Hey friends! I have a show idea: It would be awesome for Linda to do a Q & A with Leah and Stewart. I'd love to know some background and how their journey led them to The Vater Cottage! 🥰
I've had good luck with distilled white vinegar as a means to get rid of stains on glass. Fill the vase with vinegar, let sit for a few hours (or overnight), and then wash with soap.
I agree with the vinegar, unless the glass has become etched over time, which sometimes happens if the glass has been washed frequently in the dishwasher.
Linda, I love your TH-cam channel. Been watching you for years. You are so kind and classy. Thank you for all your wonderful information and ideas. Love your knew home. It's absolutely gorgeous! And I love your neighborhood too, so beautiful! Thank you for all you do!!
What a fun day thrifting and meeting a friend. Thanks Stewart for being so patient shopping with the ladies. I’m glad you took the Santa feet candy dish. Let’s see what you make out of that pretty runner.
Love love your thrifting episodes with Lia !!!! I’m from Melbourne Australia .. love seeing all the loot in USA thrift stores !! And seeing what you haul out and hearing your ideas is always super exciting and inspirational ! Thankyou !!
Magic erasers will remove the cloudiness from the glass. Use it to scrub and then rinse. They work great in hard water deposits on wi does and glass shower doors.
LOVE the show idea with Stewart and Leah being interviewed by Linda!! Also, let me just say that your GOODWILL store is AWESOME! And, as usual, I cannot wait to take a day and go THRIFTING!! LOVE the Santa bowl...hope that made the cut!! And the fabric....STUNNING! So many great ideas!! LOVE it when you go thrifting and share all your fabulous ideas!! As always, much love and blessings...
Love going thrifting with Linda, Leah, and Stewart. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and you gave us so many great ideas about how to use items you find at the thrift store 👍🏼👍🏼😊
Hi from Annie so many nice tings at the thrift store those baskets are all nived can't go past a nice one when I go thrifting. That material is great so many uses for it for sure a great bargain. I think you can't really make any mistakes buying up whatever you see as it all comes in handy one way or another nothing is ever wasted. Such a great way to decorate for few pennies. It won't break the wallet either. I love thrifting it always makes me very happy.
My favorite was the resin basket with floral garden looking art. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Just maybe leave it outside to weather even more.... or coat it with yogurt to grow moss. I would have taken the straw hat with the dusty rose flower. I use to make scarecrows years ago for my friends when the OshGosh little boy jean overalls were really in. I would use their child's overall and a little plaid shirt. I would take an old pillowcase to make the inside body to stuff. Then tie the sleeves and legs with raffia and put a little straw hat on a covered styrofoam ball head covered in burlap. It was such a personal gift. Sitting next to a large pumpkin, it was adorable. ! When Leah liked the little gingerbread house, there was a tiny santa mug next to it. I have one and use it for toothpicks on my holiday charcuterie board. The material would make an incredible lumbar pillow, especially with the painting.
I love your thrifting videos. You have such great ideas on thrifts items. I loved the outfit you had on as well as Leah’s. Also, your pumpkin placements in the garden look so charming.
Love the table runner….pillow…Jean patch. Those colors are amazing. I love thrifting and my adult daughter is finally on board. I’ve told her for years to buy great vintage furniture for pennies on the dollar. Quality is so much better than most things produced today.
Linda, to remove the hard water mineral stains on glass, try vinegar and water. If that does not work, visit your local glass company for their cleaners for hard water mineral deposits. I've worked in a glass company, and we install glass shower enclosures. People often had one that we remove that had been ruined from those stains and they want what we have been using, Showerguard glass, that's not going to have those stains. Please try this and you should be happy with the results.
Regarding the cloudy vase- it's difficult to tell without assessing it in person, however, unfortunately many times the cloudiness is permanently etched into the glass surface and cannot be removed. (Not saying that's the case here, but I don't buy cloudy glass for that reason.) There are many factors which can cause this, including hard water or other chemicals which could have been added to the water. It might not feel scratched, however the etching occurs at a microscopic level. This is one reason why I've never used cleaners of any kind on my shower doors; at approximately 15 years old, they are still clear and gleam like they've just been installed. ( And no bar soap either, only liquid.) And that's MY tip of the day. 😄
Use (limeaway) in a green bottle for removing hard water scale from what ever your vase your coffee maker.. when tap water evaperates over n over you'll get that. Use a soft scour pad to scrub. Not SOS pad! Steel wool will scratch. Also different fyi laundry bleach will remove coffee stains in cups n cleans your kitchen sink
Line inside your cloudy vase with paper towel, then saturate paper towel with 2 or 3 tablespoons of CLR. Let sit for an hour or 2, then finish scrubbing (with gloves on). It Works.😊
