I have to say, if you bounce all of the midis in a track together and just dissolve it and render it (all one click functions) , you're saving yourself a lot of hassle than with separating the tracks. 11:05 Is just the best trick i've learned in ages. THANKS !!!
Man after many years (!) struggling to find how to route a VST inst to multiple outputs in Kontakt, and finding only basic tutorial that tought me what I already knew, the simple exclamation tip saved my entire life of music production . Thanks again for this hidden gem !

You want to save the mixer settings in Abbey Road as well as the Kontakt output settings. Abbey Road allows you to save the mixer settings as FX preset.
Great video and I followed in step by step with Kintakt % in Cubase Pro 10.5 but I cannot get the mono channels to work. I am only getting the 3 stereo channels to get signal. I double checked the outputs and the proper one are activated. Any advice out there would be greatly appreciated.
I never thought of that exclamation point. Every other video I've seen on assigning outputs in Kontakt say you have to restart the Kontakt instance after changing output assignments. Who woulda thunk it?
What a brilliant video. I was using my kontakt drums very differently. From this video may I ask some questions? 1. You're 1st method of setting up control in cubase mixer I love. 2. The 2nd method of creating individual lanes in the project window for each drum kit part then dropping in those midi drum patterns ( which I had no idea were in kontakt ) Can you sort of combine the two ? As you didn't actually play or demonstrate how you did method 1, I'm wondering if I can set up the mixer but add the midi patterns ? I hope this makes sense. I know what I'm thinking not sure if I wrote it they way lol
Great. I wonder why it is with 9.5 Pro I can't create/edit instrument/select my Kontakt instrument? I have access to the Edit instrument controller, but it isn't going to Kontakt.
Are you using track instruments or rack instruments? If you are using a rack instrument, it will be controlled by a MIDI track and you'll have to edit the instrument from the instrument rack, not the track itself. Hope this helps!

Hello, very nice explanation. Only one question: Is this really necessary? Or can we make the Mix in Kontakt and use it as a one stereo track? that is, can I use the drum normally in compositions without separating the channels? and can i get the same result? thanks..
I usually have the drums as a stereo out and mix them from within the instrument. Some people love to have granular control over what they are doing in the mixing process. Also, you can use DAW specific plugins on certain channels if you're going for a specific sound.
In Cubase it's quite easy. You can add it as vst rack and use a midi track to control it. If you tell ez drummer to put out the tracks on different channels it will do that. Mess around a bit and you'll understand what I'll mean :)

Thanks for the NI/Cubase stuff.. I have Cubase mostly figured out but I struggle with Komplete [10 ULT in my case].. How do you figure this stuff out? I find the jargon filled manuals to be unhelpful.
