How do you watch it
honestly after i watched the first episode i hated thyme, didn’t understand how she would ever be able to forgive him and was rooting for ren. but episodes later on, especially up to episode 5, i’m happy with how they have developed thymes character to the point that i’m rooting for him lol

This version is the best...they made all the necessary changes to suit the current situation and lessen bullying... Thyme is best .they made great changes 🙂👍

girls, you are entitled to your own opinion/reactions if they don't want to hear it then they can click on the next video. Just be yourselves. I think that's the intention of the drama, to make us hate Thyme and of course to make us see his character arc after.
I did fell in love with Ren first which I didn't expect. I don't know there is something about him that I didn't see in the other versions of F4.
I watched all the F4 versions and so far they haven't disappointed me yet. Not because of the actors (that's always secondary for me) but by how the story progress.
I would have thought that us being allowed to have different opinions is very obvious but in our reaction video for the trailer we got some really negative comments so we thought we'd specify this. Because apparently some people don't understand... 😭 we're definitely going to be honest and ourselves though, that's the whole point of our channel 😁
And wow Ren... I didn't think I'd fall this fast but he really is so sweet 🥺

I think you guys are going to love this series because there is A LOT of character development and deep dives into Thyme's character . This show is my favourite between all of them because the story telling and the arcs of the characters are really well done.
We watched two episodes so far and I'm interested in seeing how he will learn from his mistakes. In the other shows/versions the main mead just looked arrogant and mean, Thyme looks a bit more like a spoiled brat so I'm hoping there's room for proper development :)
I'm curious and will definitely continue watching! Everyone so far has said that there will be some development so I really wanna see that!! 😁

@@salomepelin4033 Yeah I know what you mean! I think what i like about the Thai version is how they properly dive into characters. By episode 5 you should see a lot of development from the character :)
I love the Taiwanese and Thai versions the most. For Thai ver., I already watched ep.5 and the story was adjusted all details to suit the situation in 2021-22. This serie will mix your emotions like roller-coaster along each episode. You'll see how Thyme changed to be a better person. Can't wait to see more your reaction! ;)
All our commentors having been saying that we'll see Thyme's character really developing so I'm starting to have high hopes haha! I'll look forward to it

Fun Fact: This F4 series have 5 Versions. Taiwan(2001), Japan(2006), South Korea(2009), China(2018) and Thailand (2021). Some part of the series are the same and each version made a different outcome. Which is good. I can't lie Thailand did an Amazing job remaking this. Each version is getting better and better. But the longest story line is the Taiwan.

I binged watched this show and by far I can say this is the best version so far in terms of storyline, acting and character developments from everyone actually having lines and somewhat of a backstory with good explanation like in the other ones I felt that they skipped a lot of important storylines along with only the main couple having lines etc. This one is so much fairer also a lot more relatable probably because they adapted it to fit the modern age, I hope they don't disappoint with the rest of the show, can't wait for your reactions.

And just a detail I think you guys missed is the fact when Thyme is beating the guys on the poll, it's because he is pissed off at those jerks for trying sexually assault Gorya. Even he has limits and got uncomfortable with this. Well, that's what happens when he decides be an idiot giving a girl a red card. He can't predict what those other morons would do, just because certain he wouldn't never. People can be dangerous in many forms. For each act has consequences.
Anger issues. Yeah. Spot on. You've made a point. This is the first version to actually mention Thyme having ICD, you will see a self aware moment in next episodes. Unfortunately I don't know if they will even mention again, hence mental issues are still considered kind of taboos in Thailand. But I loved how they actually did at least once. And it's def connected with the environment he was raised. Boy has issues that's for sure.
I just thought it was interesting to mention since you obviously noticed his behavior :)
So yeah. Def NOT being apologetic to the bullying. It's awful and no wonder not only him even if specially him, but all 4 complacent with it, will suffer the consequences of it later on. Deserved.

