Girl.....I am a journeyman skilled tradesman (tradeswoman). I've been in my trade for almost 27 years. What you are doing is not easy. For what it's worth, I am very proud of you. Stick with it, and If you make a mistake, you can fix it. Just keep going!!!!
Best advice I could possibly give and many others here have already said it. Remove ALL the old carpet. All the cabinets come apart with screws and can be put back with ease. Plus it will make putting down new flooring much easier with all the cabinets out. A little more work but much better end result, plus the piece of mind knowing for sure it’s all clean!!
GIRL! With your building skill, this is NOT a lost. BEST REVENGE! With your skills, you rebuild this RV and say , this lesson, I got and it didn’t beat me. Life is meant to knock you down to teach you about you . Did you get the life lesson get up & fight or lay down & not fight
I 100% agree I would remove any flooring material anything because you never know where or what has been on it and can cause bacteria black mold to set up and would definitely not be good for the baby to breathe
I hope you.let the seller know you and that you also post him/her the videos. Granted you probably (in hindsight,as much as is possible, given that a certain amount of trust and transparency is expected from buyer to seller) have checked it more thoroughly. Nevertheless I totally understand your disappointment. I do believe their is light from this......from the very beginning to go to the ends with this will be so worth it! You've got a stunning layout and can make it work and live living happily in it if you do this intentionally and totally thoroughly. You will have peace of mind, great success and satisfaction. If not then you would have done an outstanding job to resell with a conscience. You will have choices. I admire your tenacity, best of luck❤
My old RV experience...I bought a 1992 Toyota MH back in 2017. I bought it from a couple who wanted to travel with their little dogs and found the one was terrified of being in it, so were selling it. I took it to a mechanic before agreeing to buy it and had it checked over mechanically. It passed with flying colours and the shop was super impressed. It also had a 25 year old recall for some parts that never got seen to, so I was able to take it to a Toyota dealership to have that seen to and had a bunch of other stuff replaced as they had to dive deep in to the motor for the recall and it saved me a ton in the long run. So I had a very sound, mechanically, MH. Then the reno started. I was painting and found the over cab bed covered rotting wet wood. I was devastated. But, thankfully I have a very handy and willing husband who rebuilt it for me, stronger and better than the original. I also found rotting wood under the shower. I used a wood hardener to harden up the rotted wood, which worked great. I sealed the roof with eternabond, did a whole interior redecorate and a couple of years ago painted the exterior. It has been a labour of love. She is my happy place and I don't regret any of the work that has gone in to her. Her name is HONEY.
As a fire and water damage expert for 35 years. When you do a restoration, take it to the bear bones. In other words, you're never going to get pee out of a piece of wood, it saturates the wood and will be there forever. You're never going to take part of the carpet out without pulling everything out that is sitting on the carpet. Then remove all carpet and all wood that is saturated in urine, replace all subfloors that have water damage,Then begin ANEW😮. In other words. Rebuild And create you're OWN version of what you want !Have no regrets.BEGIN with your own ideas and don't look back.😂😢😮. Seriously, you're not leaving just a little bit of that carpet. In places that makes no sense that urine saturated your carpet, you're never going to get it out, and it also gets into your sub floor and that should be removed, or you're going to have the smell of urine forever. IN FOR A PENNY IN FOR A POUND
Total agree...I have 25 years of Property Management and know without a doubt the carpet and the subfloor have to be replaced. That plywood subfloor is going to hold that nasty smell forever. Stay strong!!
@@tinkerton7856 not really. That odor will never ever leave. Masking it with bleach or kilz is only a temporary fix. The carpet and wood needs to be completely removed.
I can't offer any useful advice on RV stuff but I hope you get this sorted soon for yourself. I sounds like you have a real nice track planned out. Happy holidays from the UK .🙂
@Darnabymom maybe, but once the urine and poop saturate the cheap carpet , the smell will never ever leave the carpet. It isn't worth the risk to save any of that carpet anyway. Rebuilding over it will not hide the smell. It has its own life and must be destroyed!!!! Lol but serious.