Sometimes the water scale comes from washing them in the dishwasher. I have had this happen several times and cannot get it out either!! Trash they go. You probably already got an answer to the glass frogs but my Grandma always told me they were called glass frogs because they live in water like a frog. lol
That same table runner is for sale at Evergreen Christian Outreach thrift store in Evergreen, Colorado. I volunteer there and saw it a couple of days ago. Priced $5
Ha Linda !!! I so love you and the time you placed and raised your boys in the home you left and sold to a younger generation. She has tore the generation you raised your boys in the home and the gardening front and back. It just hurts my heart the time ive followed you it tore apart inside and out😢😢😢😢😢😢
Oh my gosh! I’ve had that problem before and never thought about doing the following for this too. My mechanic brother Jesse, ages ago, suggested cleaning cloudy vehicle headlights with mosquito repellent with Deet. It worked! Do not let overspray fall on vehicle paint or precious surfaces. Especially with your vehicle, it’s best to spray onto paper towel and then wipe cloudy surface. FYI: I specifically keep that type repellent for headlights and deep woodland hikes.
Cuuute. Love the way Leah says cute. And the Stewart banter is gorgeous 😂😂 you're lucky to have such fun friends to shop with. Loved all the great finds
Try vinegar to remove cloud from vase. Trying mixing with half water half vinegar. U may have to do vinegar ony. Let sit 519 to 15 minutes, pour out n wash with warm water n dish soap.
2:17 mark passed by wire mesh basket. I grab those for plant protectors in spring when hostas and other plants tender and tasty for the bunnies!!! Also wire mesh waste baskets
Definitely go for red basket, rectangle basket with handles, and basket with handle, but the prices were low enough I would get all, use them and resonate after you get bored with them. Baskets used for gifts at Christmas and birthdays have been a go to for me for years. Folks are always so pleased, especially those who are serious recyclers, or repurposers. This was a fun video. Been away from my IPad for nearly a month so doing a bit of binging to get caught up🌹with Linda st al😊
It looks like your weather's really nice. Here in Southern CA we've had day after day of fog and clouds, and some areas have gotten light rain - I'm hoping we will as plants love it.
I believe the little pot with the holes in the lid is a garlic pot and to remove the cloudiness on the vases try CLR. Any hardware store or even your grocery store should have it.
Try using 2 tablespoons ammonia and warm water. Fill vase just past the etched area then add ammonia. if that doesn't work I have used a cut lemon to rub the deposits off.
I removed the cloudiness from glassware is with Clorox. I get a cotton ball & spread inside a glassware, then add two tablespoons of Clorox with one teaspoon of dish washing liquid. I leave for two hours and I take a damp cloth to clean and the glassware is sparkly cleaned.🙏
OMG!!! Leah the love letters!! That was hilarious!! How quick you are!!😂I think we just saw an inside look at how completely sweet and funny you can be😂😂...if we didn't know better we would swear you were Linda's actual daughter❤
I use white vinegar to remove the cloudiness from glassware. We have hard water so it's often mineral deposits that cause the cloudiness. Try it out! Cheap and non-toxic
I’ve had good luck using the glass top cleaner for cooktops to clean foggy glassware. I also use it to clean soap scum off of my shower doors. Makes cleaning those doors a breeze!
Your thrifting videos are my second favorite to gardening.
Thank you 👻
I learn how to put items together in a way I would never have thought of. ❤
Hey friends! I have a show idea: It would be awesome for Linda to do a Q & A with Leah and Stewart. I'd love to know some background and how their journey led them to The Vater Cottage! 🥰
Okay!
Stewart could even wear a Halloween mask or something to hide his face!
Or peak over a fence.
I Wanna see Stewart!
Love this idea
Always love it when you three crazy kids get together and do anything sooo much fun ❤
I’m loving Leah’s humorous side coming out 😉.. she’s “quick” lol
Yes she’s good fun
Linda. You found some great things thrifting. You and Leah are great as thrifting. So much fun. Thanks for sharing new finds!
I've had good luck with distilled white vinegar as a means to get rid of stains on glass. Fill the vase with vinegar, let sit for a few hours (or overnight), and then wash with soap.
Here to echo this. Vinegar works really well on hard water marks.
I agree with the vinegar, unless the glass has become etched over time, which sometimes happens if the glass has been washed frequently in the dishwasher.
I was here to say the same.
Definitely soak it in vinegar😊
Use a Magic Eraser too.
Leah is so sophisticated, youthful...stylish....Linda...great choice to compliment your youtube videos a refreshing addition!
The Santa boots would be so cute with a fir or evergreen mini tree plant in it ! I would buy that in a minute!
I’ve had luck removing water scale from vases with CLR (calcium-lime-rust) remover. It’s nasty stuff, but it works.
Linda, I love your TH-cam channel. Been watching you for years. You are so kind and classy. Thank you for all your wonderful information and ideas. Love your knew home. It's absolutely gorgeous! And I love your neighborhood too, so beautiful! Thank you for all you do!!