I agree that he "punishes" them for trying to assault Gorya. I'm glad to see that he knows that what he did was wrong and that even though he didn't know what would happen, he was the one who instigated it. He should still take responsibility. Good that he has at least this limit (which is a very low bar to set but oh well...)
The thing is, I don't think he should make a difference between girls and boys. Assaulting is boy is just as grave and disgusting and terrible as assaulting a girl. Him realizing how stupid and cruel he is just because she's a girl... is a bit weird to me. I hope he realizes that doing that to ANYONE (independent of their gender) is horrible. The boys might not have been sexually assaulted (we don't know if they were) but we definitely saw them getting physically assaulted and we know they all were traumatized so bad to the point that they were forced to quit school. I hope that Thyme learns what he did was bad not only in the case of Gorya because she is a girl, but also in all other cases.
I haven't seen the part about Thyme's ICD yet but I'm glad that they do mention it. Like you said, it's a taboo, so it would be great if they use this platform to raise awareness about it. I'm curious to see how he will handle it in the future!
And like you wrote, definitely deserved! They need to take responsibility. I'm really looking forward to how they will make that happen!

8:29 really nice observation!!! it's exactly that : in the original story if I remember correctly the F4 are just bullies (all of them even Ren bc he doesn't really try to stop his friends) acting like that for personal reasons (all of them grew up in very peculiar households even tho Thyme's is the main focus bc he's the leader)... but in this version they added a layer to it, putting the emphasis on how F4 (mostly Thyme bc of his mother) is supposed to control the school by giving the masses (all those dumb students bulling or cheering) a way to 'relieve stress' like the gladiator system in ancient Roma, basically giving the masses distraction and fake power to control them better : they give them power over someone else's life, like the thumb up or down to finish up the looser in ancient Roman arenas ...
You can see that even with Gorya in the beginning Thyme doesn't really take the red card thing personally, no personal grudge or smth, it's just a way to show his authority and control over the school ... (9:50) it's actually Politics 101 highschool level class by Thyme's mother😅😌 she's grooming him to be a ruthless leader (First's character is like a revolutionary trying a coup d'état and failing bc he lacks the means and the government is controlling information so it doesn't leak)

so even tho it seems like Thyme is controlling everything he is himself being controlled bc if he doesn't continue the F4 supremacy plan😅 he will have issues with his mom and at the beginning of the story he doesn't yet have the motivation to escape, even tho he's not happy doing it he accepts his fate and plays the part
...but they also kept the personal level : Thyme having big anger issues and becoming violent every time his ego is touched or when he's overwhelmed by a situation he can't control .... bc his nature is actually not insensitive but his mom's expectations since childhood put heavy pressure on him, so it collides and creates this perpetual anger and anxiety... but also he never really needed to mind other people's feelings bc everything will go his way so his encounter with Gorya's character is really disturbing for him and will change his perception of the world in many ways (like it was said in introduction of the episode^^ scriptwriter is actually really clever)
Bright's portrayal of Thyme with all this in mind is actually super good I want to hear an interview from him about his character
Ren or Gorya in the beginning even tho they hate the bullying system are guilty bystanders disgusted by themselves bc they think they can't change anything, lack the courage to do what this guy is doing bc they still care for their personal safety 27:05 exactly!

