If Rocky was lightning in a bottle... Dreamer is the exact opposite of that: a pickle in a blender. Dumb, but ultimately an incredibly boring thing to witness.
I notice when ever a melodrama wins, it's either batshit insane (Independence Day, Until September) or it's completely dull and pointless ( Windy City, Dreamer) there's never an in between, and I prefer to keep it that way.
I love that someone’s comment, in the poll on Patreon; was: “Oh god, it’s winning.” Just sums up the majority of how people probably felt when Dreamer actually won the poll; nothing but dread and depression.
I never thought that the Patreon crowd would actually pick it. I legit thought that "Dreamer" showing up as one of the choices was just going to become a long-running Snob meme.
@@yogisie I was being sarcastic. I vote for these kind of movies, sometimes, mostly because of how fun the Cinema Snob reviews of them are. And yes, a lot of it comes from how Brad gets handling them.
I kept looking back at the time thinking I had been watching this video far longer than I thought I had. I can only imagine how boring it would be to watch the full runtime.
'Dream' is really just a sequel to 'Being There' where the President's failures stemming from following Chance's advice have left him destitute and desperately clinging to the success of a young bowler.
I consider kingpin to be a real strike when it comes to bowling features, this on the other hand is a 7-10 split. It does remind me a bit about cheers aswell with that intro. I have already figured out that Juan and Too are the features answer to Cliff and Norm.
When I saw the shot of him on the bus in at night with rock music in the background, for some reason my mind jumped to Wayne's World and thought "What? Is this movie set in Illinois, too?" and sure enough...
I liked the Dennis and Dee analogy, it's exactly something the gang would make. Excluding the fact that Frank would make it even more raunchy and sex fueled, to the point it would be porn.
I guess “Dreamer” is a 20th Century Studios film now owned by Disney. And I hope “Dreamer” might end up on Disney+ in the future, along with many other 20th Century Studios classics.
The fact that I am a lifelong bowler yet had never known of this movie's existence... pretty much means it had to even bore me to watch the scenes. That said, I am glad it was voted on just to have Brad suffer through watching it.
How did you get a hold of this? My dad is in the movie and I've always wanted to see it, but doesn't seem to have been released on DVD, Blu-ray or streaming.
10 minutes in and I'm "what is the point of this movie? Why? Why?" Meanwhile the poster of Windy City is behind you....Glaring....Mocking you...It's mocking you...
Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no! I said dreamer, you're nothing but a dreamer Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no! I said "far out, what a day, a year, a life it is!" You know, well you know, you had it comin' to you Now, there's not a lot I can do Dreamer, you stupid little dreamer So now you put your head in your hands, oh no
You know, I have come to really appreciate when the main character does not win at the end and learns something from it. It twists the story a bit and I always enjoy seeing that from time to time. This movie was just boring and unwanted so to expect a good ending, let alone a good anything, from this movie is too much to ask for.
The reason why people vote for bad movies for Snob to review is the same reason why people like watching ElectroBOOM get electrocuted or jokes sometimes. It's because it's funny! And every bad movie review is the best one!
Alien, Life of Brian, Apocalypse Now and The Warriors want their movie year (1979) back. However; Beneath the Valley of the Ultra Vixens, The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again, Beyond the Poseidon Adventure and Star Trek: The Motion Picture all abstain.
Because, every time Brad does a Patreon poll, he puts a rom-com with three horror movies, just as a "dud". However, he knows people will vote for that one just for shits and giggles. They'd rather see the Cinema Snob review something different from the norm.
This movie has worse sound than Multiple Maniacs, and that was John Waters' first sound film! I recognize that guy with the glasses and moustache from a series of commercials for Cheer Detergent.

Review The Asylum Trolland.
Sad Martin needs to be a meme.
Requiem for a Dreamer
That cross- promotion is god-tier, brad.
Stoned Gremlin Productions Nice that you are showing Korey support!
I'm from Alton. We got the movie we deserved.
I want to sincerely apologize to Windy City. I'm sorry Windy City. I did not know you were just the tip of the iceberg.
Saul did not die in vain.
This movie feels like the few VHS tapes your grandparents had that you throw on because it’s either that or go outside
I'd rather go outside!
If Rocky was lightning in a bottle... Dreamer is the exact opposite of that: a pickle in a blender. Dumb, but ultimately an incredibly boring thing to witness.
Proving that Stallone did it right while everyone else did it wrong.
Pickle in a Blender would make a good name for an early-10s indie pop band

