This series has so many version and I watch them all even the animie, if I'm not mistaken the korean version is the one of the most successful kdrama , it's this show(f4) that the kdram been all known in the world. But the very first version is the taiwan, and the japan has its movie and a proper ending I mean they get meried ,
Bright totally nailed it. We all know how loving he is in real life but in this series, he's totally a different person!!! Hate him or love him.. he's really good! Tu is just the best Gorya for the role!🤩🤩🤩

F4 is super popular in Asia. I first watched F4 Taiwan way back 2001 so I already know about the bullying but Thai version is really really good.
I like mommy's opinion that she would change the school for her daughter if she isn't okay. But the most asian parents design and write their children's paths for them. Put their dreams and expectations on kids' shoulders 🥲

To be fair. This version it's was darker that the other ones. So I'm dying to know how they going to redeem Thyme's character in so little time
I have seen a lot versions of F4, my first impression of this one is that I like the colors visually, like the cinematography. The family dynamic is so cute and what Thyme said about anonymous bullying wow, there is a sprinkle of truth.
I super like the first ep. I can feel the tension, the hate, and anger, in the characters. Also, the scene of Gorya with family (shoes) made me cry.
Being an F4 fan (since the Taiwanese version; and yes, I've watched the Japanese and Chinese mainland version), the F4 Thailand version is awesome!

Thyme could be considered to be the mildest but much more calculating out of all ver. He brake First’s fall and even go into the water 😂
16 episodes in this season! Thyme does have a big redemption story and the guys will grow on you. Gorya really brings out the best in them.. eventually. I also can't wait for you to meet Thyme's older sister!
I think my 2nd lead syndrome started with F4, having to watch all the versions. I just think all 2nd lead version deserved her, from all the versions I always thought the lead is just so lucky she loves him.

This ver is similar to japanese HANA YORI DANGO one and im really impressed by it. the Thyme (leader of F4) character got pressured and took care of in his mothers way which led him to be this but he isnt truly like that he is just a kid with a scars and loneliness in him u will find out soon dont worry its normal for F4 series to have the lead to be hated and the 2nd lead to be loved but u will find out more just dont want to spoil.
And after finishing the series, if anyone hates Thyme, i'd like to meet them 😂

the taiwanese version was so popular here in asia even before i was born that's why im able to watch all the versions of different countries lmao but even though i already know where the story eill go, their acting skills (especially the girl who plays gorya) were superb! im very ready for the next ep
Have watched 3 version of this adaptions. The originality coming from Hana Yori Dango (Japanese manga) and its got huge fame through Meteor Garden Taiwan (2001). This version are the starting point that make Asian keep making remakes. Even this F4 boys from this version make a legit boyband and did many concert through Asian countries. That's how big it is. Another turning point is Boy Over Flower (Korean,2009) which creating kdrama fever. I'm sure many kdrama fans start from this drama. Honestly Korean ver definitely the most toxic one. I wonder how I went through watching it, might be I'm too young that time because I really couldn't re-watch now :/ but it's still one of legendary Korean drama. Another popular remake is Japanese version. It's got popular also and it's one of my favorite adaptation among all because they stick with original manga plots and it's less toxic than others. The chemistry definitely the best than other version. Last but not least, MG2018 which i love it also but the number of ep terrifying me but it's could be advantage as we could see very good and more detailed of F4 boys character development.
This Thai version honestly soo good. I've big expectations actually and it's honestly reach mine. Hope it's keep good like this. Actually I hope you watch 'F4Thailand begin' ( on gmm channel) as maybe you could know more in details how they create F4 and each characters explanation. The school violence is more intense than it was for the K drama version & the chinese adaptation combined
the china 2018 was way more intense since the male lead literally hit her with a bag like full force on her face =O

@@waeeeezeeeee That scene you are talking about was violent & disrespectful, but that isn't school violence(as it wasn't on school grounds). Most of the stuff that happened in Meteor Garden 2018 was petty pranks & humiliation out of immaturity. The most violent act between the two Meter Garden 2018 leads was on the school roof when she nearly got punched.
have watched all versions and the chinese one was the less violence out of all tbh, they couldn't even show too much wealthiness in that version (F4 boys even shown to actually study, in the class with other kids. no other versions did this)
In Thailand power and money can buy anything. The rich or high-class parents can hide everything wrong that their son do. F4 Thailand is social satired many issues in Thailand, this version also different from another version because they try not to romanticize the male lead's acts such as a bully or his violence. Not to know it's would be all good until the end but so expected
And thyme cant know better cuz he have grown up in a "small world "which his mom have created and always saying/teaching things that r not right to him the reason we know better is because we r not in his position we cant really blame him fully we r thought correct unlike him (aint saying what he did was right but just tranna make u understand the root of it)

The story of "Boys Over Flower" or Hana Yori Dango is popular all over Asia. I remember watching the first version (Taiwanese) when I was 6 years old (2001) hahaha.
Anyways, I already know the story because Ive seen all the versions of this story but I would love to see how Thailand tackled this. I think this is the first Southeast Asian adaptation, and as someone from SEA, Id love to see how they adapted it based on their culture (because personally, we cant really relate that much in east asian culture/adaptation). And I think we could relate more to the Thai version.
Anyways, cant wait to see how the series progress.

@@sagi4268 yes the mangga is the original but in terms of the live action series, Meteor Garden came first before the Japanese version.
Your right the other version of this the girls I can't really relate to them but this version I can relate more like when your angry ,and crying at the same time, imagine your a 5ft and 2in and your fighting a male who is 6ft tall and you're so angry, I can see my self on that girl.

