That's not true. LTT is such a HUGE influence in the tech market. They're realistic, and all companies know what they get into when they send something to Linus. Gotta be honest. I use coolermaster, (their tesseract case is amazing. Like wtf I legit thought it may be a scam but nope my hard drive is louder than the fans)
And when I saw this on their page I was pretty sceptical. This is a company that gas 30 dollar membrane keyboards with nothing special to their 180 dollar titanium keyboard series with cherry-mx magnetic wrist-rest rgb animated backlighting which can be edited with LUA script, macro keys and much more.
They should hype up their new low profile MK more

It sounds pretty close, I would go more with feel. Coolermaster did much better job with MasterKeys Lite where they went with MX Brown emulation. I went with that as my spare, I don't particulary like MX Blues (I have HyperX keyboard with them but I use it very lightly), I am Romer-G and MX Browns fan, so this was much closer to home for me.

@Fiton yes thats different instead of the rubber dome making up the sensing mechanism, the rubber dome only acts as a sort of barrier and provides no function to the k68. f you removed the rubber dome, the switch still works. That isn't an exception because the switches, the part that tells the keyboard you've pressed something, is not the rubber dome. Its the reds

got a km780 for about 60 or 65 on sale because i wanted the media buttons and after cutting/sanding the little plastic wings on the side it's a really nice kb, legit MX blues too.
it also taught me exactly how big is too big for a keyboard so that's nice lol.

Why even do this when there are very low cost (like under $30.00) REAL mechanical keyboards out there, some with very good switches like Outemu....it's simply a waste of time doing it at all. Cooler Master is simply using their name to sell crap, and that cheapens the companies reputation instead of making it stronger......

Yeah, I bought a Velocifire TKL wireless mechanical keyboard for $40. It's barebones, but it gets the job done and doesn't feel bad or fake while using it. Honestly, for the $100 or more you'd pay for a top-of-the-line keyboard, you'd only *really* get some macro keys, possibly dedicated media keys instead of Fn ones, and backlit RGB. Oh, and the "genuine" Cherry MX, which isn't 3x better than the Outemu switches anyway.

Seon-Ho You can also get an Anne Pro. Pretty high tier keyboard IMO, and excellently priced especially for the features it packs. $60 for Gateron Blues, full individual RGB, USB or wireless operation (Battery only lasts about two hours with lights on, significantly longer without), and software to control mentioned LEDs as well as change the layout or set macros. 60% form factor, but that's not a massive issue, as virtually all functions can still be used if you hold a modifier key. Build is pretty solid too.
I got a logitech with browns and white backlights for 44 € ... Still a Lot of room to get a decent mouse too.
I have a KB-9910 and I love it. It's solid and the wire comes loose now and then but I can't stand not using it. I have big hands and the keys are the right size, the right spacing and everything. Most keyboards I am always hitting the wrong keys.

Nope, you clearly have comprehension issues. The takeaway is that it is not indistinguishable from a mechanical keyboard to that one guy who is clearly a keyboard snob. I have used mechanical keyboards myself but I would rather have the basic one I can spill coffee on and not destroy over one that costs 10-20x the cost.
A Kalia from hearing both, you can clearly tell one features blues and one features shitty membranes. You can find imitation cherry mk’s on amazon for $20 that are waterproof. he’s not being a snob here (even though he is), the keyboard just plain sucks lol

For me most important feature of an mechanical keyboard is not needing to press keys all the way down to register a key press. Unfortunately they didn't answer this in the video, but this keyboard is basically combining noisiness of an mechanical with key feel of membrane which are for me their worst features

Nah the bottom end is total rubber. Not an ounce of hard plastic hitting the backboard. You can't get a cherry mx keyboard that rubbery even if you tried with the thickest o ring.

Shit I bought the red dragon mechanical keyboard for 39 bucks I believe? its amazing. I've dropped it, hit it in my rage, and its even survived my angry masturbation sessions. Overall its a great buy!

I just bought a rosewill mechanical keyboard for $40 off newegg.. It feels pretty damn good for $40 (way better than any membrane ever will). It's a backup that I'm gonna use if I ever want less clicky switches so I don't bother anyone. I had no real need for it, but at $40 Idc and I wanted to try brown switches /shrug
You can get a rosewill mechanical board off eBay for literally $35 lmaoo. Still in box as well..

