Seemed like they were struggling w one liners thru the movie.. thought this was gonna be the last one w Roger depressed yet looking to retire. He was planning it in 2 w the hobby room where the nail gun was..
FUN FACT: That building was intended for demolition, that bomb actually exploded, but they weren’t expecting the building to fall right then and there. After the noise stopped, Richard Donner’s voice boomed over a PA saying “we haven’t cut, keep rolling.” Their looks of shock are genuine.
I'm an explosives researcher. I find what you are saying unbelievable. Hollywood bomb simulations are usually confined low explosives in deep and wide mortar shots with gasoline in front of them. They never use real high explosives except in very special and usually small applications as it is very dangerous out to hundreds of yards and jarring/loud. The low explosive shots do not have the MPas of force needed to break through concrete and steel.. only glass. Also, no demolition expert would leave exposed blasting caps for Hollywood explosions to ignite. Perhaps some version of your described incident happened but it's probably been grossly exaggerated.
Demolitions are very specific places of charges unless you use hundreds of pounds of high explosive on a scene with actors close by which would not be allowed. Maybe that story is a partial turth?
RIGGS: Rog? Murtaugh: Yeah? (BEEP BEEP) RIGGS: Grab the cat! Murtaugh: Grab the cat? - I was literally laughing my ass off so friggin' hard especially when Riggs cut the red wire (causing the countdown on the bomb to go down rapidly). I love this movie, yo.
I remember as a kid seeing on the local news a clip of them demolishing this building while filming this movie. The building was like 30-40 minutes away from my house.
@@rme1383 I also remember hearing about it on the news and my dad driving us in the car down the interstate where you could see the building a week or so before they demolished it. Orlando was cool when I was a kid it also had the best video arcade around in the 90's which was the third floor of The Exchange. My dad would give me and my brother 10 bucks in quarters each and that would last us about an hour or two. He used to take us there a few times per year. That was our go to place between 1992-1995.
@@keirboyko It's one of the few memories of youth I still have. If you like arcades The Exchange was one of the best ever. Another really amazing arcade was one Disney World use to have. I remember my grandparents took us camping there in 1993 or 1994. We had to take a boat ride to this building on a small island that had an arcade that was slightly bigger and better than the one at The Exchange.
Common trope in these scenarios back in the day. "We gotta cut one of these wires to defuse the bomb!" Quite literally they should have removed all of the blasting caps from all of the blocks of C4!
Ever notice in these movies, it always takes the Bomb Squad forever to get to the scene? How busy are these guys? Are there lots of bombs to dismantle in these Cities? Lol
When i worked for Loomis we had a guard who looked just like the lady driving that armored car. Had a pretty similar attitude. I wouldn't steal a breath mint from her.
Even if he didn't go in the building, it still would have blown up. The bomb squad takes a few minutes to get equipment on, and they would have gotten killed walking in.
Yes! It was actually an old hotel that was about to be destroyed for real so the production didn't had to build a model building to destroy it for cinematic reasons, they had only one try to put the cameras on the right angles and they nailed it
Best duo in movie history.
There hasnt been another team like this.❤
What abt rush hour duo or bad boys duo
Yeah, Mel Gibson and his feathered hair.
"Riggs....homicide"
"Nobodys dead"
"Hey, night still young"
I love how even though Roger is mad as hell, Riggs is still screwing with him by changing the wire he cut.
"GRAB THE CAT"
This scene is so funny, tense and superbly energetic at the same time.
I was on the edge of my seat!
wont ever be another lethal weapon like this again miss the 90s
Seemed like they were struggling w one liners thru the movie.. thought this was gonna be the last one w Roger depressed yet looking to retire. He was planning it in 2 w the hobby room where the nail gun was..
Jaywalking ., lol. They brought down mercenary led drug operations dating back to Vietnam and diplomatic immunity bad guys 😂😂
Me too.
Number 2 is the best imo. This one doesn't really go anywhere, these pair are still good in it
so sad, they don't make movies like this anymore.
Sure they do.
"Riggs homicide" other cop"Nobody is dead yet" Riggs response "Hey the nights young"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

No it’s just a lie
@MrSteveo114 it is no lie I google it's true
Danny Glover was really great when doing comedy parts.... i wish he did more of these back then...
Lethal weapon movies are on my top 5 favorite movies of all time. 😊
So, what's the fifth movie?
Mine too awesome movies thanks
2:16 "Oh my you're more plastic than cher" 🤣
I would have said the kardashians but this is the early nineties 😆
Would Madonna be the right fit? 90’s star that turned to plastic lol.
@@kate2create738 That's also a good one 😜
@@kate2create738 she was still fairly natural back then. It started to become noticeable in the 2000s.
I love how they cover their ears when Riggs opens the car door…😂😂
Cat: told you to cut the blue wire bro, but thanks for saving my ass
Back when movies were actually good
Totally agree
Definitely agree 💯
They don't make them like this anymore...Mel and Danny were great in these films
These movies were so damn good. Cheesy 80’s cop movies but amazing
Oh man they don’t movies like this anymore
Unfortunately they just remake them
That part of the movie and those movies are absolutely amazing

""Cat-tastrophe.""😂👍

His expression as he says that!!!!
The way that building sank on one spot reminds me of.. never mind
Reminds me of that tragedy

The uniformed cop when Riggs slams his shoulder back in place 😂😂

Downtown Orlando, Florida. That's where this demolition took place.
Orlando Florida my home town. Wow I did not know thanks for let know . and I thought this film in l.a California
You're wrong this was in L.A not Orlando.
Love these movies, they had such a great chemistry❤
Leo Getts, best supporting actor
The more I revisit this franchise, the more I wonder why Riggs isn’t fired? 😅
This scene was so hilarious
real story building was to be demolished and the studio said they will do it
2:16 "More plastic than Cher"... That was brutal ... 🤣🤣🤣

The cop at 0:25 is teh same actor who played the jumper in the first movie

Sure don't make 'em like they used to.
In Orlando Florida!
Riggs clip the wrong wire on bomb in the car & both ended up the police uniforms 😆 😅
Plugging up your ears in case the bomb goes off...hmm?🤔
Será mucho pedir que vuelvan estas historias o por lo menos parecidas???
They saved the cat at least lol
Remember Burbank the cat n Riggs’ dog Sam👍👍
Someone is so fired after this .
It's hilarious that they didn't get fired but were stripped of their rank all the way down to beat cop! 😂
I think they confronted that guy for jaywalking just as a joke
This movie gets a bad rap. I loved it.
This is why i cant be policeman 😂😂😂
I THOUGHT YOU SAID BLUE! Did I? lmao
He bet vital parts of his anatomy. Didn't see any of his parts get hacked off. Lol
"Theres no bomb in there."

Riggs playing with people is totally me as I got older I realized.
Riggs one liner.
More plastic than Cher.
Brilliant
guess that bomb didnt wanna give em another chance like others do as some the timer just counts down slowly still when u cut the wrong wire
