    Stan,
Thought you did a good job for your first time. Your correct, Stone Coat is the only epoxy to use. Started watching your channel years ago looking for a contractor with advise . I didnt get paid on a job and was looking for help. It was nice to find someone on the contractors side instead of shows for the whiney homeowners. Hope to meet you someday. I am a fellow Pole also. They look great! Wish you would wear PPE though, especially when you sanded the cheaper epoxy off, I learned the hard way. Still suffer from not wearing it. Hives, rashes, eyes swell shut like an allergic reaction.

Looks great Stan! Oil looks better but is a hell of a lot of work - the sanding and repetition of coats as well as the ongoing maintenance. I've seen some stocks and tables with over 100 hours of just the finishing put into them - it shows but isn't worth it for most people. Epoxy is a great solution to get a good finish without the significant investment of time.

Does this happen because it was to thin or because they brushed it after it began to set so it could not self level.

The only thing that was wrong with it, was the mouse would not work on it. The reflection was too much for the mouse, so I had to take 3M scuff pad's green kind, and scuff it up a little, so the mouse would work! Lol!

Interesting, Do you not use a ( better than plain cheap ) Gaming style mouse pad ? Most of them have textile weaved surface durable woven fabric, water oil and dust resistant built in ( their words not mine). Laser/Optical sensors do not act too friendly to non textured/high reflective (not to be specific) surfaces to begin with, i personally would Never use a mouse on bare wood of any modified surface. Medium sized good ones avg 20-25 or less online like Newegg or Amazon sites and are worth the extra vs a cheap 5 from a few retail stores or dollar stores at the absolute worst.

To many pep dont want to mess with epoxy it great just have to be smart with it.

The wood is beautiful! Hope it turns out! If you don't mind texture, I would recommend SC extra topcoat. Sure, you can sand and polish, but I imagine you are going to be hard on the counter tops, that will keep it from scratching. IF you have soft spots, make sure you use a drill with a mixer on it. In large batches like that I would mix longer scraping the sides once in the middle of the mixing. This becomes increasingly important when you forget to trowel!! (this is where you can mix on the sub-straight as well) I hope you don't get soft spots, that kitchen is kick ass!

Don't let your pooch epoxy his balls to the floor, that wouldn't be good... I can't figure out why mine didn't level out. I did the same as you, and it kept all the brush strokes and ridges??? wtf.... That's actually an outer frame of a different wood, the inner table, it leveled out, cured perfect, like glass.... but the outer frame it is like a ceiling??
