I love Rockingham and I love this hymn. I have requested that it is sung at my funeral service which hopefully will not happen any time soon . Of all the hymns I know it sums up what I really believe.
I live in the North of Scotland and I enjoy listening to you playing and singing the traditional hymns - your bother plays the organ just like you! Hector
Hi, Rob! WOW!!! Love, love this tune! As I grew up in the Presbyterian Church, and now the United Methodist Church, we always sang this to the tune of hamburg. This is a MUCH better tune. Sometime if I have a chance to select the music for the service, I will use this tune. Cheers from Arizona!
Very nicely played, Rob, in fact, marvellous! 'Morte Christe' is without doubt an excellent tune, but I reckon for congregational singing 'Rockingham' is better - it has a real 'feel' for the words! For some reason or another in the USA they sing this hymn to the tune 'Hamburg' (aka 'Boston') a very good tune, but not for these words.
@@RobCharles1981 I can look for it too, I got some hymnal and stuff, and if I find it I could email it or something like that to ya... Have a good day God Bless
Hey Rob! Sorry to keep bugging you about my request but i have a hymnal here with the sheet music. I dont know if you have found it there or not but if you would like me to i can send you a picture of the sheet music from my hymnal. Thanks -Justin
@@RobCharles1981 Hey there its me again haha. Just wondring if you ever found music to the Hamburg tune for this song? Sorry to bother you so much haha! -Justin B
