- After logging 750 miles on the Norda 01 trail running shoe, I put this $300 shoe to the ultimate test. In this in-depth review, I break down why I think it’s worth the price:
1️⃣ Durability - Built to last, the Norda 01 outshines competitors with incredible performance and resilience.
2️⃣ Aesthetics - It’s not just a shoe; it’s a statement.
3️⃣ Sustainability - Designed to replace 3 regular trail shoes, it’s a step forward for those looking to reduce overconsumption.
I also discuss the one downside: the heel counter. Is it a dealbreaker? Tune in to find out!
Specs:
• Upper: Woven bio-based Dyneema®
• Laces: Dyneema® & recycled polyester
• Sole: norda™ x Vibram® Formation with Megagrip®
Mission:

Just ran the Rocky Raccoon 100km in my new norda 001's - absolutely loved them ❤
Norda really needs to advertise that post break in feeling more. Once the shoe is fully broken in its just pure bliss. My pair is just slightly over 500 kms and its still feels as comfortable as when they were new. Easily my fav trail shoe ever.
Its a shoe that definitely needs to be broken in first as I had terrible heel rubbing in my first 70 kms.
Agreed!
bought a pair, love the look, very confortable as far as the toe box and sole is concerned. But I got a major issue with the ankle area, on the front. A very painfull pressure from the first km's. Tried different lacing method and even put a big bandage but unfortunatelly I basically can't run with these shoes 😞
I have the Satisfy 001 and the Regolith, and they are outstanding. I ran the Kullamanann 100 and one-third of the TDS in the same Satisfy pair, and they worked so well. I must be close to 1,000 miles in the Satisfy, and the tread is still there.
However, I bought the NNormal Tomir 2 and put the 001 insoles into them, and I think I've found the perfect combo for me. Just like the Nordas, the Tomirs have a long break-in period, after which they work beautifully. The caveat is that they need the Norda insoles (or a similar compound) to achieve this.
The difference for me is that the Tomir has more of a rocker, which gives more of a cruisey roll on the long stuff. The NNormal shoes are also built with sustainability in mind-in that once the midsole breaks in, it stays that way, just like the 001s. You can also resole the Tomirs at any shoe repair shop with the Megagrip Litebase.
It’s almost splitting hairs, but I find myself reaching for the Tomirs more often than not.
Love that for you man!! Will have to check the Tomirs out when these kick the can
I use saucony etpu insoles (formfit) insides my shoes as weel, theyr work like a charm, instant upgrade !
@@misterlovenoodle I think the Saucony insoles are almost better than their shoes 😊
Agreed! I love em
ditto
Hi. Would this work also for walking ? using it as a one purpose shoe, for example on holidays.
Yeah i wear them casually as well - great shoe all around
@@scotthickenlooper thanks. will order the rz magma one then with discount
Have you tried 002?
Not Yet!
How do you clean them? My pair despite regular hand washing has developed a stench. I’ve never had this problem due to previous shoes not lasting nearly as long as the nordas. It’s not gonna stop me from running them to failure. But it would be nice to mitigate the smell. Any tips? Thanks!
Always switch into a clean pair of socks that you haven’t walked around the kitchen in or worn all day when you put your shoes on. That is the main factor for odorless shoes
From Norda directly: "It’s best to remove the insole to allow for faster drying. Washing by hand with light soap and cold water yields the best results. We do NOT recommend using washing machines or hot water, and definitely do NOT expose the shoes to high heat which will damage the components of the shoes."
I use a soft shoebrush too!
Do you wear Merino wool socks? I've found that my shoes have no odor if I wear Merino wool socks. And I wear my shoes 9 - 12 hours a day, walking 6 - 12 miles daily at work. Darn Tough socks are what I go with because they are American-made and have a lifetime warranty.
