Fly as early in the morning as possible. The first flight out is less likely to be delayed because the plane it already at the airport, not flying in from somewhere else. And if you live in a crowded city, it's less stressful to drive to airport before the morning rush hour -- you can always sleep on the plane.

Seriously, the ONLY time I did that was when hotel hopping in Europe, I didn't need my passport until I flew back to the States, and even then at my last hotel I went through my suitcase to grab my passport, literally the most important document you have out of the country

Always carry a pen in your carry-on luggage. There will be paperwork to be filled on arrival and not having a pen available will cause you delays to leave the airport.
Just always carry a pen. Always. Even if you're not flying, a pen always is useful, is never a burden, and losing it means virtually nothing (if it's a cheap ballpoint pen). There's pretty much no reason to not carry a pen everywhere you go!
Remember that some times when buying a carry on bag the detentions that the company gives does not include the wheels. You need to keep in mind the wheels do count for the over all size of the bag.

i once had a flight in the early morning so i drove to the airport pretty early just to realize that it was still closed. With me was a young lady with a baby and it was minus ten degrees outside. It took me half an hour to convince the security guy to let her in. I had to wait one more hour but now with a constant flow of hot coffee from a lovely flight attendant who watched the scene.
As an aviation geek I just love the whole experience of being at an airport. It’s the whole experience, what I always do is buy a check in bag and board last that way I don’t have to worry about overhead luggage. I understand you can’t probably do this easily if flying for business and very frequently but I would rather be early and relax than be stuck in a security line or for some delay to happen on the way to the airport.
My Airport Tips: 1. Arrive in the airport early as possible like 2 hours before the flight, in case security holds you off for a long time. 2. Never joke about terrorist attacks or bombs. Security and airport police won't take it as a joke, and you will get arrested. 3. Don't accept any luggage from strangers. Usually, luggage that you took from the strangers contain drugs or illegal substances, putting you in the big trouble. 4. Usually, I prefer using check-in kiosks at the airport to save time. 5. Leaving luggage unattended can trigger a terrorist alert. In addition, your luggage won't be there when you come back since it's been stolen. 6. Try to be in front of the gate 1 hour before the flight, so you can board without having a problem.

Put a sticker or label on your suitcase, especially if it’s a common color/pattern. This way, when collecting your luggage at your destination, you will know which suitcase is yours! 3. Especially if you’re going on a long flight and going to sleep, always keep your seatbelt on when in your seat. Have one responsible person in your group keep all the passports and tickets. It’s just easier, Trust me I hope these tips helped at least someone!
even if you put a lock on your check-in luggage, it's very, very easy for baggage handlers to take a pen and unzip your luggage and rezip it. better to get it cellophane wrapped after security ck and b4 going to check-in counter.
TSA in the US don't allow locks. I've had them cut off & bag checked several times. They leave a note telling you they examined it.. They also toss it like a salad leaving a mess.
Just got back from a trip and wanted to share that many places in the airport do NOT take cash anymore. Make sure you have a valid debit/credit card to pay for things like luggage, food, etc.
I recently made two mistakes while flying 1) I put my 2 passports in the travel bag...and $1,000 cash...then forgot to take it from airline counter. At security I discovered I was missing them. I ran back and fortunately they were still there at the same place I left them. Don't put cash and passports in the same place. 2) There was a Wendys restaurant...with free refills..I refilled 3 times and it was a super sized cup. During the flight I had to go 4 times to the bathroom...and since I had a middle seat I had to inconvenience the passenger who sat in the aisle seat...would not have been easier if I had aisle seat...so don't drink plenty of liquids if you have window or middle seat.
If you have a passport when asked for ID, when flying either International or Domestic, use it. Most people have their home address on there license/ID card. If the airport worker has friends who are thieves, they could call them and have them check out your place and rob it, as they know you aren't home. Another reason is that they could stalk you. Your passport is a legal Government ID, and it doesn't have your address on it. ... If you know that you will want water, take an empty waster bottle with you, as you can take it through security. Once on the other side, in many airports at the water fountains you can refill it. You really want to do this with the super discount airlines, as they will charge you for water on the fight. ...
I got question because of Empty water Bottles I never heard of it. If you refill it and can I take it inside the Airplane to the next airport or i need to finish it and refill it again in the next one?