I don't know. I have four mechanical keyboards (two blue, one green, one purple) and I actually really like the Ornata's feel.
But the Ornata Chroma probably feels better.
I actually do think the Ornata feels better, in some ways, than greens/blues. It has a ton of tactile feedback. But mechanical keys are longer lasting and more consistent across the entire board. There's usually one or two keys in an Ornata that have appreciably less feedback than the others.
elenchus I think the Ornata feels really good. Other mechanical keyboards I tried before getting an Ornata didn't feel as good to me and that's what the guy at best buy recommended if I like a more clicky feel.
if you like the Ornata, you should try Greens/Blues/Purples, which the Ornata is imitating. But I agree, it's a great keyboard, especially for the price. I bought it three times lol.
I'd rather be typing on an Ornata than a mechanical Red or Yellow (or speed or silent).

We made a new better keyboard even cheaper using rubber dome switches with mechanical pistons! (not mentioning the technology has been around since the late 80s / early 90s.)

You guys (except Apathy) need to go watch the computex 2018 coverage. Cooler master has launched, together with cherry mx, cherry mx's new low profile switches to compete with kaihl and tesoro low profile key caps.
That said, they would still make a laptop ridiculously thick. And there have been cherry mx laptops. MSI Titan and that Acer X21

Apathy OSU yeah. I agree. The only downside I see, is that many companies that jump on the hype train to start making their own versions of something, they might lose their identity and faulter in quality. The most important aspect of cherry switches is the feel. So if I would get a low profile switch from them I kinda expect a certain feel. Now, I have obviously not tried the new switches so for now I will give them my benefit of doubts. Perhaps they nailed it, or perhaps they just had to make something to compete which is really bad and non-coherent with the rest of the brand.
I personally cant stand kaihl switches. Tried a few razer keyboards, both green and orange, and my God they feel bad. That was a few years back, so they might have changed the design, but back then, Razer was far from my cherry mx brown. Logitech's omron switches are okay. Have never tried Tesoro.
Apathy OSU definitely not a bad idea. I wish other brands would take after Drevo's designs. I would really like to get tye Joyuse, but they only make it with US layout only... :/
There are laptops with mech switches. They are a bit high end though, and weigh 20 lbs... but they exist. Like Acer Predator 21X
hmm yeah no for $75 you can get a MSI Clutch GM40 mouse (PMW 3310 sensor) and a Redragon K552 Kumara RGB keyboard (actual good MX Blue ripoff, fully mechanical).
I can vouch for the keyboard, I have the RGB version if I’m correct. It really does feel like mx blue switches.

Yea I got to try it at a friend's house and it feels like a mix like the MX blues and MX greens. More leaning to the blues. Overall great build quality for the price.

There are multiple versions, one with just red backlighting for $30 and one with RGB for $40.
smoked_out I can vouch as well I got the red back lit version and the clicks feel and are amazing and make the click clack sound everyone wants

You should compare this with the Razer Ornata (it has mecha membrane keys)
Personally I don't mind my mem-chanical keyboard (Coolermaster Storm Bundle). It's nothing like a mechanical (And i KNOW that), but it's miles more tactile than a membrane tbh, and it's still pretty quiet. Also, it was super cheap!

It might just be how I type but i did't notice the bottoming out sponginess until i saw the video and tried to actually feel around for it.
Tbh the mouse in mine was terrible though, and i had a replacement which over only a few months was just as faulty as the first.
LaBombaRomba - Gaming, Tech and more! Buy a logitech g502 or g900 if you have more money (the buttons are extremely well place to allow you anything you set them to do without effort) and it has 3 side vuttons instead of 2
Segalle gameplay I've already replaced the mouse with a totally different one. It's a no-name brand, but i've had good experiences with no-name branded mice before, and took the plunge anyway (Also it was urgent).
For the side buttons, personally I find 2 to be enough and I don't make much use of them outside of FPS games or browsing. Compared to the g502 or g900, it's only small fraction of the price of those, and the only issue i've had with it (other than grip, which was an easy fix) is the high lift-off, but that's it.
Besides, I find it hard to justify spending more than 25ish AUD on a mouse when that money could be used on a new gpu, cpu, etc. (Or really anything that will actually make gaming more fun like, for example, a good FFB wheel/pedal setup).
If I sound kinda rude, please don't be offended :P. I just don't understand things like paying 80+ AUD on a mouse. I'm just really frugal, i guess.

The mouse i had was really bad so i looked for the best cheapest top of the line option and i do make use of all the buttons apart from the dpi one next to infinite scroll(set as previous track) and compared to my friends $20 mouse i can easily see the difference in both performance and looks. I also used to play racing games (i have a g29 as my wheel) but don't really use it anymore so ill probably sell it and get a little more money for pc upgrades
