    200+ pound guy here. I rotated 2 pairs of these the entire year to close to 1000 miles. I am in disbelief in how nice they both still feel, I bought a studded pair for winter here in Canada! They are the best shoe going downhill I have found! Thanks!!

    Great review. My first pair of the 001 went for more than 1300 km's and they're still kicking around. On my second pair I had an delamination issue. I contacted norda and they've warrantied it and they're sending me a new pair of shoes. Amazing shoes. But what's even better is they stand behind their products which is so rare these days.

    My favorite brands became my favorite brands mostly because of the way in which their customer services have dealt with issues regarding their products. I have very recently bought a pair of 001's and, for a week, they didn't left my desk because I was trying to justify coughing up 300 bucks for a pair of shoes. After trying them I can honestly say that they feel amazing in all sorts of ways and the fit is something I have never gotten from any other shoe. What's just as important as the quality and feel of the shoes are the reviews - specially about how they deal with their customers. It's very cool to see that they stand behind their promises and that, in your case, they promptly sent you a new pair.

    Honestly these shoes are so sick and definitely bullet proof. I bought one pair and like them so much I bought another just so I could rotate. The first pair is still going strong with 1,500 KM running the trails of Squamish, BC (Terrain that's no joke). They are definitely expensive but for anyone who blows through shoes fast it actually ends up being way cheaper in the long run...They really check off all the boxes. I haven't even thought about another brand since making the sandwich to Norda.

      100%! I just added my new pair into the rotation, but my original pair are >900km now and still so good. If you can get past the cash flow problem, they're a worthy investment for sure!

    I have 3 pairs of the 001 and they are my favorite shoes for EVERYTHING. I wore them as a casual shoe, and then took them on a 8 mile run through my local hills in rain and mud. Amazing shoe. I also experienced a bit of delimitation in the upper, but nothing that has gotten worse over time. I do have a wider foot and it actually feels nice, I also did bump uo a half size like recommended. I am looking at getting a pair of the 002, or the 003 for kicking around.

    I am also a fanboy - wonderful shoes that whilst expensive, you probably would have blown through one and a half pairs of Hokas in the same distance. So really…in terms of value, they are not at all out of line.
    Now you’ve got to get your hands on the 002s. I have both, and there is one that I prefer more than the other (whilst I love both). I’d be curious to get your take.

    One thing I sometimes hate about the norda 001 is that they make the experience in other shoes completely disappointing. With the exception of the trabuco max 2 and 3, because of the grip, everything else (including the speedgoats, mafate 4, nnormal tomir, peregrine 13 + xodus + endorphin rift, salomon´s glide max tr, TNF Summit Vectiv Pro, NB´s Trail More V3, etc, etc) seems disappointing. And I love trying trail running shoes. Or rather, I used to love it until I discovered these tanks. I'm already on my second pair and I still haven't worn out the first pair, which must have already passed 600kms for sure. In fact, not only are they the best trail running shoes by far, they are also drop-dead gorgeous. My second pair, which is the original color created for the Norda´s 001 (black and white), is only used to go to work or go out. I am love with these.

    For people that have this shoe how well do these shoes do when wet/in rain? Are they water resistant or dry quickly? Are these comfortable enough for all day walking or day hikes? I was looking at these as a travel shoe for walking all day on sidewalks, cobble stone, the occasional day hike, etc, but wasn’t sure if these would work or I should look for a different kind of shoe?

    • @lukewbarrett
      @lukewbarrett  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Dyneema upper is a fairly tight weave, which seems to keep light moisture out quite well. Once completely wet on the inside they don’t dry that well though. I’ve worn the 001’s casually and absolutely loved them for walking and general day-to-day use.

    Thank you Luke, nice review about, also like that the drop is right balance, not a massive chunky shoe. I kind of skeptic about size fitting, considering that here in Mexico there is no way to test how it fits in a Running Shoe Store. Normally I run with Newton which find perfect fit, this Newton compared with Nike, Newton is a little bit wider, and considering that the website for Norda recommends to go for half size up i will be worry to have extra room in the toe room and potential blisters for a sucha an expensie running shoe.

    At first I hated the shoe and couldn’t believe I dropped $300cdn for the X Ciele. The ankle collar was rubbing and couldn’t lock in. After watching Colin Swifts review and how he laces the 001, problem solved, 600km later, the wear is minimal, the midsole feels so sweet. I sized up 1/2 a US size for my Nordas (as they recommend) and they fit perfectly. The 001’s are firmer than speedgoats and more room in the toebox. I bought 2 pairs of these. First in half size up as recommended, which ended up being too wide. I had to cinch the laces down so tight to get a decent lockdown that I ended up with insertional achilles tendonitis from the back of the shoe pressing too hard and rubbing against my heel during a really long, steep scramble. Then I bought a pair in my regular size. The lockdown was much better but my toes ended up hitting the front of the shoe on downhills, and my slightly wider right foot could feel the edge of the insole digging into the bottom of my mid foot. Really wanted to love them but my feet simply aren't the right shape for them :(

    Are knockoffs an issue with these? I bought a pair online, and they're the worst running shoes I've ever owned. Paying $285 makes me feel like an idiot. Reviews make it seem like we received completely different shoes. Out of the box, they were scuffed and had sloppy glue work. The run is terrible - I can't go more than 4 miles without severe irritation and potential blisters. The stiff midsole makes running a chore. I've forced myself to endure 12 miles in them so far, hoping they might just need a break-in period for some reason. I feel like a sucker; for the price, I've had better shoes under $100.