I mean, I'd look at the flooring, too. If it's wood, it absorbs liquids. And any water that's gotten in is the Good part of that news cycle. There's rodent urea in there, too. Products exist to eliminate that stuff with enzymes, but to be honest, I only ever trust them on small spots and basically fabric. Is there a way to peak behind the wall panels without utter destruction? Because rats ... and mice ... if there's space ... Maybe talk to someone who raises rodents and knows both what they're capable of, and how to manage their wastes. You want a safe, clean environment, in the end.
@heidifogelberg3544 Yes, I agree. Since it's almost a complete rebuild anyway, I would replace all the wood that the carpet came in contact with. The walls are probably full of rodent droppings and urea as well. There is nothing worse than that smell, especially when you have rebuilt over it and can no longer reach it.
Jaylena, be super careful of hantavirus from the mouse droppings & urine. When they are moved or disturbed it's released into the air you breathe. Might want to wear a mask & would probably be a good idea to replace everything that came in contact with it. I wouldn't let Ember in there until its all done. You are so inspiring Jaylena. You are showing Ember everyday how to be a strong, competent woman & all around amazing person. You've got this & anything else that comes your way!💜🤗
I was going to say exactly this! Mice and rats love to chew so check over every inch of that wiring. I'd just pull everything out and rebuild it. Leave no old carpet behind like many others have said. I'd wear gloves and a mask dealing with anything since mice droppings and urine. Mice have virus/disease and prob not good to touch anything they went to restroom on with bare hands. It will be a lot of work but well worth it in the end.
I’m so sorry the seller lied like he did and that you are having to put so much effort and money into restoring your rv. One thing is for sure, when you’re done it will be awesome.
For carpet removal - I bought an electric, cordless power cutter from Harbor Freight for about $40. It works like a dream on carpet and we also use it to cut up boxes for recycle. We've been using it for all sorts of things for about 2 years now and it's still going strong. You're doing a great job, it will be beautiful when you're done with it!
Feeling defeated by mice problem, just remember Ember will be on the floor and curiously opening every crook and cranny. Knowing that you changed out everything needed. Big accomplished.
I have been buying and building vehicles for many years. People have their own definition of great condition, and they usually don't match mine. Unless you spend hours looking at the vehicle, there is a chance you will find surprises. You are fortunate to have the experience to take advantage of a great base and built it the way you want. Yes, you hoped you wouldn't have to do all this work, but you can't look back. Keep up the good work!
This guy knew how it was he lied but you know what they say about KARMA... You can do this. I've watched you for a longggg you are a wonderful builder .. HAPPY HOLIDAYS ❤
The level indicator lights are notorious for being wrong. Once you figure out what levels the tanks are really at you can use them as a rough estimate.
@@timgillman What you are referring to is the indicators for black and grey water tanks. The indicators for propane are a different design and don't have to deal with nasty residue, they typically work pretty good.
I know you’re young, don’t take your back for granted ! Wearing a back brace will help you in the long run. You are doing an awesome job !! Merry Christmas from NC
Just GUT IT Jaylena 💪🏻 Total rehab job - you will not regret it. It will be exactly the way you want it and it will be clean. You and Ember deserve it 🥰
Please wear a mask! Breathing in mouse droppings can lead to Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), a serious and potentially deadly disease that affects the lungs. You are working so hard, you don’t want to get sick.
Good video. It’s clear you’re disappointed and frustrated about the deal/unit you purchased. From my seat, it’s not bad at all. Take your time and build yourself a safe home that you can enjoy for a long time. Remember, good things happen to good people. This will all work out!
SUGGESTION....change every fluid and every filter in that rv engine and change every belt and get a tune up.That year Ford v10 destroys spark plugs. Known issue. Replace spark plugs sooner that ford recommends. Also, listen to the requests for u to replace all carpet and wood that has mouse pizz. Ive renovated homes w urine smells and smoke and fire. If you do not get rid of every piece affected, then everytime ur rv heats up or sun hits it, the odor will reappear. Good Luck
I installed a webasto gasoline heater in my van. It pulls fuel directly out of the fuel tank. I eliminated all propane with lithium batteries/inverter and induction cooking. Just a thought. Enjoying your rebuild. Hang in there, you’ll get it done.
