I rarely comment but I’ve been having a tough week and this video notification popped up during my shift right as I was going on break, these overhead videos are sosoo soothing! really appreciate the thoughtfulness with which you approach consumerism, feeling extra grateful for your presence on the internet and all the hard work you do. hope you’re having a great night❣️
The review for the Hard Candy quads is the perfect example of the value in honest reviews. The sheerness of the dark shades make them more usable for how I wear makeup. The review wasn’t a bad review…just an honest one. The result is that the product will be better matched for its user.
I think when they say Mimosa they're referring to mimosa trees which do have a lot of Pinks in their flowers. But now I want a mimosa as in, the drink!
I've been waiting for Urban Decay to break out of their Naked rut and start a new series of palettes (and possibly other product categories). I think the format, packaging and formula of Stoned Vibes is very pretty but also easily recognizable, so it had great potential for a new palette series. I also think Vibes is a more versatile theme that would work with any color story opposed to Naked.
Yes to depotting the BH cosmetics palette. I depotted the travel palettes I had to use as singles. The shimmers and light mattes were easy to depot without any damage. I cracked almost every dark matte. Maybe the dark mattes are a little drier? I saw something online about using alcohol to keep them moist while depotting. Not sure if it works, but it’s supposed to help prevent the cracking.
With depotting, mattes tend to break more easily than shimmers. So, if you love the mattes, tread carefully. One idea I had was to heat up a baking pan and then set a palette on it to evenly and more easily warm up the glue throughout the palette. I can't say how well it works, though. I decided I was more of a palette girl. I'd typically rather just mix my palettes.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful eyeshadow collection 😍 If I depot palettes, I use a hairdryer to warm up the glue. Then I put a needle in the gap between the shadow and the packaging. If the shadow doesn't pop out, I reheat it with the hairdryer until the glue is melted. This method works really well for me because I don't ruin the packaging. Will you film the proces of depotting? I find it relaxing to watch those videos 😅
if you're having trouble blending out a shade, try laying down a very thin layer that you immediately blend out on the edges first. so basically lay down your blending shade (depending on the look you're going for and the shade you're having trouble with as well as the placement of thr shade this could be a shade close to your skin tone, your crease color, etc.), then you start of with barely any colour of your problem shade (i'm talking no more than a hint of pigment) that you blend into your lighter shade. then you can build up without worrying about disturbing the shade too much.
I've just checked the Revolution app (UK) and they have 64 BH eyeshadow palettes, some of them like the Mimosa one have a reduced price. Shortly after the acquisition of the company Revolution stated that they wouldn't change the formula for the BH palettes, whether they are applying it or not I don't know. When I want those corals and pinks from the Mimosa palette to look more orangey I just mix them with the yellow. TFS your beautiful collection Sarah. Isabel 💛
That Estate palette is gonna get me someday. 😏 Re: depotting, different palettes have different results, even within the same brand. One thing that works for me with any brand is putting a drop of rubbing alcohol in any pan that you think is in danger of breaking (e.g. soft mattes).
This was so relaxing! 🥰 I'm a singles girl, so I only have one palette, and it's the ColourPop Miss Bliss. I bought it after seeing your Miss Bliss video and I love it so much! It was really out of my comfort zone, but now it's my favorite little treasure in the summer time. 💜🌻🦋✨
i bought one of those wet n wild palettes because of your recommendation and i'm liking it a lot so far☺ i was debating to get the gold one but i don't really wear warm tones, let alone warm neutrals so i got the more grungy one,
I love the Flower Beauty, but the size of the pans is crazy to me. I don’t mind a complete shimmer palette, but there is no reason to have a pan that large. Jungle lights is my favorite. The 2 purples are my favorite.
I have depotted bh pallettes and i have like only 1% casualty rate (among the dryer mattes, so be a bit extra careful with them). step 1: remove the outerlayer from the 'square' on which the shadows are. Step 2: you'll see the edges of the wrapper of the outer packaging of that 'square'' in the back once it is removed from the outer shell, so remove it. You'll then see that there are 3 thicker cardboard layers around the shadows themselves and a base layer on which the eyeshadows are glued on. step 3: remove the top cardboard layers from the base layer, those are not connected to the shadows themselves, so this step should be easy. You'll be left with a base cardboard with the shadows glued on top. step4: you can either cut the base layer (if you don't want to keep the palette) and keep it as the bottom of the shadows or very carefully with a knife separate the eyeshadows from the base cardboard. The glue is quite sticky, so it is def doable, once you get a hang of it is really okay. If you want to keep the palette packaging as well, just be a bit slower with the steps, try during step 3 to remove the cardboard layers in one single piece (def possible), then add a magnettic sheet on the bottom layer after step 4 and glue back all the pieces in the same order. This is how I have mine rearranged - i have done it to like 3 or 4 palettes, works like a charm :)
