The older students on the school bus really took charge and handled that situation incredibly. Comforting the smaller children and then escorting them out of the back of the bus to safety was incredible to watch. Those kids parents should be incredibly proud. Shame on that bus driver.

Some of them could have been trained to do so, there are a lot of schools that train people to be a type of authourity called Bus Patrollers/Safetys. I was one for two years, we were trained for these things.

As a mother of 4, it absolutely broke my heart to watch the faces of the two smaller kids at the front. So sad 😞. It’s an absolute privilege to be entrusted with the lives of any persons child/children. You should respect that privilege, always. She deserved more than 90 days in prison.
It broke my heart seeing them babies crying 😢 i have 2 little girls and a boy.
I'm so glad those older kids had the ability to stay calm and the ability to help the kids. They are going to do great things I feel like.

The driver was very lucky that the parents of the children didn't get together and pay her a visit. And her defense attorney stating "nobody was hurt"... Only because the older children prevented it!

Omg, I really hope the teen students who got the driver to stop were recognized for their bravery. In this time of rampant selfishness I'm so impressed with the older students comforting the younger children & getting everyone off safely when the adult who should have been in charge of their safety was drunk. Truly horrifying.

We NEED these shields in our NYC buses. This looks like a full body/entrance between the passengers and driver. Awesome idea, Why hasn't anyone thought of installing them. Our drivers need to be protected ASAP!
Elizabeth Torres I lived in England for two years, the buses there have a little door with a shield cover that opens and closes to shut the driver in for their safety.

I'm a bus driver in London and all I can say is THANK GOD for the protective shield! It's getting more and more dangerous on the streets of London. Too many crazy people out there. I've been in many situations where having the protective shield has saved my life.

@T Wilson it's not the voice for me actually, he has a nice voice and pitch. It's the disjointed reading with the odd breaks in the sentences that I have issues with. He doesn't have that on the videos on Instagram where he speaks freely, so I guess it only occurs when he reads off a script. I've found speeding the video on YT up to 1.75 or 2 makes it better as the gaps in the sentences are much less pronounced and the sentences flow better.

I REALLY HOPE that the older children who managed to get the drunk bus driver to stop were commended for their ability to stay calm and act in the appropriate manner as far as making sure the younger children were safe and calling the police were concerned. That was a day that they put one HELLUVA LOT of adults to shame!!! I don't know if you ever watch these videos and read these messages, but (for want of a better term) youngsters, you should be DAMNED proud of yourselves for what you managed to achieve that day!!! If it wasn't for your actions, a life or lives could have been lost!!!

One time I was waiting for a bus in the city late at night. While I waited, I decided to smoke a bit of weed. As it turns out, that bit of weed ended up being a little too much for me. By the time the bus showed up, I was higher than the Hubble space telescope. Again it was around midnight so I was the only one on the bus. I sat at the very back of the bus with my legs casually spread. I started getting really cold and paranoid and started shivering uncontrollably. I was fine but I felt bad for the bus driver. Like imagine doing your job late at night and some schmuck gets on your bus and starts convulsing and dancing like he’s possessed. Don’t do drugs kids.

Alcohol has a way of affecting your judgement, which is why most people who drink too much end up making poor life choices. There's a reason why drinking and driving is illegal.
