Beautiful, season 5 had some of the best cinematic scenes in all of Peaky Blinders.
The scenes with him hallucinating Grace were amongst my top.
Yeah I enjoyed it. It's rare seeing a show stay consistently good. I thought season 5 was weaker than the others for certain reasons but still enjoyed it. My favorite scene from it is when he's talking to Polly and tells her "I'll do what I have to do Pol"
@@CalvinJames Oh yeah definitely, I feel like Tommy not succeeding in the end of the season has a huge part in that feeling of weakness. Also, the soundtrack wasn't as good as other seasons but, the cinematography was the best of all the seasons by a long shot.

I love Jessie Eden, I wish she had more screen time and became his main love interest
I like her too, but it's not necessary all the female characters become love interests

I liked her chemistry with Thomas. Grace was just really the true one for Thomas. Even in death she still is consuming his life. Would be hard for him to get past that and actually have another real love interest. I would much prefer her however over Lizzie.

The real Jessie Eden was indeed a member of the Communist party and a pioneering trade unionist. She was a tough woman and I have my doubts that she could have been seduced ( even by the likes of gorgeous Thomas Shelby) to compromise her principles to improve the terrible working conditions, particularly of women. Still, I'm grateful to Steven Knight for bringing these almost forgotten pioneers back to our attention.

@@marichristian1072 Could just as easily have been Mosley himself. If you take the premise that he was not working as an agent before he figured out Mosley was going to be hit, calling Mosley or one of his campaign staff with a tip is the first thing you would expect, and Mosley wasnt above hit jobs.

Season 5, I couldn't watch all the way through for months. The director is absolutely horrible.

There has been considerable negative feedback on Instagram over S5. Knight and Byrne are now claiming rewrites along with a promise of a new female lead to captivate Thomas. They should take this time to finish S7 & film back to back. For me, if Lizzie is still a Shelby, I am out. Most ridiculous waste of space in S5 was her. Had Knight not slacked her could have written Lizzie an epic Juliet moment over Angel. She stayed as filler adding nothing. Worse, taking away valuable screen time.