Heat gun is probably needed to get that carpet off the wheel wells. That and a scraper. I am pretty sure it is glued down. Gonna need to peel it back a little to heat it underneath. And scrap as it heats up
I agree / The pad is probably the issue now but cleaning the carpet makes it a less noxious chore / Glad to see the mask! / What about a regular propane tank that is stored inside and feeds multiple units if the built in is too far gone to fix or too expensive to replace, you will be able to control and even carry a spare
Regarding your furnace and water heater- have you considered a Truma Combi? It is a combination furnace and water heater in one. You can get it in either 12V with LP, or with gas, or with diesel. Yes, it is a bit pricey but all in one and will save some space in the long run.
Depending upon subfloor rot/pee. If only a small area, you might be able to seal with a few coats of BIN primer. If the wood has swelled/delamination, definitely replace those sections. You are taking photos BEFORE demolition??? Label things, use masking tape. Helps when you are considering refit/replacement. This will be great when complete.
Jaylena, just something to think about, is spend some time looking around your Chinook, every place you can possibly look in to, as to 'rat proof' your unit, before you get going on the rebuild too far. You never want to have this issue again, so it's just a heads up, to spend some time seeing possibly where the vermin are getting in. Apparently, I'm told to also check up front, as they can work their way from the engine area, and even come in through heater ducts and such, so making sure everything is sealed is essential with your little one on board. We also keep mouse traps with us, for a 'just in case' senerio! You're amazing, and kudos to your hard work and abilities on your rebuild Jaylena! Interestingly...one time we had an issue with our motorhome a couple years ago, and where told to go to Eugene (which we did) and had excellent service. Unfortunately one of our four 'slides' needed parts, which were going to take a week to come in, but we tow our car behind us, so we just drove home to the Vancouver, British Columbia area (7 hour drive) but still, they did a great job on the repair that was needed!
Ozone Machine, baby! Those rodents hide where you can't see. They will run out as Ozone depletes the oxygen in the area! Yes, remove all plants and food from van/room! It works great! Do the Research!
Be nice guys she’s got enough. She’s going through as is.! Celebrate with her as she gets it back to perfect or perfect the way she wants it let’s be kind!!😮❤❤ It’s going to be beautiful when she gets it completed !
for every gallon of LPG you burn it gives off a gallon of water, so, you are making moisture which will condense as water droplets or fogged windows in your walls, floors etc.
I am so sorry that this happened to you! I know you will learn from this experience! Hard lessons! Your are a strong young woman! You got this girl!! Please stop beating yourself up about it! Unfortunately things like this happen to good people! God bless!
Thank goodness you have the ability to do this work! It really touched my heart in another video when you said that you were glad you bought it instead of the older lady who thought it would be turn key (not exact words)…love your heart, sorry the seller was such a dirtbag! I ca t wait to see where you end up with this build!
I wish others wouldn't give you such a hard time about purchasing that rig. Just live and let live. As time goes on, you'll learn. Some think they have a right to judge. I think you'll make THIS RV absolutely BEAUTIFUL because of your skills. You NEVER give up, and that is commendable on ANY LEVEL! Good luck Jaylena, although I know you don't need it. Still beautiful Jaylena.🎉🎉🎉❤
I agree, there is absolutely no reason to give her a bad time, as she has the experience in doing these jobs, and she then will have the pride in her work and in the unit itself! We as supporters can be proud of her work as well!
@@Powerstroke98 I do not think people are giving her a hard time, I just think everyone is concerned that some ass hat sold her a vehicle for way to much money. Everything can be fixed but she is a single mother and as these jobs continue to come up, that is money that could be spent on her daughter, or on making memories out on the road with her daughter instead of having to spend money that she may have ear marked for something else. I wish I could afford to send her some money to help with the extra work that is required on her camper van.
I don't know why people are so rude sometimes. I love how open you are to advice and also your efforts to remain positive when faced with so much disappointment. It would be so easy to just be mad and negative about being lied to. With the carpet, couldn't you just cut into it and then use a tool, like a tile lifter tool or something to get under it?