@@justpaula3999 You don't need to finish it on the flight, so if you are connecting on another flight you can take it with you as long as you aren't going through security again. If you need to go through security again, just empty the bottle and refill it after you go through security again.
With online check in you don’t get to get boarding passes which I got a collection of and if u are a frequent flyer and silver or above u get complimentary baggage allowances
Credit card, boarding pass, ID, some cash all go into a pouch inside my shirt. Also, preventive peeing a short while before boarding. To go carry-on, wear the bulkiest clothes and shoes for more room in the bag. Leave toiletries at home. Pack meds in little bags, not their bottles. You can print out or take a phone pic of your Rx in case you are questionoed.
Before going to visit a friend in NM we mailed our clothes ahead of time. Once she confirmed the package arrived we felt comfortable just taking our carryon luggage with our medications and electronics, including my husband's BIPAP.
Connecting flights: Always bring an empty bottle with you and fill it up in the first flight with water, if your transit terminal does not offer free water refills. Water can cost 5-10 USD on some airport! Consume before you pass the transfer security check. (You will need to pass 1.5 hours before your next flight departure) Check-in: Check in online. After that, just use the baggage drop. DO NOT arrive at the checkin counter prior to opening it! (Usually 4 hours before the scheduled flight departure) Arrive around 1 hour before the check-in closes. (About 2 hours before flight departure) - This way most of the nervous (and unexperienced) passengers will be gone, and the check-in and baggage drop will be almost empty. Avoid going too late, as many people are lining up just before the check-in counter closes. If the check-in counter is about to close in 10-15 minutes, and the line is too long, you can go to the business checkin and ask them for an exception. They will grant it to you as they want to avoid you missing your flight. But Please do not abuse this exception, this is for real "emergencies" only.
Mmmm, nice advice about the timing, but you don't often have much choise. Airline or travel agent decides for you: cost/convenience comes before turbulence avoidance. And it's not like you frequently have 5 ot 6 flights a day to your destination, so you would pick the one suiting you.
Another tip: Don't fly hungry and dehydrated, to Florida, or anywhere else for that matter, unless you want to risk your bloodsugar dropping to zilch, losing consciousness and stopping breathing when the plane depressurizes as it begins descending and then with difficulty wake up to a beautiful doctor from India pounding on your chest telling you to come back and stay with her, followed by a whole lot of medically oriented privileges. Which, by the way, is common enough the paramedics there called it "Plane-itis" and said they see it every day. Ask me how I know. Wish I could thank that doctor. Maybe she will see this, you never know.
Never wear a new pair of shoes. As your feet tend to swell after long hours of sitting your new shoes are going to pinch you as they are still not broken in.
Most of the times, turbulance is caused by other planes as well. They create a small vortex at the wing tip. It will grow bigger and bigger. Thats why winglets are made. Plus, its usually caused by the difference between the air below and above the wing
Tying or hanging a coat or jacket (if you're not gonna wear it) to your carry on is going to help save up some if not a bit of space inside the bag and saves time when you need to use it during the flight. It may be a no brainer but a lot of first time flyers usually miss this tip.
#5 it's good to wrap in plastic if for example you have a box... But do it yourself before the flight to ensure it's biodegradable. We used this trick when moving between countries.... Also great for business when you're not taking brochures back etc.
My family used to live in the Middle East. To minimize jetlag, I preferred traveling from the US to Frankfort, Germany. I would always take the red-eye (flying at night). Basically, my flight left from Cincinnati at about 8:30 PM and land in Frankfort about 10:00 AM. I would then use the Airport hotels showers and take a shower and change my clothes. (Always put 1 or 2 outfits in a carry on bag in case your checked bag became lost. I usually had a layover between 4 & 6 hours. So I would then go get a coffee and a lite breakfast.
If making a flight connection, check the arrival airport map ahead of time to estimate how far you need to walk to make the connection. A simple delay may shorten the you have.
#1 - Wear shoes through security without laces, buckles or zippers. #2 In your purse or carryon, our your liquids bag, electronics and boarding pass in the same place for quick access. #3 Before you leave home, clean out your purse and/or carryon for those thing that will get you in trouble from your last trip - like liquids, prescriptions or sharp pointy things.
