve ever had I love this movie
I broke out laughing when Sam said "oh my god they are playing good music", I laughed even harder when Patrick said "Holy shit they are playing good music", I lost it when I saw Sam dancing.
I’ve never related to a character more than Charlie
I have this clip (1:31 - 2:10) saved on my phone as a reminder I can always come back to for the benefits of facing our fears and going out of our comfort zones because in this life we live, it's moments of courage like this that allow us to live to our fullest. I saw a lot of my younger past self in Charlie which is why it was so amazing to follow his story of coming out of his shell. One of my favorite films ever.
Amen to that, love the meaning you have to it
come on charlieen
If only i had friends like Patrick and Sam
Maybe you could be a Patrick and Sam!
Same 😭
If only I had friends
be Patrick and Sam for someone else! it’s you who watched the movie
I maybe 28 but i feel you
This scene always makes me cry lol because it must have taken Charlie a lot of courage to go up and dance with them. And something that little and simple might be easy for others but not for people who are so shy and anxious. Ugh. He must have felt so brave and proud of himself in that moment.
i love this scene so much. It is the exact moment he stops being a wallflower even if it's just for a moment
I miss being a teenager. I wish I could go back then and have the confidence I have now
This scene will always live rent free in my mind. The serotonin Charlie gets when he decides to finally leave the wall. This is the exact moment that he stops being a wallflower.
this movie does a good job at showing how incredible it feels to be included
I’m 30 and I still feel the want to be included
Goddammit this movie is fucking great
i can not describe how happy this scene makes me feel. the song, the dance, the characters, the vibes are just immaculate.
Emma’s eyes practically GLOW
She’s so incredibly gorgeous here
Such an underrated teen movie
For real I found this movie when I was at a sleepover and I fell in love with this scene bro😭💖💘💕
First time i saw this film was with my Gf who at the time wasnt my gf... and ill admit we both agree and love this film giving it an A rating.... However nonetheless upon our first viewing, i had no idea the kind of affect it would have on her. Not in a bad way but in the sense where this movie "hit a lil to close to home".... hopefully that makes sense.....
I wont get into details but we can all agree that when Charlie has his break down in the film, with the movies sorta dark reveal into Charlies past, its hard not to shed a tear or feel for his character....
As that scene plays out, my gf just broke down and cried like ive never seen before and mind you she wasnt even my gf at the time....
I had no idea how to react or what to say let alone even comfort her or begin to comprehend what was going through her head. I just remember sitting down behind her as she cried putting my arms around her squeezing her not wanting to let her go and resting my head on top of hers....
I just remember saying to myself quietly "Im So Sorry"(not out loud but making the movement with my lips) as my head rested on top of hers.. till this day she doesnt know but i shed a tear for her.
Sometimes people just need someone to be there for them no questions asked...
This film is one of the best ive seen when it comes to dealing with the teenage mind and all the challenges they face coming into adulthood. Whether the experiences be overwhelming beautiful and loving to heartbreaking and tragic. Its in these moments they begin to understand and realize how life for some may not be as great as others.... if you have not seen the film please do so and watch it. Its worth the watch.
Thank you for reading this..... assuming youve stuck around this long to read this that is lol sorry it was so long.
This is touching 💚

I’ve discovered this movie just before lockdown ended too
I cry during this scene, tears of joy. Go Charlie, Go you got this my man, don't hold back!! 😭
@1:30 you can see that charlies character is dancing next to emma and ezra's character, while he is suppose to be still watching from the wall. its only for a split second so look closely, its an edit error
nakiommi AHHA nice eye
just enjoy the movie
Orr maybe it was Charlie's imagining of where he wanted to be at that very moment. We get a lot of those throughout the film ;)
nakiommi buzzkill
@@redscarf20 absolutely that
My God him slowly walking to Sam and Patrick felt really slow and was very anxiety inducing especially when I first watched it.
This scene always makes me cry, seeing him gain the confidence to go out and dance and have fun is just great to see
2:03 has to be one of the best shots in the ‘coming of age’ genre. It’s the kind of stuff great memories of youth with friends are made of.
Never seen this before but it looks so good, I was skeptical at first.... But the second they started playing come on Eileen and the two saying they are actually playing good music! I love it! I grew up listening to old classics like that and madness and the Beatles! This is priceless 😊 whoop