Ignore the negativity honey, (I’ve just come across your channel and I’m watching you from a little island off the coast of the U.K….). I think you’re awesome! … it’ll come together and you’ll love it … if you need cheering up put some of your favourite tunes on and sing whilst your working. I hope the man that sold it to you see this and is embarrassed. You’ve got this ! x
They have blades made specifically for carpets. Has a sharp edge on top and bottom of it. Or you can use a roofing shingle blade, which has a hook at the end of it. Hopefully that helps. Plus you should invest in a better flashlight. Like an Olight or a Fenix.
Have you seen Creativity RV's channel? She has one on RV Propane & Wiring Danger and she discusses using a professional RV inspector before buying and each year to check on weather damage.
I love watching you restoring your coach. If I were you I would get another opinion from another RV repair shop about the propane tank and the heater. I have been restoring a 1988 Dolphin class A 34 footer for the last 5 years and I am just not sure about what you said that he told you. I am no expert, but I have never heard of those things he told you. BTW, please stop saying hot water heater. It's just a water heater. If the water was already hot you wouldn't need to heat it.😉 You got that right! After you put in the work, you will have something to be really proud of.
You got this!! Long run you will feel better about having done all this work. Your confidence in your rig alone will be incredible. Also knowing that where ever Ambers little fingers can get you will know will be clean and safe.
Jaylena you’ve got this and I can’t wait for you to put your own flavor to your home! By the way, I absolutely love your haircut and color it really looks awesome!
I love your positivity... you can't know how to do everything on a van build and add your finding out there are unfortunately some very unscrupulous people out there but you'll get there and as you've said you'll be even more proud because you did it yourself and you'll know all that you went through keep your chin up you got this
That Duo therm does not cycle between heat and cold. It only does either or. Also, it's very easy to just ad a simple Atwood heater tstat from the heater to the wall. He is just trying to sell you things you don't need. As far as the propane tank is concerned, I would spend the money and get a new one. It isn't that hard to get one made. Do your research, find a tech that can help you who isn't out to Rob you. I'm a 35 year rv tech/collision guy and I have no problem answering people's questions. It's want honorable technicians do. You are more than welcome to ask me.
Definitely rebuild…bleach floor then Kilz primer. A truck driver friend of mine almost died from respiratory disease because the cab/sleeper had rodent urine throughout. Dangerous stuff. 😷
Please please please just replace that propane tank for your safety, I know it’s a pain getting a new one but safety must come first. Loving your videos by the way .
i'm somewhat of a new subscriber. what you're doing is amazing and takes patients and skills , and i understand everyone's situation is different. i have 3 friends that did a van-RV remodel during 2020 and all 3 had more issues than anticipated, also every youtuber that's doing something similar has more issues than they thought. it could be that he knew, or he knew about some but not all . that said, if it was me (I'm 50) I'd replace all the wiring-all the propane stuff including tank-anything than is life essential and call it a day. PS: you really should wear gloves and mask cleaning Rat poop (black plague !!!)
Since you are planning to make this RV your home, I recommend that you pay special attention in the rebuild to keeping critters out. Most RV builders don’t really make them tightly protected from invasions of bugs and creatures. But since you will be building it again from the foundation up, you can do that.
I hope this is your final restoration for a long while. I love watching your progress but know that you need something permanent and reliable. May all your changes be good ones for you and Ember.