I like the mood of this intense and seriously 'cos bully is not a funny thing. It should be serious and many people who watch this series can realize it now. Im not okay if the director present this in a comedy way. The director and the crew did their homework pretty well 👍

I have watched korean and thaiwanese versions before. But this version seems more realistic and believable. Though I enjoyed watching the Korean version, it doesn't seem realistic. It is just like watching a fantasy. But, F4 thailand depict the characters in a very raw version, which I love. And I like how they addressed the red card thing and bullying. It can't be seen in any other version.
Let's see how the future episodes are going to be.

About the family and social pressure being on top, it's different in every culture and I can tell you that in Asian culture it's difficult. You were talking on different pov so I can understand where you're coming from.

And I also love listening to your mum. She spoke wisdom which I believe she learned from life experiences. And I agree sometimes you needed someone else to straighten you up. It's sometimes hard to see your flaws esp if it's the norm that you grew up with.
I'm glad to see you and your mom's reaction on this series. It looks promising. It gives me the vibe of the original Taiwanese version but at the same time it gives me a new vibe in a Thai setting. By the way, The Taiwanese version (1st version) is best for me but this Thai version is becoming one of the best version for me.

Thanks for great review and I enjoyed watching your reactions. It's nice to just see something do a full run thru with the and not pause it to make comments as many reviewer do. I VERY much prefer your reviewing style.
I have a suggestion.
I've had opportunity to see ( well made it a point of seeking them out) the different renditions of BOF - and there's about four others if memory serves me right.
I've been looking forward to this one being released with great enthusiasm as Thai writers, have a way about them when it comes to writing a series that I love. I am thus far not disappointed, and the actors they've used I feel are MUCH more of heart throbs that some of the prior renditions. You know your going in for a good ride when each of them are so breathtakingly beautiful, and such great actors. I feel the female lead is being portrayed wonderfully as well.
From what I've seen thus far, This version Keeps to many of the facts of the original series, BUT the writers have taken a *lot* of artistic license in comparison to the previous remakes and original. Even if its just the short clips you review, it's well worth your while to check out the first BOF with Lee Min Ho, and Kim Hyun Joon. Meteor Garden is also a great version of the BOF which was very enjoyable. They even carried over one of the actors from the original which provided a nice familiarity. I think you'd enjoy being able to note the differences during your reviews if you are going to review the full series with your channel. You'll be able to determine if you feel the differences between them make or detract from the original writers vision of the series.
I personally feel that right out the gate, the writers have made the female lead much more mature than the original series ( which is not a bad idea at all as it allows us to start feeling a depth to the series MUCH sooner than you will with the original and the other remakes. Right from the very start of this series, I knew I was in for a *very* different experience from the other versions. There are MANY differences. The script writers have stuck loosely to the original concept, but otherwise, have taken the series down some very obvious different paths. ( Thus my prior recommendation to compare view and compare. I really think you'd get something out of the experience.)
One thing I will say and I am sure that anyone whose enjoyed any of the previous BOF series will agree with me. You may think that this starts off intense, but the tension only builds throughout the series. The twist and turns they'll bend your stomach into will be many, but its worth the ride that's for sure.

You better watch the other versions.. since the story changes a bit thru different times and culture as well. Highly recommend watching the TAIWANESE (Meteor Garden - the OG) and KOREAN (Boys Over Flowers) versions. This story is a global phenomenon that's why there are diff versions.
This is so funny. I love BrightWin but the whole episode I curse Thyme and other boys like you all do. But I'm sure at the end, you gonna fall in love with Thyme and feel so bad for him like I did before when I read the F4 in the japanese comic book. :)

I watched this episode when it first aired. I love it so far. I like the correlation and differences from the previous versions so far;- which I recommend you watch if you haven't already when you can find time to. The actress playing Gorya is on point as well as Bright and the others.

Javi, we all know you don't like spoilers, so I will just share this. I have seen the original Japanese version, the Korean version and the Chinese version of F4, and the bullying is quite extensive. The Korean version in my opinion bordered on criminal verbal and physical abuse. When it was filmed years ago, no one in the film industry considered bulllying a violent act. So, hold on because this is going to be a bumpy ride, if Thailand's version copies all the previous ones.

I am actually in love with Ren
I've only watched the Chinese version (hated tbh) but I did appreciated that Ren's character (Lei's character in the Chinese version) is in the autism spectrum and I've heard rumurs that the Thai version will dive into it more than the other ones.
I don't know how they are goin to do in 16 eps what the Chinese version couldn't in 49, but I do hope they do it better

I have watched all the versions, and the first F4 cards we were introduced to, they were not on the scene to bully the victims. I hate them more for being on the scene. The other versions they were never on the scene of the bullying, they only stay in their private room and watch or get feedbacks from the ones who do their deeds. Not that it justifies their character but I prefer them not being there than be there, even have seat, throw punches, damn that water is dirty.
The Japanese Hana Yori Dabgo is my fave. I am more excited about Ren the SML; just like in the other versions (I liked the SML)but still hoped the ML gets the girl. And I am happy he left like always.

So the boys over flowers that I saw was the 2009 one, and it's very similar to this one, after a couple of episodes I got bored and stop watching, the girl that played it was little to animated, she reminded me of this Mexican show called LA India Maria, cuz she was animated like her 😂, I might continue watching this one cuz the girl is not so extra
