Very helpful. I've just successfully rewired my Epee using this video as a guide. I made a dog's dinner of the glueing, but it should do the job; bloody messy though, he did it with such grace.
wow I just tried glueing the wire on my epee for the first time. LOL i have glue all over the blade now! i'll scrape off the extra after it dries, hopefully won't be a problem. thanks for the video Andrew.
@vinipinto Ooohhhh...I don't know. You should see my workbench when I'M doing rewires!! It's a wonder I can find the parts at all, considering how much armory I do!
I have a quick question. I'm currently repairing a whole bunch of epee, and I still have not found the right glue to do so. In your video, you've shown that the glue flows by itself through the groove. Is it just a superglue or any specific type.👍🏻😁
I believe this is the glue, you can see the pink bottle on the table Zap ca thin pt08. I can't paste the link to Amazon but try searching those keywords
As far as I can tell, he's using a glue with a low viscosity, meaning it's thin/liquidy enough to flow down the blade. If your glue is more viscous/thicker, you'll need to spread it evenly down the blade/wire yourself.
Florian Müller, any thinner superglue should work. Mergs like Gorilla brand, but that's here in the USA. Fletching glue, for arrows, has more elasticity, but it's not always available at local hardware shops.
one thing you could do with, a magnetic tray, so you dont lose the big nut haha!! Very informative however and some great tips I can take for myself, thanks for posting!!
Hi, I wasn't making an instructional video, we were all attending a live armoury course which I happened to video. Hence why people around were commenting and asking questions. Thanks for watching.
Came across his video as I need to re-wire my epee. How lovely it was to hear your voice Ely! We all miss you at Watford; you're always welcome.
Thanks Hefin 💕

Martin Dugdale : it happens to most of us the first time. You made me homesick for England, loved your comments. Cheers!

Great video!!!! I just hope he organizes his table in the future... :)
Vinicius Pinto, that's actually fairly common for armourers (especially during tournaments). Not to worry, we know where our stuff is.

Great video and thank you. Can you let us know what length the of the dog leads were between the two ends?
His rewire jig that holds the wires down is only available for Leon Paul blades, I think.
you just need it for this kind of blade shape
thanks for the informative video, I'm new as technician, how many glue do you use?, I saw just some spots not the entire blade. Thanks for the answere

What kind of dremel bit is best for removing glue?
bransler , #420 cutting wheel for Epee, and #409 for foil.
What kind of glue is it?

What is the difference between a sword price fighters epee point and a Leon Paul epee point
leon paul is more expensive :P

it helps, when making an instructional video, for people NOT TO TALK when near the camera...
