I have found that everyone suffers with addiction in different ways, we just suffer from a drug one. I journeyed my detox/ withdrawal off heroin from day 5 all the way to the present. I have journaled many experiences and have shown many of my stories on my channel. During this process I have learned much and continue to learn. I have found that we addicts need new people, places and things for sure!
People Overdosing and dying from addiction is real! I detoxed off heroin and know what its like to be stuck and not be able to stop using drugs. Intervention is sometimes necessary because I know the mind of an addict first hand. The way these drugs feel consumes the addict and they cannot think of stopping and follow through without proper help from others.
Addiction can be overcome. Cocaine, alcohol, benzos, adderal, ecstacy, opioids, heroin, steroids & mushrooms are just some of the drugs that I have tried. I wasn't addicted to all of those listed but I have experimented with these. The war on drugs is stupid and the stigma on drug addicts needs to change in order to help the drug addiction issues within America.

Xanax is not the problem. People abusing it is the problem. Take a low dose in moderation, relaxing. and helps you sleep through the night without any worries or anxiety.
Any pill that you don't need is a drug. Xanax is lethal and addictive. Nothing about it is cool and if you think so your a dumbass
And if you need a pill to relax your a bum. Unless you have a condition, or a reason for a doctor to prescribe them
xanx is part of the problem, its highly addictive and heavily romanticized. the other part of the problem is mental health. do not ever blame the addict, it is a disease and majority of people don't get addicted to shit to be cool they do it because living life high is easier than living life feeling the way they do.

Nope. Xanax is playing the same game Purdude Pharma game all over again. Everyone in this new generation claims to have anxiety, it's a highly addictive substance, very dangerous when not a legit script. Tolerance builds real quick with benzos and opiates. The drug companies are thrilled it's a heavily abused drug. Don't get me wrong some people do need it, but it's way over prescribed. Plus the whole you can die off of detoxing from it.

Derek I just wanna thank you so much for all of the work you put into your videos and helping the community. I’m 19 years old and today is my 23 day off fentanyl and all opiates. I watched your videos nonstop during my early withdrawal to stay motivated and it made all the difference. I got prescribed suboxone a week ago and yesterday was my first day working again. Thank you so much for the effort you put into supporting the community.

My grandma was prescribed Xanax over three and a half years, at 2 mg a day, and was abruptly cut off the by her doctor and having no other sources to obtain any benzodiazepines, so had to go cold turkey. Needless to say it was pretty bad, two and a half weeks laying in bed sick with high fevers, chills ,aches, muscle spasms ect... And after 3 weeks was mostly back to normal thank God, but since she was living alone at the time nobody knew of the situation, otherwise I would have came and at least of helped her through sickness if I wasn't able to get any benzodiazepines for her. But for her doctor to Cut Her Off of her medication without even telling her of the withdrawals and/or any of the other many dangers of the abrupt cessation of a benzodiazepine which can cause seizures and even death, that is not only incompetent but malicious.
He should be sued for malpractice
You can literally die that way. 2 drugs that can kill you if you stop abruptly are benzos and alcohol.

I suffer from OCD and I take xanax as prescribed by my psychiatrist. It helps me greatly. At the end of the day you need to always turn to a professional and make sure you are getting prescribed a clinically safe and necessary dose. Do not abuse any drug

it pretty much feels like your anxiety can't control you anymore and you finally relax for the first time in awhile, or like you just got home from a long day at work but you weren't stressed at all it was just a naturally long day. Amazing medication and whoever is taking xanax because they need it, don't abuse it or it wont work for the next panic attacked day.

I have some insane stories on zans, 1 being I took 6 bars one night and went to drive from my boys house back to my house (blacked out) half way home, I black and roll the car over, all I remember is a guy pulling me out of the car then talking to cops then I came to when I was being released from county jail, NEVER TOOK ZANS EVER SINCE but before that I had years worth of stories off bars

Gerald Levert's brother or relative died here in a Cleveland Ohio Jail because he didn't have his Xanax in jail. I have cold turkeyed Xanax twice in my life and I almost died. It was terrible. I was on it for long long periods of time and it was horrifying coming off of it. One time I was weened off of it and it was lightweight compared to cold turkey. I have done both opiates and benzos and I would say coming off Xanax is way way way worse than opiates...UGH

I 100% percent agree. I have gone through cold Turkey opiates more than I can count.. but being prescribed to a benzo, taking 3 times a day as prescribed (ativan.. couldn't get high off it like xanax so I literally didn't think any damage was being done). The withdrawal I experienced was wayyyy worse than opiates and I didn't think that was possible! It took me like 3 days to realize what was happening to me was benzo withdrawal. Absolutely awful. Went 6 days.. refilled my script.. weened down..and never refilled or went on them again. It's been almost 3 years. I wish I could say the same thing about oxy. Been battling this off and on addiction for 2 years.
Don't take xanax guys. Just don't. I'm going through benzo withdrawals right now and I can tell you xanax is not worth it.

