    For a very long time I have advocated owning a Corvette for the Car to drive and Super Duty Diesel for the Truck to drive as being the ultimate all around driving experiences for the safety, convenience and useability features they represent. It is just a shame the way the automobile manufacturing industry has evolved into restricting the production output so as to drive the cost to the consumer to a level that should actually shame the manufacturers. The whole point to the American car manufacturing process was mass production the keep the cost of production to the very minimum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just another prime example of Corporate "GREED" across the board & America's Ideals in general!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I have a 3.5 ecoboost rated at 11300 lbs towing…I tow a 9000 lbs toy hauler…is scary!! So I just bought a 7.3 F250 rated at 15300. I think towing ratings should be cut in half!!! My F150 can no way tow 11300!!! And my 7.3 is getting 11 mpg empty
    My F150 get 19 mpg empty and 8 mpg pulling the toy hauler… just my experience.

    • @Van-tastic
      @Van-tastic ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Here’s my guess: the 6.8 is an evolution of the 7.3, and the long term goal is to develop the engine that will eventually be part of the future hybrid drivetrain. So, it wouldn’t make sense to continue and spend time and resources on the 7.3. That’s also why I think the 6.8 is so damn close to the 7.3. Ford will see most fleet vehicles spec’d with the 6.8 which will mean tons of development data.

    Thanks for doing this while feeling pretty lousy Andrey!! You are truly dedicated. Well done!
    I have to admit I may like the Chevy/GMC HD trucks with the 6.6 and 10 speed automatic coming up in 2024. I am a Ford guy, but they don’t cut it in the looks and I’m never going to put even a 3/4 ton to the limit, let alone a 1 ton. I will be hauling a 2,000 lb camper if I replace an 1100 lb camper. The enclosed trailer I tow won’t exceed 5500 lbs or it will be a 20 foot fishing Pontoon boat with a 90 hp Merc on the back. Just liking the GMs in appearances currently, both inside and out. I will have until 2024 to decide, or really next summer to compare and decide. Pricing will be a factor and currently GM wins by a fair amount for my tastes and needs. I say this with a painful look on my face as my daily driver is a 2022 F150 Tremor!! Haha.
    Looking forward to what 2024 brings for all 3 HD trucks out there! That Hurricane 6 cylinder Ram has is impressive and showing much higher HP and torque!! 510 hp and with the turbocharger, the torque band is as wide as Texas!!

If you actually need all that have at it, but it wasn't all that long ago that Ford built the Excursion (short lived excess). For those who run over the road, still get Tremor package. Why? Road hazards…all the extra under side plates (more and stronger than FX/4), forged wheel (pot holes), better/smoother rough highway road ride, heavier duty components. I know all this first hand. Oh, if you get the 6.7, add the ambulance package for dual alternator, and block heater. Plus, get the “camper” package for bed camper. Adds extra sway bars for better normal handling in dry and wet weather. If looking at 250, think 350 single axle. Again, over the many miles into six figures, the 350 underpinnings are so much stronger. 350 uplift price is not much more than 350.

    • @alexmills1329

      They limit torque in the first gears because the axle wouldn’t be able to take it, and they’ve done it for years now.

    • @ArmyProperty
      @ArmyProperty ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They need to limit torque in the bottom gears because the transmission multiplies torque. So if the engine put too much torque into the trans in low gears, it would kill the diff / axles.

    Andre, please tell this Ford representative there is one major change they missed completely. I do not understand how they missed this since he is boasting all about the massive towing and payload capacity. If towing heavy or heavy payload then you need to provide larger fuel tanks in the short bed trucks. If transfer flow can figure out how to make a 58 gallon tank for the gassers, Ford engineers should also be able to figure that out. Also Ford is missing profit margin. Instead of customers paying transfer flow $2700 for the tank, Ford could be charging for larger tank option and keeping that money instead of it going to an outside vendor.