2:40... His name is Dreamer because his parents were Drexel "The Dream" Hemsley fans.
Yes, this movie is in "The Identical Universe"
I buy it.
Accepted.
What other movies are in the Dreamverse?
The ICU
Dreamer: whoever wins, we lose.
I never thought that the Patreon crowd would actually pick it. I legit thought that "Dreamer" showing up as one of the choices was just going to become a long-running Snob meme.
@@AnInsideJoke Brad probably thought that, too 🤣
Isn't that the tagline to Alien vs Predator?
I like more “whoever wins, we’ll forget” lol
If you ain't first, you're last
I think people vote for these types of movies, just to see Brad get upset that he has to review these types of movies.
I'm sorry is that NOT how the poll is suppose to work?
SuperSwordman1 exactly
@@yogisie I was being sarcastic. I vote for these kind of movies, sometimes, mostly because of how fun the Cinema Snob reviews of them are. And yes, a lot of it comes from how Brad gets handling them.
More of these please... SERIOUSLY!
Yes I get pleasure from the Snobs suffering 🤗
@@greenkoopa I have to admit, the movie was really lame. Brad did so well making it more interesting. But I'll still go for this shiz. Let's go Brad!
The bowling episode of Malcolm in the Middle had better character development in twenty minutes
I remember that episode. It's the one that goes back and forth with Lois and Hal taking them
That’s in my Top 5 of the series!
The episode of 'That Girl' where Ann get's her toe stuck in a bowling ball was funnier than this.
I can't believe this is a year old already. This is by far my favourite review of 2020!
Not only am I happy that we get to see this today but I laughed so hard when I saw that my name appeared four times in the opening.
As a resident of the Alton area, I agree with Brad's disdain for the place
I had bad coffee there.in the late 90s .
I went into this movie with no expectations. And it somehow manages to not even live up to that.
The big lebowski is still the greatest bowling movie ever made
My only argument would be Kingpin
I guess the Flintstones movie isn't a bowling movie anymore.
Oh shit Denver the Last Dinosaur! Collateral nostalgia!!
"Fuck Sol and double fuck Harry." Jeez these late 70s/early 80s melodramas sure have their heart in the right place
Not to mention "Fuck Fake Sol" too.
Maaaaaan, The Brood is RIFE with material...
"Breaking Away" a good sports movie about a dreamer from the Midwest also came out in 1979.
you know how you could make this movie better?
make the main character a drunk with a hook hand and have his best friend be a giant 7'2 amish guy
kingpin
No Dianne Wiest explosion? 0/10 stars.
This movie desperately needed John Goodman pulling out a handgun on the lanes. "Dreamer, my friend... you're entering a world of pain."
I kept looking back at the time thinking I had been watching this video far longer than I thought I had. I can only imagine how boring it would be to watch the full runtime.
"That's going up his ass!"
Oooh, another episode of Will It Fit!
'Dream' is really just a sequel to 'Being There' where the President's failures stemming from following Chance's advice have left him destitute and desperately clinging to the success of a young bowler.
I've been away for a while but so glad I came back for this. It looked so painful.

2/10 would not bang
Dreamer is Sam, Harry is Coach, main girl (forgot her name) is Diane, waitress is Carla, creepy rapist is Frasier. It's Cheers in a bowling alley!
I kept expecting the theme song from the Greatest American Hero to start playing during this heartfelt cinematic masterpiece. 👍👍
It only take two years later to start playing the theme - March 18, 1981.
When I saw the shot of him on the bus in at night with rock music in the background, for some reason my mind jumped to Wayne's World and thought "What? Is this movie set in Illinois, too?" and sure enough...
I love the movies that just piss off Snob so much!
I thought the 70s only had porn, murder, and Mitchell.
No need to get upset, Snob. We got here for the Lebowski reference, we got it, we can leave happy.
"A film, so thrilling, it makes Uncut Gems look like Monster a Go-Go!"
-Leonard Maltin....probably.
"Music by Bill Conti"?
*puts on shades* OKAY, EIGHTIES. GIMME WHAT YOU GOT.
Come at me bro!
Soup for One has Mrs. Kotter! I'm so looking forward to that!
Could use more ashtrays
Needs more milkshakes
Denver, The Crazed Vietnam Hitch Hiking Dinosaur! He's my friend, and A whole lot more!
I'd watch that, rather than him being the last dinosaur
Gritty cartoon reboots be like.
@@MinscFromBaldursGate92 Funny enough, there actually was a 'Denver' reboot, but in CGI.

3:14 Denver the Last Dinosaur? Holy shit that’s a name I haven’t heard of in a long time....
Dreamer: "It's kind of like Rocky, but with Bowling"
Good. I'm glad this one won. I love watching Brad suffer through these melodramas. Keep it up people!
Was there a point to this movie? I guy just bowls and gets into a fight with his girlfriend. What was accomplished?
Winged Hussar _BOWLING!_
Nothing. Nothing was accomplished.
And his old mentor dies and he's just like "...well that sucks, i guess."
Well.................

Kind of like Screwballs or he would be playing a stereotype.
The melodramas just keep on givin'.
A long time fan from Finland. Keep em reviews comin'.
And yes, I did vote for Dreamers. Oh, joy!
Even in 1979, Dreamer looked about 10-15 years too old to be a boy with a dream... :P
I'm 4:50 in.... waiting for the inevitable "Score Tonight" reference.
When I saw the poll last week, I thought it has to be Dreamer
perfect thing to weather a snow storm with. Thanks Brad.

Ah fuck it, Snob. Let's go bowling.
Then Spider went back in time to 1885 and got Doc Brown blitzed on one of his "special cocktails".
That was after he gave up on tracking down The Incredible Hulk
The fact that I am a lifelong bowler yet had never known of this movie's existence... pretty much means it had to even bore me to watch the scenes. That said, I am glad it was voted on just to have Brad suffer through watching it.
You and Double Toasted supporting each other is a dream come true.
Some of these movies chosen by patreon seem like they need a remake by Tyler Perry staring Machad Brooks
Jack Warden wouldn't have died from that heart attack if he had bowled while wearing a classic black tee from DTMerch.com
Such an eventfull movie. I hardly could .... zzzZ
How did you get a hold of this? My dad is in the movie and I've always wanted to see it, but doesn't seem to have been released on DVD, Blu-ray or streaming.
Just what I always wanted to see - a feel good movie about bowling
Snob episode the moment I open up shop? Dreams really do come true.