I am sorry you got burned on this deal, but as always, I am so freaking proud of you and your amazing 👏 skills!!!😊🎉❤ You Rock, Kiddo!!!😊😅😂 You will be so grateful 💖 💛 🙏 ❤️ when this is all done!!!😊😊😊❤
Try a multi tool with a scraper blade for the carpet removal, Crack the windows open when possible, I understand that it's cold out, but you need ventilation to allow for the smell fumes ext to get out, wear a mask when messing with the removal, it is totally necessary for your health, some gloves also, mice droppings can carry some nasty disease that you don't want, be safe , I'm enjoying watching the progress, thanks for sharing
THIS-> "OdorPet Concentrate" the brand name. Veterinarian recommend. It has enzymes that break down urine in carpets, on fabric, etc. It's what the Charge Nurse/Director of a stepped up care facility always has cleaning services use who either cleaned apartments in an assisted living facility, or had her in house staff use when someone has passed away. It removes everything harmful to humans and smells like lavender or black cherry. Mask, respirator preferably until every inch of that RV has been washed down. Toss the wood, carpet, underlayment, anything thats absorbent. Consider yourself chucked on the shoulder, hugged or whatever friendly gesture fits the bill😉👍
Ok so we were duke as well I didn’t want to buy ours it was rusty and not taken care of. My partner wanted it against my advice. We have a 1996 ford coachman I had all the mechanical work done tires etc. I took out the propane tank and ordered a new one it took 2 years to get it I completely demo the whole van down to the metal walls and fiberglass top. Found some new windows the old one sealed shut. So I now have all new appliances and remodeling the entire van. So far I’m still adding framework and insulation stage . Found a lot of mouse stuff and rust and holes but I’m glad I did this so I get your frustration and feeling. I’m also excited about making it my own. But now I have it stored until summer. I’m leaving to go across country in January until summer. Best wishes and enjoy your project it will be worth it it in the end Jax
When you’re done yours can you come and do mine? Ugh! 1997 American Cruiser, had so much rust around the air conditioner ended up doing a complete body work with a Rhino paint. She looks beautiful! Now the inside. Lots of water damage so gutting it and getting it spray foamed then put it all back together. You’re doing an awesome job, thanks for sharing, enjoy learning about the good, bad and ugly. 🤗
Tearing up a thick carpet takes a lot of strength... It is advisable to disassemble everything. That way the carpet will come out in one piece. Wood absorbs odors. It is advisable to replace the wood floor + paint with glossy varnish = to seal water and odors... Recommendation after installation: wood floor + varnish + thick nylon + before carpet. So if coffee is spilled or food falls on the carpet. It is not absorbed by the wood... In general, wood without varnish is sealed. A habitat for bacteria, especially in a humid area / or 00
OMG, I’m sorry that you’re dealing with this. Please for you and your daughter’s health rebuild those seats. Get rid of it all. You’re an amazing woman. You got this.
I am so sorry you have had to go through this .. extra work .. But knowing this is going to be amazing when you have completed this renovation/ restoration I am excited to see you achieve this goal of a beautiful home for self. Merry Christmas from little Ol' New Zealand ... and wish you the best of 2025 ...
If the smell continues try using baking soda. Sprinkle on the wood floors, carpets and leave at least over night. The only thing I can think about for the carpets is maybe applying heat to it and then try taking out. Just some ideas. I hope your doing and your family have a blessed Christmas and New Year!!!
I am having a box truck built out. My builder put on an 18" bumper and put the steel top on so my propane tanks can be mounted in a steel cabinet made of catwalk material with 2 shelves. He said old ladies like me don't need propane tanks inside. If your propane isn't safe, your life is in danger. You will sleep better at night if you replace that propane tank.
Kilzs or Z PRIME will seal the floor against smells. As for the propane tank, once removed, sanded, primed and coat of paint, go to a propane DEALER have them install new valves and recertify for safety. I had to do this for my 2012 travel trailer. Most rv tank readers won't after a few years, My black tank always reads full because tp gets caught on sensor screws and causes the low voltage circuit to turn all four LD lights.
I'm a Carpenter who has done a lot of house remodeling. I like to use a roofing shovel for carpet removal. They also make smaller one handed versions. They are flat with notches in the front edge. They also have an angle a bit behind the front edge so you can dig it under the carpet/ roofing shingles, then pry down for leverage. I find this much easier on my body. Great job so far. I can't wait to see how this comes together. Keep the positive thoughts. It's always darkest before the dawn.