    So I have towed 25,000 with my ram 3500 many times and exceeded that maximum towing capacity by three or 4 tons in many cases but there is a safety margin that seems to be missing from Ford and if anyone who’s a mechanic knows these trucks or has towing understanding there isn’t any difference between a 3500 ram and a 3500 Ford that are similar in capability but Ford will always state that their vehicle can tow much more than I believe is safe with these vehicles as they are similarly equipped what Ford want you to believe is that ram can’t build a truck capable of these towing numbers, they already have what they’ve decided is not to get involved in liability by pushing the limit beyond where it should be that is left to the “customer“ if we want to exceed those numbers we can the liability falls on us. Ford seems to be just pulling numbers out of the air, Like they usually do and it’s going to come back and bite them when one of these trucks fails and hurt someone any ram truck similar equipped is just as capable as any Ford but anyone who toes heavy loads knows when they’re at the limit of the truck regardless of what the sticker says on the door I have friends who have towed loads that were as heavy as I’ve pulled behind my ram and they struggled and yet the door sticker said that truck was capable of that weight there is a lie being perpetrated by Ford who just wants to have the top number at any cost and believe me the cost will come as they have decided to leave “reality“ and just pull numbers out their butt. there are hot shutters that will tell you that a Ford will pull very heavy loads but has a very tough time holding them back coming down the mountain and it only takes one mistake or one failed part remember the entire drivetrain suspension and even the frame obviously all have to have the same capability including the engine I’m holding that weight back that means the engine has to have the capability of holding back 40,000 pounds which is different than moving 40,000 pounds , and the brakes have to do all the work to bring that load to a stop, everyone needs to remember that part of the equation there’s a reason that maximums are set inside of a margin of safety I don’t believe Ford is staying within the margin of safety but exceeding it and leaving none. I can feel it in my bones there is an incident coming because someone will try to tow these numbers and the truck will fail. towing at the Ike gauntlet is a short test and not reflective of what happens in the real world after you have 150,000 miles on the vehicle., It’s just one example people who understand this and know better would not want to have 40,000 pounds behind them in a power stroke coming down the gauntlet lol whether it’s new or three years old, there is a reason they put air brakes on a school bus because they are more than capable of bringing the load to a stop in any circumstance even if they were hot they are still capable so the margin of safety is 50% more capability on the braking of a school bus.

      So, it's not Ford trying to get the consumer to believe Ram can't keep up, it's an actual engineered standard that's stating it.
      Bottom line, Ram and GM are getting beat and quite honestly, Ford can simply just turn a dial and get whatever they want to obtain out of the 6.7 and there is nothing Ram or GM can do about it. IDK, maybe take another buyout and develop something new.
      What's even funnier, Ford fully redesigned the 2023 and it's still much cheaper than the newest Ram that didn't change anything. Ram just jacked their pricing up for no reason.
      Your competition is GM, beat them first before you try to compete with Ford (you cant).

      Typical dodge owner… “my Cummins can do over sticker safely all day, but that new Ford that no one has driven yet, that thing will kill people hauling it’s rated load” over loaders are the problem.

    I find it interesting that this guy is so concerned about what the customers have to say?
    Seems like Ford isn't at all concerned about customers when it comes to warranty and other problems 🤔
    How about the disastrous years of the 6.0 & 6.4 diesels? Howabout the forever "Death Wabble" problems that they refuse to acknowledge? And more recently the 10spd transmission issues just to name a few???
    And finally the world class piss-poor dealership Quick Lane customer service.
    This guy just seemed to be towing the company narrative, sketchy. Not impressed.

    If the ford tows 40k lbs, it should break within a mile or 2.

    Are the trucks going to become available - production wise? And is ford controlling the dealerships and keeping them from ridiculous mark-ups…

      The market is about to be flooded with 2022s that are finally shipped with chips installed. So, supply will prevent dealers from being able to justify markups. I ordered my 2023 super duty for $1k under MSRP. I think people buying from dealer inventory will do even better than I did