Xanax are highly addictive not just mental addiction but it becomes very physical after some time being on them, i literally get bad chest pains the sweats a fever, its not good but if you ween down off them slowly you will be fine. I suffer with anxiety and panic attacks but i know its been brought on by circumstances i am trying my best to change things but i feel like im stuck in a rutt. I will get through it though im praying to jesus everyday

It's called _"retrograde amnesia"_ and it's terrifying bro. Benzos are often used as a pre-medication before surgery so you won't remember the traumatic experience..
Also, did you say there you were in Afghanistan? I didn't realise you served in the military? Or were you there in the capacity of some kind of civilian contractor? I did two combat tours of Helmand Province (2006 and 2008)... hellish place..
Yes brother, I was a civilian contractor in Bagram. I believe I was over there in 2010.
@@DerekLambertRecovery cool. I passed through Bagram a few times but almost all my time was in Helmand bar a very short period of time in Kandahar. Unfortunately though, Helmand around that time (2006-2008) was horrendous in terms of the intensity of the fighting. It was the worst part of the country for many years and initially in 2006 there was just my batallion of paratroopers against the entire insurgency in that area. We were later joined by some US Marines but even then we were struggling. We were in sustained contacts day in day out for months...

After reading the comments here I thought I would share my situation: I stopped drinking alcoholic beverages for about a month now for weight loss, muscle building reasons and concern of overuse. Since not having these alcoholic beverages for a month i am significantly and markedly more clear headed and alert which also means more acutely aware of perplexing anxiety causing thoughts, however as I employ the thought stopping and thought exchanging techniques from my counselor I am beginning to turn the tables on the anxiety and low feelings. It's gonna take some time and continous work but I think it will be better with Jesus helping me and my counselors guidance than a pill(s).
All I remember about my one time trying this was waking up with nothing on but a shirt that wasn’t mine....
Thank GOD it was my husbands and I was in our bed!!!! But, I have ABSOLUTELY NO RECALL OF GOING TO BED AND GETTING THAT SHIRT PUT ON ME! I was too afraid to tell my husband what I had taken and that I couldn’t remember a single thing from the night before. He seemed pretty pleased with himself so I’m ASSUMING we had a fun night!
But...it SCARED the hell out of me that I couldn’t remember...and still can’t..A SINGLE MOMENT OF THAT NIGHT!
Thank God I made it home and did nothing to jeopardize my marriage!!!!

I never got the big thing with xanax. It was pretty much just a strong sleeping pill to me. There was one time i took it at a wedding reception though where they had free alcohol and those professional photographers. Blacked out for most of the night, and it was strange looking through the hundreds of photos of the timeline of the night to see how much I actually remembered doing...which was only maybe 10% of the photos I was in. The benzo/alcohol combo is hard to not black out on entirely. I knew someone though that would take literally 100s of them over the course of a couple nights or less, Seemed insane to me. They would forget days of time, pretty scary really.

Snorting Xanax doesn't do anything anyway; it's essentially wasting medication because it's less bioavailable (less absorbs into your blood) than through oral use. Also after 3 weeks daily use you were definitely withdrawing from the Xanax and that's why you felt so bad.

I was prescribed Xanax for about 6 months, from late 2009 to about summer 2010. And it was working really well for me, as I was taking it as directed. But then, for no real reason, I stopped taking them cold-turkey. Felt lousy for about a week, with vertigo, but then I was okay. Was just prescribed it again yesterday as I'm going through some real shit. Here's hoping.

I was addicted to xanax for about 2 1/2 years. I would pop around 4 bars a day, then quickly went up to 6 bars daily. It wasn't until I got arrested at school before I finally decided I needed treatment. It took me around a year or so to feel somewhat normal.. Now i have such BAD anxiety. I have DOZENS of panic attacks every month. It was and still is hell. Alcohol became the substitute and I began drinking all day everyday but I functioned. I was getting shit done but then the MAD depression started.. Im still trying to get off booze but I simply dont feel like I wanna continue living with all these shitty ass feelings. I am going to continue with my journey to full recovery and will never give up, I just wanted to say what I felt. Have a great day

