This is simply one of my favorite Snob reviews. The jokes don't rely on too much celebrity humor or in-jokes so almost every joke is understandable, and the jokes are also just good. I mean, it is an easy movie to make fun of, I imagine.
I mean he does make A LOT of VERY obscure references that rely on the viewer to have seen movies and know actors that are........not exactly common knowledge........but yeah otherwise I agree

I love how it had a larger budget ($6,000,000 in ‘95) than Upgrade (2018 and had a $5,000,000 budget) but still lost money. It had an even larger budget if you include inflation which makes it $9,886,102.36. It lost $1,647,683.73 in 2018 money.
I watched this film after watching your review, since it appeared on Encore about a day after watching this. The review actually made the film look way more interesting. however, the version I watched was very different from this version, where the subplot about Chuck's dad's death and the racist rants being edited out. i'm certain this was just a regular action movie script but they rewrote it to be a kids films, inserting whacky dog scenes and a kid into a violent action movie because they saw it was popular

This movie has some really weird tonal shifts, like the cops getting shot right in the face being followed by dog physics hi-jinks.