a quick comment - heating up the glue wont help here bcs the packaging is completely paper/cardboad, and not plastic, so you could set your makeup on fire accidentally :)
I keep hoping that BH Cosmetics will release some more new products, especially eye shadow palettes. Those quads they released not long after selling to MR didn't get great reviews though, but I'm unsure if they'd held those back because they weren't finished with them, or if MR actually used one of their crappy formulas on them. But I did see the Lost in Los Angeles and the Puerto Rico palettes, and the Belgian Waffle cheek palette at my local TJ Maxx the other day. Also, strangely, a GXVE Beauty eyeshadow quad.
Using the ‘Just a Girl’ GXVE palette shocked me! I liked it so much I ended up buying (2) more and am on the hunt for the 4th palette which is Rich Girl. I wish I just bought them all when I first saw them but I am on this mission to actually try a formula first before buying several so I don’t have crap in my collection. The look I did was just so ‘rich’ looking and I don’t mean the most pigmented. I mean that it looked very high end and luxury. Whoa! Lol!
@@R.L.Maverick I will say the one I saw was actually pretty. Even though I’m sure I have those colors a bunch of times over, I nearly bought it because it’d be great for travel!
If someone really wants the shades in the ELF Rose Water quad, I am pretty sure they are the same as 4 of the shades in the ELF Rose Gold Nude palette. I never got the Rose Water because I already had the Rose Gold Nude, and that palette is still going strong for me.
I watched your quarterly spending update and now this one. (I’m so out of order and behind on my YT videos). I’m curious if you think part of what’s kept your spending low is receiving more PR than you used to? (Maybe you’re receiving the same amount, but it has seemed like more) Just curious!
My spending has stayed at a similar place for the past several years so I don’t think so! I think living in an expensive city and not having much disposable income has more to do with it 😅
@SarahRoseBeauty I don't watch very much Will I Buy it content anymore, so I only saw it because Heather Austin was testing them out. I hust love the packaging, but I don't think the color stories are quite for me. I was impressed with how the yellow matte performed. I think Heather may have used a white primer, though. The one with the blue and yellow reminds me of an old Ofra 5 pan palette, just a little less bold. Which really. I prefer. The hot pink with the yellow and blue had me a little confused about how you would use the colors together.
Idk if Earth and Ocean can be found at Target or Walmart, but it's not on their website anymore. I got really preoccupied with looking into what I would buy if I had to replace my collection for $100 or less after watching your video, and I was sad it's no longer available.
@SarahRoseBeauty It's too bad! It seemed like a good palette with a lot to offer someone on a budget. Maybe E.L.F has something fun in the works to replace it.
BH is made in china which means lots of glue and not magnetic. If you depot them, you need to be very careful. The tins are super thin too. I personally do not depot any PRC products. It always goes poorly.
It's better to not depot the eyeshadows because you will ruin the palette and someone can have the chance to have the whole palette not with shades missing. You can find similar single eyeshadows.

I’m so sorry you’re having a tough week!! I hope it gets better 💗 thank you so much for the sweet comment; very grateful for your support!
Same, I love these collection videos where you get to hear the thoughts, see swatches, etc...
Hope your week(s) have gotten better!

Ahh thank you for the tips!! I definitely plan to film the process!
The “Oh Ship” shade from So Mermaizing is stunning! I’ve been drooling over it since you got it. I wish Klarity sold it as a single.
I agree that the small Essence palettes are much better than the elf bite size palettes.
Your nails are so cute!!!
My youngest cat just came to sit on me, so I guess I’m stuck for now 😂 thankfully, I just saw that you posted this video and I can fill my time ❤
Good morning! I was bored and refreshed my sub page and was so happy to see a palette collection video from you :)
Yay!! thank you for watching! 💗

Really cool how the BH St. Tropez palette looks a lot like a brighter version of Subculture
Oooh you’re right!!

Don't depot a BH cosmetics palette, I did it and it was a big mistake. They broke, they didn't magnetic, magnet won't stick on the pan. Big mistake.
