We have another of Howe's dodgy mates Kelly who is nothing more than a reserve earning over 100 grand a week! Matt Targett signed then frozen out on a 100 grand a week! Two left wingers signed when a right sided wide man has been required for the last 3 years! An 18 month experiment to play Dan Burn as a Full Back regularly hanging the lad out to dry after loaning a 30 million pound with option to buy sitting on the bench! The stupidity of playing Trippier when the lads head had gone last season to disastrous effect! A load of soft tissue injuries due to his demanding training sessions and high intensity press which he has now had to abandon for obvious reasons. The pigs ear he made of last season would have seen him sacked at other clubs, why is it tolerated at Newcastle? Predictable tactics and style of play that have been found out yet he has no other ideas to bring to the table to change things. Bizarre team selections and substitutions that don't do anything. Cryptic press conferences that were mildly entertaining at first but are now wearing in the extreme. Ridiculous laps of honour around the pitch as though we have won the league. Similarly daft UCL winning style photographs after a home win, why? The list goes on... Eddie did a good job in the early days of the take over but everything has become stale under him. Howe has been lauded in the past for getting the best out of players whereas now his players are going backwards regressing back to the bad old days, why is that? Players contracts are the least of our worries, they are under contract and are underperforming on the pitch, and how about playing Tonali for a full 90 Eddie, that would be nice. As stated if the players want European football - then they have to play / fight for it. We know the club does need to invest - but the level of late from the players is not good enough.
I think the mess up with the finances - selling Anderson and Minteh last minute must have been really unsettling - there is a basic trust that the backroom staff are competent and the last minute almost fire sale was a BIG shock. Likewise the farcical treatment of Amanda and Mehrdad. I think that's very unsettling when you assume the Club is in safe hands with ambition and plans. It's not like the financial department didn't know about PSR. However I totally agree about the players have to show commitment loyalty and class.

For me Kelly hasn't been that great but Hall has really stepped up and probably been one of our best players. I could easily see us selling Almiron, Tripps, Willock and Wilson to bring in reinforcements in those areas. For me those are the areas where we need replacements for aging/injury prone or players maybe not up to the task anymore that can still command a decent transfer fee.

Both players and the club need to show commitment and intent. The front three are misfiring and it’s a massive concern that needs turned around and fast. Just concentrate on the football and putting the ball in the net and the rest will look after itself.
Isak needs to man up, and score, he was compared to Thierry Henry he is no way close. Supposed to be a striker, Harvey Barnes has scored more , not sure if I understand football but you need to score more than you let in. And that will be at least the right direction for CL.
To be perfectly honest they haven't been the same since Amanda and Mehrdad decided to leave the Toon. It definitely has a phycological effect on the players and the club. Yes there have been other reasons but everything seemed a lot better when they were here. Injuries are injuries but I suspect there are players who could play but decide to take the easy way to make good money without kicking a ball. You can make your own mind up on that one !
We bring in Kelly, Osula and Ruddy and have a coach that got absolutely found out last season. The system clearly doesn't work and doesn't bring the best out of our best players

I can understand why the club wanted to allow Wilson to be the second striker, he’s been a great servant and deserved some level of loyalty but it’s really starting to look like the wrong decision. Osula is a decent prospect signing but the club should have purchased a reliable goal scorer as Wilson can no longer be relied upon for the 2nd striker role.

There might be a little problem here. You're right to say the players need to perform. But it's difficult for top players to thrive if the formation's questionable. 4-3-3 undoubtedly worked a year or two ago. But is it working now ? It's gone a bit stale and opponents have worked us out to a degree. And inverted wingers means very few crosses happen. We really need to play with a bit more width and a more varied system of play might help a lot. There's a sizeable number of fans out there saying Eddie has no plans B. Are they all wrong ? And what happens in training regarding set - pieces ? Does anything happen ? Must do much better, surely!
The players have pulled up trees for this football club. The club have had 3 dreadful transfer windows to help them. The manager has been poor in managing the squad with injuries and tactically.
For me Isak's problem is he knows he undroppable since no one else is fit/good enough to take his place. What I would do is bench him and start our new lad up front for a couple of games and bring isak for the last 45. Even if the new lad doesn't score at least he gets game time and it's not like isak is scoring so why the hell not
"The Board" really made a mess of comms from Janurary to well about now. It unsettled players, coaching staff & fans. The Board lost control, had no narrative and left everyone guessing. Hopefully now back on track. Yes pro's should just do a job, but, "The Board" are the top pro's and they have performed worse than the coaches & players this season!

keith is bang on as usual. he is toon fan first and journo second but he manages to come out with great content a lot. so many NE journos should learn a thing or two from him. Plus is is well thought of with the club.

As stated if the players want European football - then they have to play / fight for it. We know the club does need to invest - but the level of late from the players is not good enough.

