"When you see a discard pool that doesn't make any sense, first thing you should think about is chiitoitsu" was the best piece of advice anyone gave me
    Great video! :D

Subtitles suddenly appear at 16:35 and it looks like there was something shortly before.

Could be some weird interactions with music if it's not coincidence.
Anyway, the reason for keeping North instead of dora for chiitoitsu is that it's more likely to come out, so higher win chance. Dealer wants to win and repeat.

Love the commentary. Just curious, how many games do you play for you to make a video? Because I cant imagine that all your hanchan go as well as this one

On average, about 1 in every 4-5 games.

Enjoy your videos. Why shouldn't chiitoitsu wait on a live honor tile? Aren't guest winds the least useful tiles for your opponents, so the ones they're most likely to discard?
In shimocha's place I would still have gone for the dora wait simply because of value (guaranteed haneman), but surely the guest wind wait is way more likely to deal in than a dora wait?

Short answer: not necessarily. In the early game (before turn 8), then yes, the winrate of a live tanki tile is higher. On turn 11 and later, the winrate of hell wait tanki becomes higher than live tile tanki.
Miinin's Statistical Mahjong Strategy gives a 30% winrate on live honor tanki waits and a 40% winrate on hell wait honor tanki on turn 12 onwards (with your ron rate being 18% and 30% respectively).
Of course, if there is a choice, you should aim for once discarded honor tanki waits for chiitoitsu - you have the highest winrate of 45% on turn 12 and a ron rate of 32%.
      The reasoning is that:
      1) live honors are unlikely to be in the wall, especially the later the round drags on.
      2) once discarded honors (and by extension, hell wait honors) are more easily discarded by other players than live honors.
