    These guys are the best. I had achilles tendonitis for about a month. It prevented my running for a solid week and a half but then I could run no problem after implementing a better strength and stretching regimen. I thought my troubles were over! Now because my right achilles was a little tight when I got back into running my right foot started to develop plantar fasciitis. It is so important to really understand that from your hips down to your toes everything affects everything else. It is all connected. This is both encouraging and somewhat scary. For every injury you get make sure you think both up and down the kinetic chain so that you don't have secondary injuries. Luckily I caught this plantar F thing early on so I can still run and will do proper work to make sure it gets handled. Thanks guys!

      @potblack97 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@drummondanimationstudios Completely healed now! Thanks for asking!
      It is worth mentioning that this issue seemed to take forever to fully heal and probably did take the best part of 3-4 months to completely stop, but it is definitely curable.
      A number of other things also helped me recover quicker including an ultrasonic device that you strap on to the area, as well as some enertor insoles (these were game changing).
      Also, I came across a video explaining how you can easily overdo the stretches that are shown in this video, which can actually have a negative effect on recovery by increasing the micro tears in the fascia. So instead, to actually relieve the area further, focus on stretching the opposing leg muscles (shin side muscles) by pulling your toes down towards your heel and stretching those instead. This helped me massively too.
      Hope this helps! Best wishes!

    What doctors REALLY need to do is recommend people suffering from this to take medical leave from work for awhile.
    I had to fight to get medical leave from my job because the pain was too much to bear. I had a severe case and no sock, splint, stretching, etc, helped. It took a long time for my feet to heal because I continued to work and aggravate my PF. As soon as I took time away from my job and didn’t stress my feet by continually being on them, I finally was able to get my feet back to normal.
    I am now pain free and no problems since.
    YOU NEED TO BE OFF YOUR FEET as much as possible in conjunction with these stretches.

    Thanks for addressing the Achilles’ tendon . I was hobbling in excruciating pain - tried ice baths, massage , all the exercises with only a little relief. Finally did exercises for the Achilles’ tendon plus pinching the tendon between thumb & forefinger and pressing up & down the tendon from heel to calf - that did the trick. Now completely pain free and even after sitting or getting up in the morning there’s no more stiffness or pain.

    I beat planta faciatus after two years of throbbing foot pain that drove me to distraction. Forget the water bottles, the strapping and the pain killers. The cure for me came through measured inserts for my shoes prescribed by an NHS podiatrist. Within two weeks, the worst was over.

      I've been 2 years with throbbing foot pain because my Podiatrist has been the cause of my plantar fasciitis. The arch in my supports keeps digging into my foot, I keep going back to get it adjusted. He can't seem to get the arch right. Now he tells me that i don't need the arch for plantar fasciitis.

    Great information, as always. As an internist, I see many patients with PF. It's almost always very difficult to treat. I'll give these stretches a try. With regard to icing a body part, one trick I've learned is to use a small paper Dixie cup, filled 2/3 full with water. You freeze it, then tear off the bottom of the cup while holding the top and then massaging the affected part with the ice. It's inexpensive and keeps the fingers from getting cold.
