- Because of my religion challenge, I became friends with a Buddhist monk. And I may have learned the biggest lesson of them all.

@@hudsonhayer9376they do work, it’s volunteer work, they don’t get paid for it, they perform many duties to keep the monasteries going and he teaches, all as a service from their heart, not to gain anything, not even for gods grace, because you can not do anything expecting a desired outcome, you must do it from your heart with no expectation for anything

Well, that happiness is never going to last forever. They are just distractions. From a minimal life I think you can have the best life. Money, promotions,jobs are very temporary .it's not easy to stay happy with them. And there is no one who is happy for a long time while surrounding those. The point here is not giving up all the things for mindfulness. It is to live a minimalist life❤🤗

In Our Country every Buddhist monk doesn't eat any food after 12pm but can drink like coffee or juice An exception the monks who with a stomach ailment can eat food . Because of Buddhist rules to get Meditation. It's normal For In Theravada Buddhist countries Like Our Country "Myanmar."😊❤

My guess is that when you have the habit of eating 3 meals, hunger becomes a distraction. People salivate when they see food and some even make their guts create gastric acid without any food (fooling the brain) and make them have stomach ache if the don't eat asap. If your body is used to fasting and just eat once a day you won't have to worry about next meal, think of food, suffer hunger. All distractions.

It is a rule for Buddhist monks. They can still consume beverages though. They are taught that eating is only intended to keep body and soul together (give energy nd relieve hunger) and not to satisfy oneself

It's for their health and keep their attractions low. So it will help them to avoid distractions. That's why they wouldn't wear any other clothes but the Robes and that's why the are mostly unseen. They only eat for survive the life and their main goal is Nirwana ( Escape from life if u ask me).

I'm personally a Buddhist, and I just want to say: Only the monks are like this. We try and follow the five precepts, and take refuge in the triple gem, and I really can't tell you if it makes me happier. But it is always nice to see a Christian who isn't spreading toxicity where they go. Good for you.

And I believe in god to this day, but differently. I believe in Jesus. Surrendering yourself to your inspirations and letting go of judgements is like going back to our root childhood and basic nature , the nature of the soul and we will be at peace without even trying to be at peace ✌️
As the four noble truths of Buddha says:
1. The world is full of suffering
2. The cause of suffering is desire
3. To end suffering, one must get rid of desire
4. To end desire, one must follow the eightfold path

@@jasonbig1353well , the most important of buddhism is Vipassana practise, just open ur third eye, see astral creature like buddha jesus, muhammad, then u will know the truth that buddha is the most supreme, its hard to explain to blind people about color while the blind people only know darkness, the most easy way to understand universe is to open alternate eye between your fore head through vipassana and archieve high dhyana, then u will realize, jesus is not creator, and just like ordinary gods like zeus

Is the 24 hours fasting, eating only One a small meal a day? It’s not difficult to do the 24 hours fast as I did it for several years, at First one feels a little hungry or gets a headache but after a day or two one gets used to it! One feels so Peaceful, Calm, Inner Bliss it’s an Amazing feeling!
