I work in the Indian IT sector. My onsite counterpart in the US is a Pakistani from Karachi. He moved to the US some 15 years back and has never visited Pakistan since 2017 (after his mother died). He is still on H1b as the green card application is is still pending. He works so hard (and probably the smartest among us) , I see him online most of the times. When I ask him, he says I need this Job more than anyone else here. I don't want to end up in a situation where Im forced back to Karachi. His take was that, his country's business environment favours those who are ready to blend in with the bureaucracy. Or you can choose to be a middle class corporate employee serving them by paying income tax and not expecting any quality public services in return.
For an honest, innovative, straight and forward thinking young entrepreneur, that is no place.

Pakistan did not start declining in 1980s, Pakistan started decling when the 90s started.
The reason for this was the Elite, this video is talking about, came into power under the guise of democracy.
The military was corrupt, but still retained a small amount of loyalty to Pakistan. The Elite families which ruled Pakistan in the 90s, were just as corrupt as the military BUT had ZERO loyalty towards Pakistan. They just stole and stole and stole, and did nothing that would benefit Pakistan in the long run and actively destoryed every industry and institution in Pakistan. The military, while corrupt, at least did some good for the country.
Most of the largest industrial units, Manufacturing policies, Agricultural revolution, Media revolution, were all created by Military.
Pakistan's curse is Elite Class Democrats are twice as corrupt as the corrupt Military.
Imran Khan is the only democratic force that can save Pakistan, because the other Elite Dynastics wearing the garb of democracy have only plundered Pakistan and parked their wealth abroad.

Don’t give too much credit to an average Muslim. It is the sheer negligence and corruption of the previous Indian establishments which created a favourable opinion for Pakistan among the Kashmiris. Under Modi things have changed a lot. I recently visited the place and I found the people doing just fine. There was also no bitterness towards the numerous Indian tourists visiting from the rest of the country. Everywhere I found the Kashmiris behaving quite nicely with the tourists and there was no pretence in their behaviour. They were genuine. Also, there is no hardcore Islamism there. I only saw a few Kashmiris with long beards and traditional Kashmiri attire. Burqa clad women were also a rarity although the dressing of women was conservative with their head covered. All the local administration is in the hands of Kashmiris as is also the businesses including the hotels, restaurants, shops, houseboats, shikaras, taxis and so on. I also found the local women working in hotels, restaurants and moving freely on the streets. And let me say that the valley area of Kashmir is very developed . It looks like a tier 2 city of India. I am assuming that things have changed for the better since Article 370 was removed and that things were not so good previously but this is just my guess.

Joining of Kashmir has nothing to do with economy! Neither is it important for every ambitious thing to occur with money! We've done it before and we'll do it again! We got half of Kashmir when our government didn't had money to buy staple pins so our founding father collected thorns from forest and used them collect framework of constitution. We got every trouble in the world and yet in the same year took half of Kashmir untill India ran to united nations and a ceasefire was called. Remember we didn't had food to feed millions of refugees who flocked into Pakistan after it's formation, but we did it! Later when we got separated in 1970s we pledged to make nukes to protect our sovereignty, we had the worst time then too, still we said we'll protect our sovereignty even if we had to eat leaves of trees. We made it though we had to go through really hard grind. So never underestimate Pakistan as you always did. Remember India doesn't have any land it captured from Pakistan ever, but Pakistan captured and possess 10,000 km squares of land in kach Sindh region despite being a 7 times smaller country! Don't arrogantly boast about things if you've got a few pennies in pocket, learn something from history atleast.

Religion is why Pakistan is failing, but not how you would think. The corrupt politicians don't have morals, they're so called "muslims". When an actual Muslim politician tries to rival them, they fail because they have morals according to Islam (not taking bribes, not bribing, no corruption etc etc) and thus cannot gain enough power as the wealthy corrupt politicians. For a politician to rival a corrupt politician they either have to be extremely lucky or just as corrupt to get any chances. Imran Khan tried to take many actions against the army generals but he ultimately failed because he was a honest uncorrupted man. Also side note, Pakistan is not shariah, it's secular

To call Pakistan a country is in itself a misnomer. Pakistan was carved out of India by a bunch of Muslim feudal lords who wanted a land of their,& used religion for the same....! post Independence from the British india had announced that land reforms would be pushed in that would eventually mean end to feudalism.
This was not exactly a fair partition as the Muslims who were instrumental in creating Pakistan, stayed back in India. The irony is that now India has more muslims than Pakistan!!!! So where was the partion on religious identity.??? This itself exposes the sham.
The situation today is no different as these feudal lords occupy both the political posts & the army !!
There's no concept of governance in Pakistan...the only thing they do is beg- borrow- steal. The only difference is that their masters have now changed from the British to the Chinese & Americans.