Friendship Goals
this song played at my senior prom and when it played it felt like there was a SPOTLIGHT on me and my date it was one of the best nights of my life
i remember watching this with my friends in 9th grade! they were my very own patrick and sam, except they were both boys. i felt exactly like charlie the first day of high school. had plenty of anxiety attacks and fear that i'd spend lunch and after school being alone for the rest of my high school experience. but i met these two special people and they were all i needed. for everyone who thinks this way, you are wrong. you are not alone. there's always something in store for you.
*This scene seems so bitter sweet now. I used to like Ezra but now after everything that's come out I feel like hes a monster. I'll never look at him the same way.*
I would do anything to watch this for the first time again
Never seen this movie I assume from your comment that you really loved it, is it similar to any other movies not sure if it's my cup of tea or not. 🤔

One of my favorite scenes in a movie. Ever. Especially when the music slows down as Charlie walks into the crowd, so breathtaking.
This is by far one of my favorite scenes in this entire movie. So when I saw this coming up in my recommended, I couldn't resist to watch it. ♥️♥️♥️
This is honestly probably my favorite scene. I relate so much cause i was always the one standing awkwardly away from everyone. Sometimes you just gotta force your way into having fun and letting go.
i like to think that a lot of us are Charlie in this moment
This is just such a joyful scene I love so much. Song choice is perfect.
I love Charlie’s walk into the circle idk why

One of the best coming of age films of all time
Man even I wanna have these dance experiences with my friends..
Heck, I am 70 years old. Honestly, I really enjoyed watching this movie. I always appreciate good music, the genre of the song does not matter to me, just a great dance song.
I love how Patrick and sam celebrated when Charlie came, so pure :’)
This is always so fun to watch. Reminds me of the time me and a good friend of mine used to recreate the steps and dance to this scene. 😭 this movie always made me feel less lonely and sad a few years back.
Everytime this song come up in anything I feel alive
I love how charlie just casually starts to make his way to the floor.

this is my favorite scene in the whole movie. i love this song and i love emma and ezra dancing together
Jesus I can’t really describe how happy that walk dance Charlie does makes me and then embraced by his true friends! Ugh love this scene
i keep coming back to this film it's HANDS DOWN the best coming-of-age film that came out in the 2010's, i get goosebumps every time i rewatch it. they really don't make films like that
How about Love Simon or Lady Bird
@@manuelorozco7760 I only watched Lady Bird It was good but I didn't connect with it that much, I prefer the perks of being a wallflower

Teaches you to love the moments. They're fun and you should enjoy them.
The walk dancing melts my heart
this particular scene was filmed at my middle school... which is incredibly distracting, but it's still a good movie
The love. The energy. The participation.
The elements needed to survive high school.
everyone keeps talking about how we need friends like this LIKE WE COULD ALL JUST BE FRIENDS 😂😂
True!!! I'll be your friend!!! ❤
YES
This coments section is so wholesome because it's before Ezra downfall. Hope it keeps this way.
I watched this movie two years ago in my interpersonal relations class. before the movie started my teacher came up to me and said i was a perfect example of a wall flower. I’d never felt more seen than i did that day. the movie broke me and i don’t plan on watching it again because of how hard it hit me.
No ever called me a Wallflower
Iam a wallflower
Seeing a person like most of us being accepted by Sam and Patrick and succeeding in making friends like them did put a really Big Smile on my face.
Is this what Ezra Miller was doing before he became a real life supervillain
💀
Such a beautiful scene
This is my all time favourite scene, Ezra and Emma were just amazing.
Charlie slowly dancing/walking to the dance floor is my favorite scene of the movie
love how charlie approaching them slowly matches the buildup to the chorus of the song
