That tornado hit our neighbors and destroyed several houses starting next to us for a few miles as it made its way east. We were down in an underground shelter that had Wi-Fi and was able to watch until the power went out. By that time, we could see it in our back field.

The guy who attempted to self-immolate seems to be abusive to go that far. There is probably a reason his ex fled with her son.
We won't know for sure, parental alienation does seriously damaging things to fathers that love their kids. This could have also been a case of the mother wanting to spite the father by moving far away knowing he would be hurt by it, and then him going insane from the grief.

Since Kent Clark (Superman) was a reporter on news, he would still stop the criminal from disaster and save the day on live TV.
I'm betting it was his survival instincts kicking into high gear. He likely realized he shouldn't try to overcome him and instead follow the commands until the cops arrived.

@@yellowashrose3794 Oh wow. It happens here in Missouri too. Joplin hit too soon for reporters to get it. We have very good weatherman and weatherwomen though. We have Ron Hearst and Abby Dyer and they give very good warnings.

With the lion one... There were signs. That lion was very interested in that kid. Ears forward, eyes locked, head following movement. Whether its because it recognized a weaker food source or thought it was an odd toy it hadn't been around before that entire situation was avoidable.

I live in Tupelo, yeah he's an awesome weatherman. I was watching that day, thankfully the tornado missed our house back then.

I’m from Pontotoc, MS, right next to Tupelo in number 7’s clip! It was shocking to see my local weatherman on one of these lists! I was watching this when it happened, and it was a very scary day for all of us. That tornado damaged my brother’s and grandmother’s house. That clip won him an Emmy (maybe two?).
By the way, it’s pronounced “two-pell-oh”, and the horrendous pronunciation made me cackle. It’s always fun hearing people that aren’t from the South pronouncing names of southern places.

Anyone who knows anything about cats knows that putting a lion and a fidgety toddler in a room together is a bad idea. The way the little girl's feet swing when she is moved by her mother would make my indoor domestic cat go into ambush mode and she has never even eaten raw meat. A cat is as likely to attack a small moving objects as an infant is to suckle.

I was 5 Years old and living in Rockford Illinois when that tornado hit. I remember a lot of brutal tornado storms while living there but some of them were pretty intense.