I think the mess up with the finances - selling Anderson and Minteh last minute must have been really unsettling - there is a basic trust that the backroom staff are competent and the last minute almost fire sale was a BIG shock. Likewise the farcical treatment of Amanda and Mehrdad. I think that's very unsettling when you assume the Club is in safe hands with ambition and plans. It's not like the financial department didn't know about PSR. However I totally agree about the players have to show commitment loyalty and class.

Harvey Barnes was the only player giving it all and got benched, so it does go both ways , tonali keep being benched to keep him fit , fit for what Italy because he plays full games for Italy then Eddie rests him , who does Eddie think Sandro gets paid from , talked about Kelly then benched him , at the end of the season unless something changes by Jan window I can see Barnes Kelly and isak will want out , as the club hasn’t strengthened and the guehi joke was a disgrace when we need so many other players in different positions the most RW , that’s on Eddie, no investment and no future planning with so many players coming to the end of the career and need replacing, this wasn’t the dream we all got sold , with no investment
For me Kelly hasn't been that great but Hall has really stepped up and probably been one of our best players. I could easily see us selling Almiron, Tripps, Willock and Wilson to bring in reinforcements in those areas. For me those are the areas where we need replacements for aging/injury prone or players maybe not up to the task anymore that can still command a decent transfer fee.
@@barrycarter7274 Kelly is a cb and Eddie has been playing him as a lb his position was always a CB so Eddie signed him and agreed to pay him 150k a wk for him to sit on the bench or play him out of position, Kelly will put in for a transfer as he was expecting to get full time playing and was hoping to get into the England squad even his old team supporters expected him to get into England and understood why he left to get the bigger stage and the light shone on him , he must be kicking himself, Barnes will also want to leave why play your heart out be top goal scorer so far this season and get benched, the reason Kelly doesn’t get on because burn is from local and Eddie likes him if miggy was from Blyth he would still be on , Eddie plays favorites not who’s best ,

Both players and the club need to show commitment and intent. The front three are misfiring and it’s a massive concern that needs turned around and fast. Just concentrate on the football and putting the ball in the net and the rest will look after itself.
Isak needs to man up, and score, he was compared to Thierry Henry he is no way close. Supposed to be a striker, Harvey Barnes has scored more , not sure if I understand football but you need to score more than you let in. And that will be at least the right direction for CL.

To be perfectly honest they haven't been the same since Amanda and Mehrdad decided to leave the Toon. It definitely has a phycological effect on the players and the club. Yes there have been other reasons but everything seemed a lot better when they were here. Injuries are injuries but I suspect there are players who could play but decide to take the easy way to make good money without kicking a ball. You can make your own mind up on that one !
At the end of the day, results depend on the players on the pitch.
We bring in Kelly, Osula and Ruddy and have a coach that got absolutely found out last season.

I think the players feeling around the club is based on Mandy going so quickly and the silence since. As well as no longer bringing players in (we could have despite PSR otherwise we wouldn’t have considered 70 million on a defender………..
I can understand why the club wanted to allow Wilson to be the second striker, he’s been a great servant and deserved some level of loyalty but it’s really starting to look like the wrong decision. Osula is a decent prospect signing but the club should have purchased a reliable goal scorer as Wilson can no longer be relied upon for the 2nd striker role.

If Wilson is fit by January, we should sell him immediately. He should have been sold after we finished 4th.

With the money these players are making in comparison to the wages the supporters are making, it's a sad situation if they aren't motivated enough to give their all for the club

Its not the player's talking about the contracts is the media outlets talking about it.people can question the players form but people can question the decision Eddie has made with team selection and lack of transfers.
There might be a little problem here. You're right to say the players need to perform. But it's difficult for top players to thrive if the formation's questionable. 4-3-3 undoubtedly worked a year or two ago. But is it working now ? It's gone a bit stale and opponents have worked us out to a degree. And inverted wingers means very few crosses happen. We really need to play with a bit more width and a more varied system of play might help a lot. There's a sizeable number of fans out there saying Eddie has no plans B. Are they all wrong ? And what happens in training regarding set - pieces ? Does anything happen ? Must do much better, surely!

The club have had 3 dreadful transfer windows to help them.
The manager has been poor in managing the squad with injuries and tactically.
For me Isak's problem is he knows he undroppable since no one else is fit/good enough to take his place. What I would do is bench him and start our new lad up front for a couple of games and bring isak for the last 45. Even if the new lad doesn't score at least he gets game time and it's not like isak is scoring so why the hell not
"The Board" really made a mess of comms from Janurary to well about now. It unsettled players, coaching staff & fans. The Board lost control, had no narrative and left everyone guessing. Hopefully now back on track. Yes pro's should just do a job, but, "The Board" are the top pro's and they have performed worse than the coaches & players this season!

Well said hopefully they sort it out. Do you think with the players that left in the summer the likes off dummet and Richie I know they weren’t first team regulars but they were big character in the back ground. Also think the trippier thing over the summer hasn’t help either.
