Detail, at 1:53 you missed the fact that the rotated plate was the correct size, but the hole was not in the center of the plate any more. The problem is that once the hole is created in the module it can't be moved again. To avoid that issue I'd make the whole bracket more complex by rotating and translating the plate, without changing the size, and then the 'corner area' which is -missing- material, and add a new shape that fills in the material, using dimensions as defined by the thickness. There are other potential fixes too but they are even more complex so simpler is better.
You have 2 bugs in there.
1. Thickness can't be higher than 1
2. The rotated plate's, center hole is off by half the adjusted thickness
