Are Tesla's price cuts BAD news? Depreciation hit and subscription pricing risk

Tesla has cut prices globally, including in the US. But, is this actually a good move. It appears to both compress Tesla's margins and could (ironically) be bad news. It could cause more depreciation for existing owners, raises the spectre of more price gouging/subscription services, while also compressing Tesla's margins.