Here tip when are going though security at the airport make sure you wearing slip on shoes because some airports have you removed your shoes and slip on shoes or a lease non-lace up will make it easy for you to slip them on and off.
Ohhh, Love this topic! I was exchange student in America last spring this year and that's my first and my long flight I've experience in my life. I'm from Philippines and I can recommend that you should drink a lot of water and prepare sandwich, so you can eat it in the plane. because most of the times, the foods in the Plane taste so bad. Next year, I'm coming back in America and I'm so excited.
Drink a lot water so you can alot okay lol. You're not allowed to bring food nor drinks entering check point. Only if you purchase in within terminal which is after the check point.
For the duty free one, you can always just pay attention to the clock, board and announcement systems. For me, I happen to be blind (I can only see light, acolour and large objects), so I'm always listening out for things, so I'm usually the first one to know if it's time! When you're on a long hall flight, particularly 10+ hours, you need to relax, get iood and buy some things for the flight or even your trip. This is also true for if you're seeing family and want to get them a last minute gift. Oki that's enough of my rambling
Make sure to check your Pasport's Expiry Date. The minimum gap between the day of travelling and the expiry date of your Passport is 3 months To have a valid Visa if one is travelling abroad.
I traveled for the first time on my own, did the online check in, and the line for those who did the check in online was way shorter than those who didn’t. Still took long because I had to wait behind a family of 5 who had overweight luggage. So do the online check in and weigh your bags the day before and before going to the airport!
What about to drink plenty of water and fruit juices 3 days before a long haul flight. This I've heard is good for jet lag, and they give out small quantities of water for passengers.
When flying on a long haul (economy) (& just in case it's not available on board), bring light weight slippers like those given in hotels. This way your feet can relax and wiggle and avoid DVT, & for hygienic purposes esp going & inside the lavatory.
Take anti-gas pill the night before and the day of your flight. Several hours before, take an Advil to help with any pain or swelling plus to prevent blood clots. A small empty water bottle you can fill after you pass security with some Airborne or Emer-gen C or Gatorade powder will help leg cramps. Tums to help on the plane if you feel nauseous after eating. Protein powder (plain or vanilla) you can mix with anything if your flight is delayed, or you don’t want to eat something new.
Been working for an airline 22 years and I can assure you they do not delay flights because passengers are wandering around. If you're not in the boarding area ready to board at least 15 mins before departure for domestic US flights (30 mins for international) you can be sure you will be denied boarding. Your flight most certainly WILL leave without you....you can bet on it.
I’ve never been stressed y s plane ride even my first one my parents said I was good with and that was a twelve hour flight so first time flyers calm down it’s not that bad
I’m going to try precheck again in sept to get away with carry on eliminating check bag it’s just me and avoid check bag fee and plus won’t have to wait for luggage. If you do secret location with just carry on you may get cheaper flight
We were leaving Florida and my friend had a sunburn, so she bought a 12 oz bottle of Aloe Vera. We were going through the check point and they told her she either had to leave the line and check her bag, or she had to throw her new bottle away. She threw it away but wasn't very happy about it!
I would like to know that too! Keynote on the max can achieve some similar effects. On Windows the latest version of PowerPoint has some decent animation tools.
Once when i was in airport at security check in there was huge long line at the right where everybody was waiting, i saw at the left which counter had no people but working. I went to that side😁 After that all the people behind me came there😶
I have a personal backpack that has a change of clothes, meds, toiletries, laptop and chargers. In the event of an issue with baggage you'll be prepared. Don't trust digital boarding passes on international trips. Your mobile network might not work or there may be a software glitch. Have it printed out along with your itinerary.
If you want to take more hand luggage than you are allowed....travel with a coat in a bag...even if you do not need a coat to the place you are traveling to....if it is a coat with plenty of pockets that is even better. Put as much stuff as you can in the pockets....If you are told you have too much hand luggage...politely show them your bag with the coat and tell them you do not wish to put your coat on....if necessary, say you have the option to put the coat on and ask if you will be forced to do that. Most of the time you will not be forced to put the coat on so you can get away with hiding something inside the coat....for example, a heavy laptop that causes you to exceed the weight limits for hand luggage.