I renovated a 1974 Silver Streak a few years back. The first thing I did was got a tetnus shot due to rusted nails & such. I "forgot" to wear my respirator when I ripped out the old, nasty carpet! I was so thrilled how easily it came out, that I just forgot! Big mistake. I got really sick for several days. I see you had a mask on though. 👍 Be careful & cautious. Especially since you're dealing with rat/mouse droppings & urine. I'm sorry that you're dealing with that. I love Chinooks, that old school type. They are great rigs! It will be fun to watch along the way. One other mistake that I made, which might help others on renovations is: I used a beautiful wood laminate flooring....but it was not waterproof. Now I have to replace it - bummer! It got wet when the roof vent leaked & destroyed that flooring. Keep up the good work! 💪
If you watch WD detailing. They found something that works on rat/mouse urine smell. They some how put a bowl with baking soda in the center console of a barn find car. Im not sure what else is added to it. But its left over night in a completely sealed vehicle. Mice/rats in a car is completely normal. I know you are frustrated that the seller didnt tell you about it. But its more common than you think. Every abandoned vehicle both on WD detailing and sleeperdude has a mice/rat infestation. I Know WD detailing tried an ozone cleaner but it didnt hardly remove the smell. But this new thing they found works so much better. So check it out. I cant remember which car it was. I wanna say it was a 60s car its with in a few of the most recent videos they posted. Sleeperdude just pressure washed the inside of the car. Which is not what you want. Rodent urine is very acidic. Its known for taking paint or clear coat off. And it causes metals to rust. If you want to treat the wood underneath on smell kilz paint or primer seals the wood and blocks the smell. Plus it prevents future rot incase of spills. Im all for positivity. I want to help youtubers accomplish their goals. Dont be mad at the seller for his lack of reporting whats wrong with the vehicle. As long as it runs. The rest can be fixed. I think that is what you will expect with every rv you buy. No matter who or where you buy an rv if its used. Unless you buy it from a business. Just think positive thoughts. Be thankful that you bought one that runs and doesnt need alot of engine work. I believe you can make a neglected rv look beautiful for you and your daughter. Cant wait for the next video. 😊
This is a lot more work than you anticipated, but your a smart girl and this build will be the best! Can't wait to see the final outcome! You got this girl! 💪😉
I love your positive attitude! The world could use more people like you! Best of luck in your renovation, I hope you don’t have any more “surprises”! Looking forward to watching your progress and I’m sure it will turn out just lovely! 🙌🏼🥰
You are Amazing. I know it’s hard at this moment on what you are finding but you can do it I’ve seen your other builds. You will then have a beautiful home that is clean and safe . Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year From Angela in New Zealand 👍
Love all you guys do Jaylena. Merry Christmas to all on Wild Mountain and Happy New Year. Stay safe and I pray you have a better 2025. BTW, that green shirt when you started the new day is definately your colour with your hair as it is.
Go to hardware store and get a cleaner called TSP be sure to wear gloves and don’t pour your bucket of this stuff into any streams or down any drains. It has been outlawed in some states. Do to over growth of Algae in streams or rivers. If you can use it in your state. Dishwasher soap is good for cleaning .Pour some in a bucket like cascade. Wear rubber gloves.

My old RV experience...I bought a 1992 Toyota MH back in 2017.
You've got this & anything else that comes your way!💜🤗
And gloves
I don’t know how I’ve even survived over the past 50 years sleeping in our hunting camp 6 miles back in the woods😂
Would definitely recommend masking up until you have all the rat pee and poop removed and sterilized.
With the issues you have found it would be a good idea to check all the wiring in the van as mice love to chew.
Indeed they do!
That is a very good point. It could be why everything was disconnected and nothing worked properly.
Extremely impressed with the hard work and resiliency in getting this river fixed up.
I don’t think propane tanks are ever filled up all the way. I think space is left for expansion each time you fill. You fill to 80%.
Yes
That is true
Exactly
When correctly calibrated, the gauge will show 100% full when the tank is at 80% capacity.
You seem so dejected ! Sorry you are going through this 😮 but things will get better. Stay safe and resilient !!!
I hope you are doing this safely. We have had cases of hanta virus here from a mouse poop infested mobile home. Please take care!
I know you’re young, don’t take your back for granted ! Wearing a back brace will help you in the long run. You are doing an awesome job !! Merry Christmas from NC
Amen
I'm not surprised that it had mice. You will get everything cleaned up & safe and looking beautiful. Merry Christmas to you all ❤❤
Just GUT IT Jaylena 💪🏻
Total rehab job - you will not regret it. It will be exactly the way you want it and it will be clean. You and Ember deserve it 🥰
Yes, and we will all be here to cheer her on throughout the entire process!