The original story has definitely depth and is showing many societal problems but I wanna mention one in particular : the fact that we, as a whole, are most inclined to turn a blind eye to bully or wrong behavior if the perpetuator is good looking, like those silly girls cheering for F4, irl the people who find justification for F4's bullying bc the cast is good looking (yes I'm talking about you!😠 just kidding but it's a fact😌) their behavior can be explained but it is not ok ... in politics or entertainment world or just normal life so many good looking people get away with crimes bc of their looks
- I think it's good they added that extra layer to the bullying. At least in this version we can see it (the bullying) is not because of some cruel, sadistic pleasure but actually because that is how he/they were raised. It leaves room for character development (if well executed). Also I didn't connect it with the Roman gladiator system, but now that you write it seems so fitting!! It's really all just a sick power play, and it honestly seems more like a self boost to Thyme's ego (because he gets his mother's approval through it) than, like you also wrote, something personal.
Even though I don't like Thyme's character so far, I find it admirable that in this version they made this character 3 dimensional and understandable to some degree. I don't agree with his actions, but for once I can actually see where he's coming from. I think this makes the issue much more complex, and I really hope they don't just brush it over but will take the time to make him heal from those wounds and learn to be and do better (not just for ~love~).
- I watched their Episode 0 but unfortunately they didn't go too much into detail when it comes to character analysis.. hopefully we'll hear more about that in future interviews/bts/specials!

Can't wait to see you guys watch the rest, i think there's an specific way that Hana Yori Dango (that originated F4) turns the story around that it's so fun to watch. i think the most famous remake (Boys Over Flowers) doesn't translate the main character well, while this one (along with the Japanese, and in my opinion, also the Chinese remake) are way better... It's just a matter of patience because the story plays a lot with perception, i guess it's like we ~are Gorya seeing Thyme (and Ren) and we see each side at a time, which is very interesting.
(Ofc you guys may always dislike Thyme, which is fine too. Just have fun watching f4 really ☺️)
As a side note: on that scene in the pool Thyme was angry at those guys because they almost ab*sed Gorya (like i get it's terrible anyway but I feel many ppl miss why he was mad at that scene specifically)

I actually can't believe they chose this drama to do in Thai... we have Japanese, Taiwanese, Chinese, and South Korean adaptations or versions of the same story.
I will not judge so soon. I am hoping that they do something nice here. I know that the SK Boys Over Flowers is iconic because it's one of the first kdramas people watch so they can't let go of their first love. But I just want to know WHY there are so many versions of the same story. Like it's fun to experience that world where things are so dramatic but also simple. I don't dislike the story, it's just not something I watch more than once? It's like the all the Cinderella movies out there (really like 'Not Cinderella's Type' tho).
I will hope that this adaptation is different somehow. If not, I will still watch your reactions because we share the same sense of humour.
But if they somehow do, kudos to the actors and everyone involved for making a story told too many times still entertaining.

Yes I agree... this story has been overdone. Then again, I've never bern much of a fan anyways, I guess hardcore fans would be much happier about it. It feels like they're milking this franchise to the max but like you said, I hope they'll introduce some changes to the characters and plotline to make this stand out more and not just be a repetition of the previous works. I'm looking forward to seeing how/whether they will succeed in making this more special. Given the budget invested in this I'm going to try and trust the production team. I'll watch a few episodes and then see!

I m curious which versions you two watch all of them or just one??! cause there are several ones some are remak some are official adaptation some not official ones...like some follow closely original popular manga story 1992 but other made change like : taiwan version metor garden .2001 or metor garden 2018...boy over flowers 2009.. there was Chinese meteor shower .. Indonesian "
siapa takut jatuh cintac(2002; 2017)... American ones boy over friends (2013..but I think this one got cancelled )..it important to know that this Thailand version is not really as Korean ver but it's adaption from manga and from Japanese version S1 2005 S2 2007 and movie 2008 which is my fav version from all past one .. although this new Thai ver is getting my attention more with each ep cause I feel the différents character layers emotions and can see being of growth . self reflection of ml .. and l like the female character which seem strong ...
-l also have some hate love relationship with the original story because of how they mange to treat the bully issu and redemption arc especially for all new version that come after 2010 ..I know it not especially drama about social problems or subject of bully. It just love romance friendship type of drama still for me if you gone make some remak then it important to make it with better message even it's just fiction .in final even if l m not big fan of story I always get curious how each versions gone handel this popular story .in my opinion this f4 Thailand are doing great so far ..
-also it ok you can say your pov honestly this way reaction , reviews are made for everyone one is entitled to his opinion. ..I don't think anyone will defend bullying or some trash behaviour like thyme or F4 are doing right here in first episodes . ..I have just requeste for you girls please if it possible when you talk or want to comment on certain scene pause .. cause some time you miss dialogues lines that can be important key to understand the character and thier future development ...
For me, i think i watched all of them except for Indonesian and American but it was a long time ago... so i dont remember them all very very well!
I really hope this version improves on a lot of things because some versions had serious issues which made me wonder why anyone would forgive the bullying as it was rather justified... i remember i liked the Meteor Garden 2018 more because i think it had good changes.
We have had some people trashing us because we were apparently "hating on" the actors so we wanted to put a disclaimer just in case!
We want to stop too but since we sync and watch it is so hard for us to stop at the same time, but we will try to find alternative ways of doing it, thank you!

