Thank you for a well explained intro into this program. I'll watch more of them. Don't know if I'll switch over but I do see areas this would be a very quick and precise drawing style.
OpenSCAD is very sensitive to syntax. Misspell one little word, use a semicolon where you shouldn't or don't use it where you should, and it goes kablooie. In my case I had a semicolon problem; I don't remember if it was one too many or one too few, but that was it. Other times I've messed up by having or not having [square brackets], having or not having (parenthesis), and so on. It's like an English paper back in middle school, except that... durned character limit
It was working beautifully last night, but this morning I can't get it to do the difference thing. I'm going to shut it down and try again. Nope, still not working. It looks like the Borg tried to ram the Death Star. This makes the captured nut thing in the next video not work either. Did I break OpenSCAD?
you wont see this but im going to fav like all your videos , im actually excellent at scripting and terrible at blender , this will give me a way to make more accurate , and easier for me to do , thanks
Thanks for the tutorial, this looks like it can be so much easier than other cad programs.

Thank you! Great tutorial for us dummies!

How did you solve it? I have the same problem.

It's like an English paper back in middle school, except that the only two grades you can get are 100 or 0. No B, C, or D grade; it's either A+ or F-.
Why not use XML w/ DTD...then the XML validator could help troubleshoot syntax errors? What about 2D mode?
Thanks.
Problem solved. Thank you.
If it doesn't work, it probably means you forgot to add ['s or {'s, or('s or;'s.
that buzz in the background is very distracting
