Thanks ever so much for your video. You take the hard work out of learning! You're my kind of teacher. You start very simply but answer the questions in my brain as soon as I've thought of them. It's amazing, almost like ESP! Plus, very, very, simple baby steps. This works very well for my ancient, but still very active, brain!
How could there be no comments here? :) When I did a search for openscad tutorial this came up as the first hit. I have a background in other cads so maybe it was easier for me, but this is clear, concise, to the point, and helps the user hit the ground running. The openscad user interface is already very clear and intuitive so an intro for that isn't really necessary except for the purest newbie.
When I type in the commands, nothing happens. Could you explain the settings you use with OpenSCAD? Is there a way to convert OpenSCAD files to SolidWorks? Thanks.
For those wanting to follow along, press the F6 key to re-render new description code.

Hello , I'm really new to 3D printing. I have a macbook OS X 10.8.5
What free software can I download in order to open .scad files ?
what settings are you using because I can't see anything besides what I'm typing :/
***** you need to hit F6 to load the geometry you programmed.

Apparently there's a way to export from OpenSCAD to Freecad and from there to Solidworks.
I want to make a 3D printer, but want to scale it up. That requires tweaking of the 3D parts before printing.