I looked all over for one of those Santa feet bowls last year and never found one! I wish I could find one now! Get that thing!
I really enjoyed this video. It was fun to watch you, Leah and Stewart all shopping together.
Magic erasers will remove the cloudiness from the glass. Use it to scrub and then rinse. They work great in hard water deposits on wi does and glass shower doors.
to get the cloudy off get the pink stuff it works and doesn't even take much if any elbow work ... work so great on my glass shower doors
I ADORE your thrifting videos!❣️KEEP THEM COMING!☺️ Lots of great finds, looking forward to seeing what you bought!! Many thanks Linda! 🍁🍂

Love big baskets. Put a large basket in a concealed place and when you bring in the mail before you set down any junk mail you can put it the basket 🧺
Itś fun when you 3 are together, I hope you bought ALL of those baskets you were looking at!!
The three of you are so fun! Enjoyed watching the thrifting and hearing the ideas. 😊
Y mindset has really expanded watching these thrifting videos ❤
Love going thrifting with Linda, Leah, and Stewart. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and you gave us so many great ideas about how to use items you find at the thrift store 👍🏼👍🏼😊
I love your thrifting video commentary! You have a great eye and have so many creative suggestions for the use of each item.

Put the red pick flowers in christmas tree, on mantel with garland or in wreath

You could have 2 lunbar pillows...a pair is always great for carrying those colors around a room or area.
“That category has a lot of stuff in it”…good one Stuart! True for me with baskets!
I use Lemi Shine on my glass ware when it is cloudy. Mix with warm water and let it soak.
Use Mr. Eraser to remove the cloudiness from your vases.
Just found you, loved your basket hunting!Love how we think about good reasons, talking ourselves into a new treasure.
I add a little Oxiclean and hot water to my vases and let them soak. They come out beautifully!
Love the table runner….pillow…Jean patch. Those colors are amazing. I love thrifting and my adult daughter is finally on board. I’ve told her for years to buy great vintage furniture for pennies on the dollar. Quality is so much better than most things produced today.

Extra extra fun video today with Leah and Stewart! Can't wait till Sunday to see your new treasures! 👏👏 Linda
Sometimes, I don’t know that I need a thing, until I see it 😉
The fruit basket could be painted to resemble a concrete piece and be fun

Thank you!
Try a bit of gritty Comet or Bar Keepers Friend on the cloudy glass. Just don’t rub too hard, and rinse thoroughly.
Your thrifted Santa feet bowl is very similar to Pottery Barn's "Elf Stoneware Punch/Candy Bowl" for $69. Good find!
Baking soda and soft scrubbie.

