Great video Jordan! My dad was born and raised in Plains Ga and was neighbors with the Carters . My dad’s grandma used to baby sit jimmy and the kids sometime . You did a great job on the town and history . My dad is 83 and I showed him the video , and he felt honored you did a video of his home town .
This was great Jordan! Being born and raised in GA l love Jimmy Carter! He and Rosalyn truly gave back to their country. When he ran for president was the first election l voted in,guess you know who l voted for! God bless him and the late Rosalyn Carter! I really need a road trip to Plains! The white pot with a lid sitting next to Jimmy's bed was a portable potty to use at night instead of going to the outside. This is so great they made this available to the public! Thanks for this, l really loved it! I hope President Carter makes it to 100! It will be a very sad day in Georgia when he passes! Take care and safe travels ❤️
Nice Video! Jimmy was one who always was kind. Seeing his family farm and how they lived was another reminder of how the world was so different and much more difficult than today. His legacy of love and good works lives on.
We could use another president like Mr. Carter. I love the family store. You sold what you grew. Thank you, Mr. Carter. You are one great person, and we could use more like you. Thank you, Jordan, for filming all this and telling us the Carter's story. Take care.
Thank you Jordan for producing these two broadcasts on President Jimmy Carter. Over here, in Britain, President Carter has always been viewed as an honest, down to earth politician - a man of integrity. These two vlogs, filmed in his home town, very much reinforced this view. Whether in politics or in our home towns - we could do with more people like President Jimmy Carter. A great vlog.
Awesome. Those days were filled with back breaking work. It made me think of my grandparents home and their farm. I loved staying with them in the summer.
My Mom grew up in rural Mississippi and didn't have running water or electricity until she went to college in 1937. My grandparents did get running water and electricity about 1938.
Fun fact I'm a black man, and Jimmy Carter is my cousin, my Great Great Grandmother was white and she was a Carter... Her and my Great Great Grandfather met and fell in love... To hear some of the stories is heartbreaking along with some beautiful stories....
In my opinion THE most underrated president. Jimmy Carter came closer to brokering Middle East peace than any other president. IMO, he should've had a second term.
Always liked him, have a few of his books. Jimmy was a Real person, he did so much for so many. Building Homes for Others well up into his early 90's. Because of You I get to see this place through you, Thank You, Jordan. 😊
My mom liked Jimmy Carter so much. She spoke to him during his campaign and asked questions at a town hall gathering in our home town. It was such a meaningful time for my parents and uncle who was in Vietnam. I do think he was the most decent president. They don't make them like him anymore. I was a kid but remembered Peanut farming was his thing!
His house reminds me of my granny's house in western NC. I'd be willing to bet on hot summer nights, Jimmy & his siblings probably slept on that back porch to catch any cool breezes. They used to call screened in, shaded porches like that "sleeping porches".
So what you are calling the back is actually the front. Old houses faced the tracks or the road. Also they always had a hall straight through the house for the air to blow straight through. 😊
Jordan, not only is the home tour free but also, if you go at the right time of the year, the pecans that fall from the trees around the boyhood home of Jimmy Carter are also free as well. I used to stuff them inside of bags by just picking them off the ground when I visited the house when I was younger. By the way, you should visit the nearby city of Americus if you get the chance and stop by the Windsor hotel. Jimmy Carter cut the ribbon when the hotel reopened, and he was a visitor to the hotel whenever he was in Americus.
Great vlog on Jimmy Carter’s boyhood home. Enjoyed learning about Jack & Rachel Clark. They seemed like really great people who influenced Jimmy in the best ways. 👍
Thank you so much. President Carter presided over the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt, a treaty that still holds! He also funded the eradication of Guinea Worm, a devastating plague of the poor in Africa. He and Mrs. Carter did great work for Habitat for Humanity, helping to provide a basic necessity of people, a safe, clean home. He was a great President and an even greater man.
If anyone is interested go to Sidestep: Adventures into history Robert the host found the cemetary of the Carter family ancestors. The title one of his videos is titled Grave under house leads to Lost plantation Ruins! Carter. Great video Jordan this was fun 😊
Hi dear, I'm your new subscriber from Indonesia.. I'm so happy that finally i found some TH-cam channel that are informative, enlightenment, entertaining, and catchy..its nice to found this,so thanks a lot from Indonesia ❤❤❤
Its amazing that a museum is unattended and free I remember going to museums in the Midwest no one was there displays of Antique rifles and other stuff no body bother it you looked and left also free years later I thought about it and no ways that could happen now people would steal thoses things what a shame it never crossed anybody's mind back then it was for all see not take
Ever hear of working for the company store? Well they were the company store. They got all the $ the sharecroppers made and their help. Basically, free labor.

Excellent series, Jordan. Thanks for honoring President Carter.
What a beautiful place to grow up. Great video. Not many presidents in the future will have had similar childhoods.
I just turned 18 nov 2 1976 I was able to vote for the first time and Jimmy was my very first president I voted for thanks Jordan

That General Store! Loved it along with all the rest of the buildings and the history they carry of Jimmy Carter. Thank you, Jordan!
Lovely home. It is like stepping back in time.

Thank you for this interesting look into the life of Jimmy Carter.
Our 2nd WORST President
Mr Carter is a great man and has given a lot to humanity.
What a beautiful place to grow up, and the house is nice! Thanks Jordan!
I noticed that both houses had chamber pots. Those were used in the night instead of having to go out in the dark to the outhouse.
Thanks so much! Love touring places like this. I need to put it on my bucket list!
This is ao awesome !!! I love this!!! I am a history person. I live near Teddy Roosevelts home.
Fun fact I'm a black man, and Jimmy Carter is my cousin, my Great Great Grandmother was white and she was a Carter... Her and my Great Great Grandfather met and fell in love... To hear some of the stories is heartbreaking along with some beautiful stories....
This video was so cool.
In my opinion THE most underrated president. Jimmy Carter came closer to brokering Middle East peace than any other president. IMO, he should've had a second term.
I agree, he really wanted that Peace too.
A horrible economy and the Iran hostage crisis are among the things that sunk his chances at a second term

We need more Jimmy Carters in the world. I respect him so much.

Good video Jordan
That is known as a Dog Trot home where you have a front door lined up with the back door
This was such a blast Jordan and l really enjoyed it.
Watching this video wants me to go to library and check out a book about Jimmy's growing up. Loved this. Also your FDR video. Thanks Jordan

Great vlog on Jimmy Carter’s boyhood home. Enjoyed learning about Jack & Rachel Clark. They seemed like really great people who influenced Jimmy in the best ways. 👍
Happy 4th Jordan & Jah & Katie~
Jimmy Carter is a great humble man. This is what we need in this world now
I agree.. I feel like we could pull someone out of a hardware store anywhere in America and find a better choice

Awsome video!!!!!
Did you notice the pee pots by the beds??
Nice 😊
I love cottages but with no flowing water, life had to be hard. I need my two showers a day man.

Ever hear of working for the company store?
Well they were the company store.
They got all the $ the sharecroppers made and their help. Basically, free labor.
No, as I said they paid them.
