- Today I am taking a beautiful ride from the Flevopolder, through the provinces of North and South Holland. Beautiful images along the way. And a great conductor who announces in English and also regularly in Spanish! At Amsterdam RAI station, a traveler is standing on the edge of the platform. Rather ignorant when a train arrives at 130 km/h, so that means honking hard. People, NEVER stand on the edge of the platform. Enjoy watching!

Vandaag maak ik een prachtige rit vanuit de Flevopolder, door de provincies Noord- en Zuid-Holland. Prachtige beelden onderweg. En een geweldige conducteur die in het Engels, en regelmatig ook nog in het Spaans omroept! Bij station Amsterdam RAI staat een reiziger op het randje van het perron. Nogal onhandig als er een trein met 130 km/u aankomt, dat is dus flink toeteren. Mensen, ga NOOIT op het randje van het perron staan. Veel kijkplezier!

Rotterdam was home for me for two years over 40 years ago. Renovated CS looks brighter and better in spite of the full roof cover! Enjoyed the ride. Thanks for helping me revive happy memories. 😊

So here are two things I do not understand:
1) Why have they built a second platform at Delft?
2) Why isn‘t it in operation yet? Everything seems to be ready…

I think they're actually pretty close with the second platforms! At the end of July they'll open platform 3 and in August the last platform :)
1. They want to increase the capacity between The Hague and Rotterdam from 2 to 4 tracks, which means more than just expanding the station. Also the station moved underground.
2. The second tunnel was also temporarily used for tests by TU Delft for the Hyperloop. Which also took time, and that allowed for the expansion of the track count outside the station
@@ericvenneker Hyperloop? For them it was probably about taking grants money, but it's kind of bad for TU Delft's reputation to contribute to that scam.
@@Daneelro I also think it is not a viable option. That said, without the proper research nothing new will be invented. So who knows what will be next 🤔
@@ericvenneker There are tech ideas which we cannot know if they work without research, but also ones for which we very well can say in advance that they cannot work. The latter include scams, and Hyperloop was one of them. And it's one thing that the greater public (and tech-illiterate politicians who handed out grant money) could not figure out the problems with this one (and with _this_ one, there are an amazing amount of really fundamental ones), but the people at TU Delft should have.

Mooie video weer. Schitterend stuk door Flevoland. Vooral nu het zo groen is. Wel apart om te zien op Amsterdam Zuid dat sommige mensen zo veel verder naar voren staan, terwijl er toch echt op reisinformatie bord staat dat het een enkele trein is 😅

Hahaha ja. Sommige hc's kunnen er wat van. Ik had er laatst eentje (op dezelfde route trouwens) die begon bij Zuid al om te roepen voor Schiphol in 6 talen. Nederlands, Engels, Duits, Frans, Zweeds, en Japans. De laatste 3 met Google Translate ;)

Potdorie. Ik hoor de ding van deuren sluiten en verwacht 7 a 8 seconden later de dong van deuren dicht en die kwam niet. my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. :P Die tweede is zeker alleen oudere series zoals de koplopert?
Zat laatst een oudere upload van U te kijken, moet zeggen dat het over de jaren toch wel goed verbeterd/geevolueerd is. Meer en betere info, beter beeld uiteraard. Helaas geen drivers eye maar die snap ik wel. (regeltjes, sigh). Alhoewel ik meer van de regionale ritten ben (vaak toch wat mooiere omgeving, "T Gooi lijntje bevoorbeeld.) maar dit was toch ook wel leuk om te zien.
Dankjewel voor je compliment! De dong gaat in een virm altijd wel goed, ontbreekt ie in deze film bij elke stop?

Ah, Vincent. Great conductor: Yes, I heard the announcements in English and Spanish. No, I didn't catch the "happy mistake" at Schiphol(?) - what was it? Stupid passenger: Yes, I heard the horn (hard), but didn't notice the passenger particularly close to the edge of the platform. Parallel running: I only remember example of parallel running - kinda, on the approach and into Schiphol.
At Amsterdam Zuid the conductor closes the doors 2 minutes before departure time.

Someone standing too close to the edge of the platform. The visibility was probably better in person because our eyes have a higher dynamic range compared to camera's