Please wear a mask! Breathing in mouse droppings can lead to Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS), a serious and potentially deadly disease that affects the lungs. You are working so hard, you don’t want to get sick.
“Gutting” reduces resale value immensely. Not smart. Rehab, not gut.
Good video. It’s clear you’re disappointed and frustrated about the deal/unit you purchased. From my seat, it’s not bad at all. Take your time and build yourself a safe home that you can enjoy for a long time. Remember, good things happen to good people. This will all work out!
Good decision!! Scraping and/or vacuuming the poop is dangerous for your lungs. Be safe!
Propane tanks have to be certified every 10 years in Canada.
Replace it or have a propane company recertify it.
Safety is paramount.
Not RV tanks. They are in a different classification than upright cylinders.
Good to know, from the looks of that tank it absolutely needs to be refurbished.
Your putting so much work into this that I can’t wait to see the end result after it all done! You’re a go getter for sure! - Friend from Redmond.
🎉🎉🎉always does🎉🎉🎉
SUGGESTION....change every fluid and every filter in that rv engine and change every belt and get a tune up.That year Ford v10 destroys spark plugs.
Good Luck
Agree, it all needs to go!
I installed a webasto gasoline heater in my van. It pulls fuel directly out of the fuel tank. I eliminated all propane with lithium batteries/inverter and induction cooking. Just a thought. Enjoying your rebuild. Hang in there, you’ll get it done.
Hi from Sweden 🇸🇪 I’m impressed by your skills and work. Can’t wait to see the finished project.
Seconded! I have one in my van and would highly recommend! 👍👍👍
My long as advice didn't post 😢 I used
Be nice guys she’s got enough. She’s going through as is.! Celebrate with her as she gets it back to perfect or perfect the way she wants it let’s be kind!!😮❤❤
It’s going to be beautiful when she gets it completed !
I hope she remembers not to take people to heart and just smile at even the dumb/rude comments because they too are growing her channel 💪💪
for every gallon of LPG you burn it gives off a gallon of water, so, you are making moisture which will condense as water droplets or fogged windows in your walls, floors etc.
I know it will look awesome soon! Keep up the good work
I wish others wouldn't give you such a hard time about purchasing that rig.
You’re making it happen. One problem at a time. You should be proud of your self.
@@country-jewel I am proud of her and I do not even know her. She is kicking a$$.
@ yes I think so too. Most women and some men can’t do what she does. No one should be negative towards her. She’s a boss!!
Wow ... Your doing an Amazing job!! Like your hair look! Just keep your good attitude up! You've come a long way from 4-5 years ago!! GREAT JOB!!
Carpet on wheelwells us liked glued with contact cement. Try a heat gun to soften it.
You’ve got this ! x
Great work Jaylena. It’s hard work, and it will pay off. You got this.🎉🎉🎉
They have blades made specifically for carpets.
If you get them from the gas co. they are. not at the gas station though only half full. and if you fill them your self you have to bleed the value.
You are so courageous😊😊helps me to watch since i am having a similar project and helps me seeing someone else doing it and not giving up ❤
I love watching you restoring your coach. If the water was already hot you wouldn't need to heat it.😉
You got that right!
You rock knowing how to do all this work yourself! Solid inspiration. Kudos!! Keep up the good work. You got this!
Paint the wood floor with Kilz primer to seal the pest stink out.
It only works for a short period of time. Best and only way is complete removal
Spray with bleach water first, let dry then paint with Kilz.
Definitely rebuild…bleach floor then Kilz primer. A truck driver friend of mine almost died from respiratory disease because the cab/sleeper had rodent urine throughout. Dangerous stuff. 😷
She cracks me up I’m not buying it. Calculated risk she knew what she was getting into
Gloves Jaylena!
ooof, what a bummer! My camper also had a lot of mouse poop. It's so frustrating! You are so right tho, it will all be so, so worth it! 💛
Great advice.. but still the nasty little things will eat right through a wall. Not sure what they'll do with fiberglass though.🎉🎉🎉
I appreciate your tenacity. Thanks for sharing the journey.