I hope you got help 🤙🏼 , if I may give you a word of advice and some personal knowledge I am diagnosed with ocd and antidepressants kinda works wonders for me I also take xans to relax too (prescribed) but really antidepressants work!! Weirdly I've found some people are way more susceptible to the blackouts where they're able to actually go and do normal stuff without being there consciously than others, I've never had it happen myself even after consuming 10 bars with low tolerance I just slept for like 2 days and was confused as fuck when I woke up, but my brother could have 2 bars and literally go break into somewhere without realising very weird how it differed from person to person EDIT: These are incredibly scary to come off long term, short term (under a month) you wont have many issues, I did have a stint of consuming around 150 bars a month on average for 6 months and went cold turkey (this was a huge mistake) I has sleepless nights for months (Severe anxiety in my forehead and eyes not being able to relax) as well as two seizures during PAWS, If you ever do these long term, ALWAYS Taper no matter what, it's the only way to remain safe
It jus kinda puts a weird hold on u if u eat em 2 days 3 days in a row it's like a small voice in ya head like go ask for another one go buy another one but ya funds don't be right so u cant buy any more
i only use .5mg and you feel relaxed then you go to sleep. When you wake up you feel like you drank the day before.

I've done some weird s*** the few times I mixed Xanax and alcohol!! I only know this because people either told me or while putting the pieces of my life back together from the night before. It's like a trail of breadcrumbs of stupidity starting with figuring out where the hell I was when I woke up.

I take Xanax but it’s not prescribed and it helps with anxiety but there have been times where I wake up in another room. xanax is kinda like drinking and it can be dangerous if it’s abused.

Sooo me as a 14 year old got into some xanax I only took 1 blue football I felt great I could talk to anybody with out freaking out and I do not take it everyday I just take it when I absolutely need it

I was doing doing 14mg xanax a day and 6-12 beers a day, and when I came off the withdrawals were unreal... I was shaking, sweating, puking, hallucinating, blackouts, insomnia for 3-4 days, itching, headaches, I may have had seizures I dunno... but I definitely should have done it in a hospital and not at home. I still remember some of the insane hallucinations like they were real, but they're literally not possible. like dreaming but not knowing it was a dream.

I was on 10-15 mg of alprazolam a day and couldnt do it cold turkey after a couple tries. I went to a psychiatrist and she cut my dose in half and then slowly over the weeks converted it into diazepam (valium) and only when i was on like 120 mg of diazepam a day i started cutting the dose over the following months. it took me around 4 months to get to 10 mg which was two tablets 5 mg diazepam each and then i just stopped taking it and i felt very light withdrawals symptom for couple days and then it was ok. I also took 150-600 mg of pregabalin with that. My short term memory was absolutely destroyed. i was calling my fiancee with the same thing 7 times in a row, i forgot things mid conversation, lost stuff etc but it came back to normal after 8-9 months. Im clean now, id take some clonazepam/lorazepam/alprazolam once or twice a month but its nothing compared to the time i was addicted. If you cant do it cold turkey find a good doctor and try tapering the dose even if not to zero then try to get back to a medical dose. Even if it feels like its impossible at the moment you can do it. Recovery can be a long and rocky road but ultimately it will help you the most. i say it as a guy who kicked numerous long addictions through his life including benzo opio thc coco and more. I wish yall the best and remember to stop putting yself down for relapses n stuff. Focus on being sober 5 minutes at a time. Even being on a maintenance drug or to be completely honest, doing less of a drug is a step in the good direction. One step at a time.

You're not supposed to drink and take xanax. Every thing you did is something that you are not supposed to do. It says right on the bottle not to mix xanax with alchohol.
My experience with Xan, which i nnever got addicted to thank good. You either woke up the next day with a shit ton of money or woke up with all your money gone... and you have nno fucking idea how or what happened. Over time you can slowly remember the day before but not really. you will just remember bits and pieces kinda like pictures.

I was a heavly addicted to all benzos a long time im living in sweden we dont have xanax we have xanor and That addiction was a slovley suicide for me becuse it was bad becuse i consumed very much of xanor but know im clean from benzos and strugling with another addiction but know im 3 week sober and strugling everyday, peace out!
I'm prescribed 1mg per day xanax for anxiety but I don't find that it's a great help, the only time I take one is at night to help me sleep if I feel like im gonna have an anxious night of insomnia, I don't take them during the day even if I feel anxious I really don't like the dopey out of it feeling the xanax gives me on top of the anxiety.

I want to stop but i just dont have a plan. I been to detox two times first time i detoxed i was 2 weeks clean and relapsed by being around a friend that still used ...... second time i left ama after the 4th day and used right after . What do u suggest . I was watching ur videos while i was doing the 5 day inpatient detox. I dont use needles just snort. Been snorting for a year now 5 bundles a day. Before this i used blues for 2 years .
Xanax black out. Been there before but it was because the milligram was to much for me. If you don’t go over your limit it will be enjoyable and it takes away anxiety . I have very bad anxiety and Xanax really helps... i don’t abuse it tho. I take it every now and then :) .. I heard withdrawal from it is horrible and deadly 😱