Yeah, you say weigh your luggage before travel. I do that every time, and the last time i went traveling, my bags were over-weighed. not just mine, but i saw nearly everyone else in the airport open their bags and take stuff out
carry a small zip lock see-through bag, but not for documents, instead put all your pocket change, keys there, so when you go through security it's easy to toss in an x-ray tote and put it back in your pocket. purchase a neck pouch designed to hold your passport, boarding pass, money, id cards, and pens, won't have to worry about it falling and getting lost. for your check-in luggage put easy grab item into your packed pants or jacket pockets, inside a very large ziplock bag, with another bag inside it facing the other direction, place your valuables in the inside bag, secure both sides of the outside cage to your suitcase with tape, twine or cable ties. This makes it very hard for luggage handlers and others to open your luggage and reaching in quickly and grabbing small items like jewelry. finally, after you pass security if available get your back wrapped with cellophane, a service offered in many airports near the security checkpoint costs roughly $5 per bag. oh, 1 more thing, planning to bring lotion or water or fragrance above 3.5oz, don't instead buy it in shops once you pass security to the boarding area, then its ok to have more than 3.5 oz. just make sure you don't exceed the carry-on weight limit, some times they check again before boarding. also, the weight limit is because the overhead storage compartments are only capable of holding a set amount of weight. and yet one more thing, if your a larger person traveling by yourself, try and select a row of seats with only two seats, usually the last seats in the aft section of the plane by the bathrooms and galleys, if the flight attended sees the person next to you is unhappy sitting next to a large person, if another seat is available they will offer it to them, leaving you alone with two seats. in most cases, if your obese your food tray won't open all the way, but now that the person next to you has moved you can put the tray table of that seat down and enjoy your flight all the more.

1) I put my 2 passports in the travel bag...and $1,000 cash...then forgot to take it from airline counter.
Carry your documents and cash in a neck pouch under your shirt.
Wear a money belt either around your waist under your pants or around your neck & tuck in under shirt.
St_Clinton passport has home address on it.
p Canadian passports do not.
@@Hello00856 nope
That's the problem, airport items are very expensive, compared to normal items from a local store
Connecting flights: Always bring an empty bottle with you and fill it up in the first flight with water, if your transit terminal does not offer free water refills. Water can cost 5-10 USD on some airport! Consume before you pass the transfer security check. (You will need to pass 1.5 hours before your next flight departure)
Check-in: Check in online.
Always carry socks. It's more comfortable to remove the shoes and sleep with a clean pair of woolen socks on. It also helps in blood circulation.
Yeah I'm traveling to Saudi Arabia in 5 days so wish me luck!
If u want to
Good to know about the turbulence will keep that in mind!
You're welcome!
Please tell us how you know 😹😹 I’ve experienced the exact same thing
I have seen I am that doc thank you for passing the knowledge..I am waiting for my next patient at the moment
ibraa999 him r/what a weird thing to lie about
Loved the animations and definitely the narrator's voice! So soothing! ❤
Never wear a new pair of shoes. As your feet tend to swell after long hours of sitting your new shoes are going to pinch you as they are still not broken in.
"Dont follow the crowd to get a quicker security check in"......ends up on wrong flight....next time, follow the crowd!
Listen to BRIGHT SIDE!
That’s not how that works... after Security, you’ll see the signs that’ll indicate which gate you have to go to
@@mariolopez9120 I think you heard what I said.
😂😂😂
Most of the times, turbulance is caused by other planes as well. They create a small vortex at the wing tip. It will grow bigger and bigger. Thats why winglets are made. Plus, its usually caused by the difference between the air below and above the wing
I like the little lightbulb. Cutest. :)
Thank you after watching your video I always queue at the last lane and I always go out quickly.....
Also great for business when you're not taking brochures back etc.
for transoceanic flights, like LAX to SYD, alternate 4 hours of sleep with 4 hours of wake time.
Travelling soon, i listed all the essentials, but makes me anxious the new normal which is way more complicated and expensive travel.
Another airport tips thanks so much. Love you BRIGHT SIDE
Martina Webster some airport if you’re wearing open toes sandals, they don’t need to be put in the bin.,
If you're in an aisle seat, locate the little catch to lift the aisle side arm rest, it makes it so much easier to get up from the seat.
This man is never going to need the help of google he is so smart he knows everything I wish he did my exams
Chew mint gum on the plane, it will help unblock your ears through the chewing and the mint flavour will help settle your stomach during turbulences.
