  • What do flight attendants notice about you when you board? They notice a few important details in less than 10 seconds.
They notice if you’re their colleague, your general health condition is important to them, they can tell how many weeks a pregnant woman is, they care if you’re nice to them, and they do remember if you’re unfriendly.

    TIMESTAMPS:
    They’ll notice if you’re their colleague 0:23
They’ll check out your reading material 0:45
Your age is a big deal 1:45
Your health condition is important to them 2:35
They care if you’re nice to them 3:25
They do remember if you’re unfriendly 3:45
Avoiding eye contact speaks volumes 4:10
They notice how you treat other passengers 4:30
They will know if you're aerophobic 5:30
The way you’re dressed can make a difference 6:06
They can single out frequent flyers 7:34
    SUMMARY:
    - If you’re a doctor coming back from a medical conference with a pile of medical leaflets or like to read medical journals aboard, the crew will know about your occupation even if you don’t say a word.
    - An experienced flight attendant will always see if you cheated and persuade you to have your over-sized bags relocated to the luggage compartment.
    - The flight crew will always take record of how many unaccompanied minors are traveling today to give them extra attention and care.
    - Flight attendants are trained to notice signs and symptoms of sickness. They are entitled to ask you for a medical certificate to prove it’s nothing serious.
    - They have to say “hello” over a hundred times per flight, and they really appreciate if you care to say the same back at them once.
    - The grumpy passengers are marked as possibly hostile. Flight attendants will know not to ask these people for help in case of an emergency.
    - Speaking too fast or too slowly, hesitating when asked the most basic questions and dropping in a lot of interjections are all clear signs of anxiety.
    - If you’re always nervously smiling or laughing, squeezing your armrest, or playing with your headphone cord, flight attendants will guess you have aerophobia.
    - If you are well-dressed and well-groomed, you have higher chances of a class upgrade. It takes some style to travel in business and first, you know.
    - Flight attendants have a sharp eye and can notice if you’re trying to smuggle any forbidden items from Duty Free shop and use them during the flight.
    - They are smart enough not to make any conclusions based on just one thing, but when they put a few of them together it can help singling out the troublemakers.

Once I experienced that when I entered the aeroplane and reached the seat I booked (according to my ticket, as usual window side), someone was already sit there comfortably. While I asked her to check her ticket, it's definitely not for my seat but for another seat somewhere. But the flight attendant came and ASKED me to take another seat that I don't even know where to sit. The reason is the lady want to sit next to her friend whose seat is next to mine. All seats are full except that woman's seat in the back in the corner in the alley side. I refused to sit there, but I was treated like I was the one who break the rules. I insisted to get my seat as written in my ticket. Though I needed stand long to get it, but at least I made my point. I deserve my own seat as I booked and written in my ticket, as I will respect others for their own seat as written in their ticket. I really don't understand how a flight attendant can act like this, changing passengers seat number as she likes.

You did break the rules, the American culture rules of going along to get along and treating others the way you want to be treated. Your insistence of getting the seat you paid for made you appear rude, ignorant and unfriendly so that's why you received the mean treatment.

    • @irmaandriani7681

@@francesfisher795 how come? I become the one who's rude? By law and evidence I have the full right, I just didn't understand why the stewardess let the other person to take my seat, when she didn't even know where the place I should sit. She just told me that I can't sit to there and take another seat that she DIDN'T know any seat to put me in. Even if she knew she didn't even lead me the place. And didn't I have the clue which is the seat? IT IS against my right. First I paid to ticket, and I choose the seat the way I want, then suddenly you find you are in limbo you don't where to sit. It's a 9 hours flight, I know what I want during my journey.
I thought airways different from ordinary public transportation, where people can choose their seat anyway they want anytime.
And mind you, the person who asked the seat is not in any health condition that anyone should consider to do it. She was just a normal young person who unfortunately not happy being separate from her friend. Perhaps if she's in any specific and urgent condition (health and danger) I would consider nicely to give my seat in understanding. But there's no valid reason to do it. And you didn't even know how long I need to be stand for the stewardess to find the seat for me. That's be a totally an unprofessional service. I refused to be treated like that, and you call me rude? Well,
If it is ok happen to you, then I wish you will experience it more in the future 🙏 so you will be happy not being rude. Then you can share your experiences here to me how your beautiful flight is as a friendly American

I’ve been a flight attendant for 28 years . You have to be 15 yrs or older or older to sit in an emergency exit row, not 2! Also, we have no clue what trimester you’re in or ask for a certificate to verify. We do live kind passangers and will reward goid behaviours. However, we no longer have the ability to upgrade passangers. There is a list of upgrades that any passanger can access on their app and they know who is eligible to be placed in first class for next upgrade.

Flying has usually been an adventure for me. I love riding shotgun and watching the clouds and ground-scape drifting by, observing personalities in close quarters and occasionally forming short term friendships.
I've traveled many times between CA USA and Bulgaria and especially loved Balkan Airlines. They were not the cleanest most modern planes and the seats were awfully close, but these details were more than made up for by the wonderfully open and gregarious Bulgarian passengers who would share stories, home-made food and brandy brought along for the trip and their contagious laughter.
It was like being in the country long before arriving. The stewards kept my glass of rich Bulgarian merlo wine always full and the meals and snacks seemed to have been handmade by someone's baba (grandma).
On landing the entire cabin would break into robust applause for the pilots as soon as the nose touched down, a fitting tribute to their skill (although I've heard some people think it's crude and backward, people who obviously take life much too seriously, hrumph!).
Plus they were the last airline to ban smoking in flight, heh : )

I have been flying on commercial airline since before I can remember. I have been invited into the cockpit as a child, and chatted with the flight attendants on long flights (late at night when there was not much demand for service). On one occasion the lady flight attendant mentioned that she was worried one time when she was at their vacation home and a couple of males asked to speak to her husband. She didn't want to admit that she was alone, nor did she want to tell them to get lost (in case they were friends of her husband). I suggested a suitable response might be, "He doesn't like to be disturbed when he's cleaning the guns." It neither admits nor denies his presence, and might deter those with nefarious intent.

I’M ALWAYS COMPLIANT with their ideas. They are the professionals here and I want the flight to go as best it can. One time I spontaneously thanked them for all the things they would be doing for us, this was as we were seating. One came back later and offered me a free movie machine. Their job is not easy. I do enjoy the Asian carriers because when they speak with you they crouch down so that their face is across from your’s.
