  • This video is about the rich motorcycle history of Czechoslovakia. Before the Second World War, Czechoslovakia was one of the most industrially developed countries, as evidenced by the quality and quantity of motorcycle manufacturers.

Czechs have alway been great engineers. They have produced almost everything at the highest standards! Cars, trucks, motocrcycles, guns, pistols.... Everything which has something to do with engineering has been beautifully built by those extraordinary people!

Interesante aplicación de la luz generada por la combustión de acetileno en una motocicleta. Motor company 1000 model. Gracias por compartir¡¡¡¡

Thanks for this, there were a few makes I hadn't heard of. The CZ and the Ogar are particularly handsome, and that Böhmerland would have me studying how it works for hours! That's my weakness with veteran bikes in general - so many engineers tried different things, and some of the dead ends are fascinating. Spiral clock spring front suspension, sir...? 😂

Thankyounfor a very interesting and well put together video. First time I have actually seen films if some of these machines. Before 1939 Czechoslovakia had the best of reputations of all forms of engineering. Now getting that reputation back again I had for a short time 500/cc twin cylinder four stroke double overhead camshaft Jawa, of the 1950 /60 era. Headlamp nacelle similar to an English Triumph.. Interesting to see the early form of “disc brake” on the rear of the early machines. Again Thank you.

Cool bikes. Really wanted a CZ 250 twin expansion chambered motocross bike back during the mid-60s.

This is one of the best motorcycle videos I have seen. The video details of the machines, and the accompanying literature made it a joy.
During the video, I sadly came to the understanding why worldwide motorcycle invention and production fell by the wayside, especially when the Japanese brands began developing.
The non-Japanese machines had VERY complicated bodies. Yes the engines were complicated also, but the frames were heavy, and had too many parts. This started since an engine was added to a bicycle ! More and more parts were being added to the frame. Maybe, the complicated frames attracted attention at the time.......I do not know. While military inputs/ requirements are to be considered also, some of the examples in the video were closely related to trucks. Too, the evolution of a less-complicated, modern, more efficient, simple-to-work-on, lighter engine was taking too long. Inefficient, cumbersome engines remained with the Czech machines for too long.
The Japanese motorcycles were the essence of simplicity and function. Over time it progressed to where it is today.
Sadly, the competition died.........like these Czech machines. However seeing these early machines gives wonderful insight into the genius and creativity in the minds of the Czech people. It is a legacy that they are left with to show the world. It is a pity that building a motorcycle like a Peterbilt did not leave their engineering minds earlier.
    Thanks for a delightful video.
    Respect to all.
    Regards.

Dear Tino, you may mention that this video was taken in Prague's Technical Museum (Národní technické muzeum) - only. But there are some very interesting places too. Please visit in Mlada Boleslav the Skoda Museum where are some different and extremely beautiful motorcycles (Laurin & Klement) are presented. And last but not least, regarding your Nickname here: please create a video from your visit at Jawa Museum Konopiště, Konopiště 30, 256 01 Benešov, which is not far from Prague. It is small but contents a lot of very interesting vehicles. Best wishes to you and a big "Thank you!"

Me chamou bastante atenção o conceito da BEKAMO 1924, veja este link www.amazon.com.br/Bicicleta-Motorizada-WMX-Sport-Bikelete/dp/B07S9SLFR2, a WMX lembra um pouco a Bekamo.
