GHL won't let you send a dm to a contact that hasn't sent you one first. So unless the person that comments has previously sent you a message the workflow breaks down and the contact doesn't receive a message

@@HLGuyhas there been any updates / improvements to this DM first issue? It seems that the GHL approach is extremely limited until this is changed.

This does not work with GHL. Does anyone know a workaround for this? I have seen it work with many marketers. I can get it to trigger a reply comment but it gets stopped with the DM.

Great overview, very informative! I have 2 questions:
1. So if we ask the lead what their email address is in the follow up DM and they share it, will HL automatically add their email address to their contact record?
2. What if the contact already exists in our HL account? Will HL create a duplicate record?
1. Yes. @. Depends if you have allow duplicate records turned on in your crm. If not then no if you typically update the contact record. Thanks for watching.

Ray, forgive me if you already answered it in the video. Does this GHL workflow continue the conversation in IG DMs? or does it move it into a text or email?
If you simply reply using IG then yes it will remain but if your workflow requests email and phone number then you can transform the request to sms. Hope that helps.

You are correct they do not. You only collect the information like first name and last name that each platform has on the contact record. However you can use a workflow to request that additional information via the particular channel they commented on to get their phone and email to complete their contact record. That can happen automatically.
@@HLGuy I see so for example to continue the same conversation in FB messenger, and those other contact info could also be captured?
@@alan7595 Yes and No. Continue on same channel but you would have workflow respond to them via messenger something like "Thank you for your interest in our services. Can you please send me your email address so we can update our records?" When the person sends their email GHL will see the address and automatically update their contact record with email. Then you do the same thing for phone number. You would use wait steps in the workflow waiting for the user to respond. Hope this helps you. Have a great day and thank you for watching.

Does this work on paid ads on meta too or just organic content?
Great question you will have to try and see but if you boost a post for instance its still a post but ads don't get displayed on your page like a post so I am not sure.
Hello! Do i also have to integrate the Marketing channel tab? I set the normal Integration but the IG comment trigger does not fire
IG has to be connected to your FB account page if not it won't. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching.
If your IG account is connected to your Facebook page you might want to look at the integration again and maybe delete the connection and add it again.
Does this work on Facebook ads if its connected to the integrated page?
Im not sure. It would have to be tested.
Can this be done on IG professional accounts?
If GHL can connect to the account in the social planner I would think so.
