I absolutely love unagi, if it’s correctly prepared and cooked it almost has a buttery flavour with a hint of smokiness.

I like your vids because it's a strictly no-commentary video, and you showcase the travels and the foods, unlike a lot of channels where they either walk silently or just check out the foods silently. It's like watching 2 travel channels at the same time

Awesome, that would be just the type of place I would want to go in Tokyo. $30 to $40 is not so bad, the experience would be priceless, and that eel, and green tea looks delicious!

@fruitdemon It's actually not that bad visiting Japan price wise. Round trip tickets can cost anywhere from $600-1000 round trip depending on what time of year you go. Decent hotels can be had for around $80 or so (but they can be quite small). Even cheaper options exist including capsule hotels and even hostel types. Food isn't that bad either. You can eat very good and decent priced meals from 7-11, fast food, and sit down restaurants. I ate at a conveyor belt sushi place in Osaka and it didn't cost me more than 30 dollars. Do your research and it doesn't have to be as expensive as people think it is.

Likely you’re eating US eel as we catch a lot of them but the problem is we have no use for them so we export all of our catch to Asia. What we do keep is usually given to Asian restaurants for them to use. The thing is we tend to catch saltwater eel more somehow. Also remember eel can’t be eaten raw at all as it has a toxin in there when raw but it does come out when hands are washed or gloves are worn. The toxin also breaks completely down when exposed to heat hence why it’s always been cooked.