I love that when flying within Canada you basically high5 security and keep on going.
Remember lo leave a note with special instructions to follow back home, with a love one or family member (just in case )
This is absolutely right
Try to avoid booking an airplane’s landing gear as your seat of choice. The stewards often forget you.
on southwest airlines you must check in online better boarding position and seat earlier you check in aka 24 hours
Make sure to check your Pasport's Expiry Date. The minimum gap between the day of travelling and the expiry date of your Passport is 3 months
To have a valid Visa if one is travelling abroad.
Breakdown the grammar please

Do you like travelling by plane?
@@BRIGHTSIDEOFFICIAL Yes
BRIGHT SIDE Yes if the plane is nice.
Yes
Yes.
1:55 "you get to pick the seat you want" some airlines allow you to do that while booking the flight such as alaska
Considering how to get to the airport in good time before flight is always my way of planning the travel.
Take boiled sweets on a flight to stop you getting earache and a big scarf to use as a pillow or blanket
I’ve never been stressed y s plane ride even my first one my parents said I was good with and that was a twelve hour flight so first time flyers calm down it’s not that bad
Take out an item or two from the checked bag and put it in your carry-on 😉
I’m going to try precheck again in sept to get away with carry on eliminating check bag it’s just me and avoid check bag fee and plus won’t have to wait for luggage.
That’s very unfair.
I love the bubbles light bulb above 🤩😍
Hello Brightside, I am big fan of your content.. can you share the tool name, which you use to make these wonderful videos..
I would like to know that too! Keynote on the max can achieve some similar effects. On Windows the latest version of PowerPoint has some decent animation tools.
Trust me, you'd be glad you or your parents did online check in. Especially during Christmas time
Please can you show me how online check in is done ? I have a fight on Wednesday hopefully
Very cool video. Thanks for posting and have a nice day too.
6:39 true I though of trying new dishes they serve and I ate one of them then... I vomited in the air sickness bag in the flight and after the flight
Dont forget to stuff the cotton wool in yr ears, use them when take off n landing, it really helps in ear popping n ear aches..
Six security lines? What airport is this at? I always stand in a queue, and security tells me which of the two lines I get....
Lucky you. If you travel more you will see the nightmare it is.
Once when i was in airport at security check in there was huge long line at the right where everybody was waiting, i saw at the left which counter had no people but working. I went to that side😁 After that all the people behind me came there😶
Be there in the airport as much as earlier.... There is a possible that you can get early flight if seats available... You can reach home earlier....
When online check-in you can make your meal selection like
Muslim meal, veggie meal kosher etc in ahead
I have a personal backpack that has a change of clothes, meds, toiletries, laptop and chargers. In the event of an issue with baggage you'll be prepared.
Don't trust digital boarding passes on international trips. Your mobile network might not work or there may be a software glitch. Have it printed out along with your itinerary.
I always take my jacket into plane eventhough it is summer. Because most planes are very cold😄
I like the cold lol
You can get a blanket from the stewardess
Thank Q. It is very useful.
If you see this you are awesome and smart
Thanx!
Your welcome
i always make sure to put my maintenance medicines especially my asthma inhaler on my hand carry bags. 🥰
Thank you for your vids always helpful
I bring biodegradable cleansing cloths and unscented lotion; it's soothing for me to "towel off and lotion" plus planes are so dry.
Yeah, you say weigh your luggage before travel. I do that every time, and the last time i went traveling, my bags were over-weighed. not just mine, but i saw nearly everyone else in the airport open their bags and take stuff out
The scales were probably wrong - on purpose.
Honestly I'm just curious who is behind the screen and I miss traveling so much this just makes me feel closer to it
Love traveling
carry a small zip lock see-through bag, but not for documents, instead put all your pocket change, keys there, so when you go through security it's easy to toss in an x-ray tote and put it back in your pocket. purchase a neck pouch designed to hold your passport, boarding pass, money, id cards, and pens, won't have to worry about it falling and getting lost. for your check-in luggage put easy grab item into your packed pants or jacket pockets, inside a very large ziplock bag, with another bag inside it facing the other direction, place your valuables in the inside bag, secure both sides of the outside cage to your suitcase with tape, twine or cable ties.