can you guys please react to the series u r always talking not watching important scenes
you guys spoke my mind!!! there's no proper redemption for thyme as an individual. people love ren mostly because he helps gorya out of the kindness of his heart (he doesn't even like her like that here) while thyme would help her because he LIKES her which are two separate things. stopping the bullying just because you fell in love with the said person you were bullying is bargaining of sorts.
that's why ren is more reliable because he's kind and extends his mercy to everyone around him. no wonder he's gorya's safe place and rengorya are soulmates any day. I can see why people ship thyme with gorya after ep 5 but honestly I don't buy it. after all he's put her and the other people through, lending your kindness towards one person doesn't make up for it.
as for ren not standing up to the bullying, I can assure you, all the other three except thyme are tired of it, ren is just more obvious in his dislike but unless they want to get kicked out of f4 and become the subject of bullying themselves, they don't go too far.
What you said about thyme kicking the other 3 out of f4, i don't think i can agree on that tbh.
I feel like friendship is very important to thyme, and they've been friends since childhood so for him to just casually do that? Nah
To me, the notion of redemption is simply a personal conversion and desire to do better as a person. That may not mean that other people will accept or forgive you like you never had a past, but that you're life will be different now because of you, so I believe that anyone can be redeemed.
I completely agree with what you wrote! You can see Ren is helping out of the kindness of his heart, and Thyme... well Thyme is helping her because she is a girl? because he likes her? Idk, it just doesn't sit right with me.
I really hope that Ren and Gorya will become close friends (I think we can all agree that we know they unfortunately won't have a romantic happy ending.... TT) and that they will support each other along the way.
I've seen several people say that we would like Thyme more after EP5 but honestly, I don't know what will happen but I need him to take responsibility for all the pain he caused.

@@salomepelin4033 exactly like I'm so over the 'oh he's changed because he's in love' notion and it's not even an enemies to lovers trope, dude just straight up DECIDED to make her life a living hell for no reason???? I don't think I can ever see thyme in a favourable light. though, rest assured, he's the most mellowed down version from the previous f4 leads (atleast for now). compared to the other leads, thyme is more of a.... spoiled brat than anything else??? you'll see what I'm talking about. the director has clearly left room for a redemption arc which kinda starts from ep 5, hence, the uproar so there's that. though if you ask me, it's hard seeing thyme, knowing how bullying literally ruins people's lives, it's kinda hard to forgive him, you know? and I don't wanna support the romanticism that comes with it. though, funnily enough, I started it for bright but eventually fell in love and stayed for dew (ren) too, he's everything.

1) I can't justify their violence even if a guy has a serious problem with his mother and pressure from society - this does not justify their company AT ALL((

1) Thyme says something about having Impulse Control Issues, and that he can't work on his Impulse in ep5, which can be lead to the Impulse Control Disorder. I think that's what exactly made him that way, being aggressive, nonsense and all along with the pressure. The guy's ill and nobody seems to see that...

2) btw you shouldn't be embarrassed for an actor acting. It's part of their career, every of them know what they're doing. It's not like the character is their real self, good or bad u don't need to feel embarrassed👍