I really like Linda’s ring with blue stone! I love rings❤️❤️❤️❤️
Priced $5
I say get all the baskets(can never have too many) and get the resin flower bouquet for the back patio area.
That suede table runner was a gem. Think long and hard before you cut it to make pillows. I can see teal blue dishes and anything fall with it.
Ha Linda !!! I so love you and the time you placed and raised your boys in the home you left and sold to a younger generation. She has tore the generation you raised your boys in the home and the gardening front and back. It just hurts my heart the time ive followed you it tore apart inside and out😢😢😢😢😢😢
Oh my I enjoyed this video! Thanks for the trip to Goodwill!
My mother always called the cloudy glass "sick glass".
I think the first pot was for keeping garlic cloves in your kitchen
Love the pillow idea!
Yay! Thank you!
Nice idea to turn that piece of fabric into a long lumbar pillow for your sofa. It does go beautifully with it.
Santa bowl so cute and fun.
Oh my gosh! I’ve had that problem before and never thought about doing the following for this too. Thoroughly enjoyed this video, so beautiful, thank you!
That was fun! Thank you for sharing
I soak my vases in vinegar for 24 hrs and then, more vinegar and scrub with a scotch- brite pad, followed by washing in the dishwasher.
This was so fun. What a great team!
I fill the vase with white vinegar and just let it soak until it wipes clean.
Cuuute. Love the way Leah says cute. And the Stewart banter is gorgeous 😂😂 you're lucky to have such fun friends to shop with. Loved all the great finds
I think the residue is hard water. Hot water with baking soda and vinegar works for me.
Try vinegar to remove cloud from vase. Trying mixing with half water half vinegar. U may have to do vinegar ony. Let sit 519 to 15 minutes, pour out n wash with warm water n dish soap.
Love love the thrifting look forward to seeing tomorrow
2:17 mark passed by wire mesh basket. I grab those for plant protectors in spring when hostas and other plants tender and tasty for the bunnies!!! Also wire mesh waste baskets
Spray paint them all uniform dark charcoal
1:50 - the vase Leah found is Juliska and it’s expensive!! Score!!
Definitely go for red basket, rectangle basket with handles, and basket with handle, but the prices were low enough I would get all, use them and resonate after you get bored with them. Maybe use CLR to remove the hard water rings from flower arrangements left to sit in the water too long.
On my clear baking dishes I use a magic eraser. I’d try it on the vases.
It looks like your weather's really nice. Here in Southern CA we've had day after day of fog and clouds, and some areas have gotten light rain - I'm hoping we will as plants love it.
STUART ROCKS THE NATION !!
I would try an SOS pad to take off the cloudy film on vase. It’s a round steel wool pad that has a cleaner in it 😊
I believe the little pot with the holes in the lid is a garlic pot and to remove the cloudiness on the vases try CLR. Any hardware store or even your grocery store should have it.
Leah, the vessel with the holes in top is a pomander jar.
The little figurine that was missing his instrument - you could keep a fresh cut flower in his hands. He’d look like he was smelling the flower. 💕
Try using 2 tablespoons ammonia and warm water. Fill vase just past the etched area then add ammonia. if that doesn't work I have used a cut lemon to rub the deposits off.
Love, love, love the table runner! Excited to see what your going to end up doing with it.
You guys need a NYC road trip and film a fishs eddy and abc carpet and home hauls, among all the other upholstery and sewing / garment districts.
That basket is really neat and could be used in many places.
Hi Linda! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤! Love these thrifting vlogs just as much as the walk abouts, and all the rest! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love these thrifting videos. You gals and Stewart are so much fun.
That little jar with holes is a garlic keeper
I wish you had inserted a picture of the scarecrow family you made😊
I love the thrifting videos and seeing what you do with your finds!
That was so much fun !!!
Barkeepers friend will take it off Linda 😊
This residue in the vase could be lime. Vinegar helps against this if you leave it on overnight.
Try white vinegar on the glass vases it helps remove hard water.
Way to go Linda with the Santa Pants! I bought mine at Hobby Lobby three years ago, I put candy in it during the Christmas season for people at work!
Vintage glass will cloud when washed frequently in the dishwasher and vinegar hasn’t been successful in removing it for me.
After you try cleaning glass with all those methods that you mentioned, Linda, try Barkeepers Friend with a little elbow grease before you give up.
Great tip!
I wish my Goodwill was like yours.......
