Accessing and Replacing Honda CR-Z Hybrid Battery Fan

Today we are getting our CR-Z rebuild project off the ground with a pretty crucial fix - keeping the hybrid battery system functioning properly. We were getting lots of error lights from different systems as well as some weird revving behaviour. If you are having issues with your IMA system and seeing the same check engine codes we did, this fan might be the fix. Once the fan was swapped, and the fuse replaced, our IMA system started working and charging again, and we were able to go for the first real test drive!
If you need to order a replacement part, search up the part number 1J810-RTW-003 from Honda directly, or use sites like RockAuto to find aftermarket brand replacements like the PM9503 from Continental that we used.

just bought a crashed CR-Z myself, it's hole again but some falts are there so I can't wait for the video where u will take care of the airbag faults

I have IMA light come on my CRZ but the code is P0A7F , the light come on and goes away for weeks , the car however perform normally. I am not sure if replacing the fan will actually do anything , I need to take out the fan to visually inspect at least

Thanks again for the great videos,! My pearl white has most warning lights that pop up after a bit of Driving when resetting by disconnecting battery, I just got a new battery and it was great for a day then lights on again! BTW if you need the 12 battery replaced they are $141 minus core 16 at Honda dealership. They were over 200 elsewhere. And the Honda labeled battery had greater cold cranking power! Interstate were like 220. May all our problems be small ones! Did you get your battery temp up to check the fan or run power to it?

I did end up running the vehicle for a while to get the battery up to operating, took it on a 45 minute drive as well. All the problems went away! Airbag light is gone now as well after a couple cycles with the 12V battery charged up. Will be upgrading to a 51R in the future, though.