Just a question. Did you call out the seller for the lies he told?
I’m so happy to see the final project completed. Love your videos. Keep going girl.
I hope this is your final restoration for a long while. I love watching your progress but know that you need something permanent and reliable. May all your changes be good ones for you and Ember.
Great job Jaylene , can wait to see the finished product 🤩
I'm a Roadtrek guy (older chevy) but also like the Chinook style. You will make it awesome. Keep up the good work!
Wow folks! You made it! Can’t wait for the next episode!
Painting the subfloor with some Kilz may help with the smell.
I'm learning a lot.Thank you sweetheart ❤
Try a multi tool with a scraper blade for the carpet removal, Crack the windows open when possible, I understand that it's cold out, but you need ventilation to allow for the smell fumes ext to get out, wear a mask when messing with the removal, it is totally necessary for your health, some gloves also, mice droppings can carry some nasty disease that you don't want, be safe , I'm enjoying watching the progress, thanks for sharing
Glad to see you wearing a mask and gloves. Keep it up. You are doing great.
🎉🎉🎉🎉yes for sure!😷
When done working on your RV for the day, leave the windows a little bit open so that you can have good ventilation over night.
You're a trooper, Jaylena, and have my full respect. Don't ever compromise or lose what you've got. Steady as she goes!😉
Lots of helpful comments girl you are doing an awesome job!
If you think the carpet is glue down, try using a heat gun to loosen up the glue.
The same company that makes diesel heaters makes a gas heater u can plumb into your existing car gas tank at above 1/4
I thought the same 🫶🏻
Tearing up a thick carpet takes a lot of strength... A habitat for bacteria, especially in a humid area / or 00
Hope y'all have a Merry Christmas and you are doing a fantastic job.
OMG, I’m sorry that you’re dealing with this. Please for you and your daughter’s health rebuild those seats. Get rid of it all. You’re an amazing woman. You got this.
rather than carpeting it again. I suggest pergo or some of the new waterproof tiles that snap together and look like wood.
Your doing a amazing job and don’t let anyone put you down and it’s going to look amazing when finished x
Whatever you build or create inside that space will be better than what was originally there. It will be beautiful and clean. Hang in there.
Im so excited for this build. Look forward to each video
Gas volume will change with the temperatures, they are never filled 100%.
Totally agree. Game changer for removing carpet🎉🎉
What to do next? Find out where and how the critters are getting in!! Most important!!
Yep that’s for sure.
Be careful & cautious.
What is waterproof? We just had flood in bathroom with luxury vinyl plank…… even had water under flood…had to tear it out
If you watch WD detailing.
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year
From Angela in New Zealand 👍
I keep wanting to go wash my hands!
😮
I would definitely get a good shower ASAP.
Hateful, unnecessary comments, block them!! You're learning as you go, continue the good, hard work. Blessings 💙
Love all you guys do Jaylena. Merry Christmas to all on Wild Mountain and Happy New Year. Stay safe and I pray you have a better 2025. BTW, that green shirt when you started the new day is definately your colour with your hair as it is.
C'mon bro
Go to hardware store and get a cleaner called TSP be sure to wear gloves and don’t pour your bucket of this stuff into any streams or down any drains. It has been outlawed in some states. Do to over growth of Algae in streams or rivers. If you can use it in your state. Dishwasher soap is good for cleaning .Pour some in a bucket like cascade. Wear rubber gloves.
You’re doing great it’s coming along great always be positive. You are a great person. A good worker a hard worker and it’s gonna be beautiful at the end when you’re done with your RV blessings to you and your family.
Hi mama. New subbie here. I feel your pain regarding getting the short part of the stick. I’m so sorry you had to go through this. It’s a learning lesson, and I’m learning from your experience. I want a RV one day. Even though this is pricy, I know the end result is going to be beautiful and comfortable to your liking. I love your video and your journey. Looking forward to see how creative you’re going to get with this restoration. Looking forward to the next video. 🙂
