I have both and give the edge to the Skyward. They’re funner to run in IMO. Neo Vista feels like a plated Nimbus, which I don’t really enjoy running in.
If you like a firmer ride, but still plush, Skyward X. If you like more of that mushy feel, Neo Vista.

Really like your videos 👍 I’m a regular to many of the “big” shoetubers and your content is up there with the best.

I bought the Neo Vista as a protective shoe with a little ability to pick up the pace and it's definitely delivering on that. I'm a lighter runner with a more shuffling foot strike so I don't put a lot of force into the ground but I feel the softness and bounce off the Neo Vista. I think it is a good idea to think about our size and running mechanics when choosing a shoe as there is not a "best" shoe but more the "best" for each person.

Great review and pretty close to what i felt. I much prefer the upper on the neo and the fit as well. Skyward x is heavier and it was giving me some hot spots on longer runs. However I'm 175lbs and found it to be plush and responsive so i guess i fall into heavier category. The vista feels a bit more versatile and even more plush

I have both and can only pretty much agree with the video. I am a heavy runner (210 pounds) maybe that's why a slightly prefer the Hoka. Neo Vista is super fun, while the Skyward soaks the miles in and is like the NB SC trainer v1 on steroids.

Nice work on the Reb 2 purchase. I'm interested to see how you find them in comparison to the V1.

I have both coming even though I really don't need any more max stack shoes, but I love them and couldn't resist the curiosity about these two shoes so both will arrive next week. 😂 And after these, I'll get the Superblast 2 and the upcoming Puma MagMax Nitro. Can't have enough of these. Haha. Recently got the More v5 and it's really nice for slow recovery runs. I'll get back to this shootout after my tests with these two shoes. Being a light runner and a big Prime X Strung v1 fan, I have a feeling I'll like the Neo Vista more, but they also seem quite different from each other although they are in the max-stack category.
Many people seem to love the Skyward X (light runners as well) and the thought of 43mm forefoot stack height is very intriguing as I care about the stack height there than the heel in maximalist shoes. The overall consensus seems to be the Neo Vista in these Skyward X vs. Neo Vista shootout videos, but one never knows until you try 'em both and that's what I'm going to do. I have a feeling I'll like both for different types of runs and likely prefer the Neo Vista if I had to choose one. We shall see! Keep up the great work!

@@run-are Thanks for the reply. I really enjoy your content. It's straight to the point and I've found that your preferences and thoughts about shoes are very similar to mine. As mentioned, I'm light (167cm, 57kg). 59yo and have been running seriously for 2 years now. My 5K PB is 20:30, 10K is 43-something, and HM is 1:40. Haven't run a FM yet but plan to do that within a year with the goal of 3:30. Also love trail running and would like to run an ultra (50K but maybe 100K at some point).
But at my age, PBs and stuff like that aren't what I'm really after. I'm mainly a serious recreational runner and I do log around 300 miles per month. It's just about the ride and getting that runner's high and being a connoisseur of fine running shoes! Haha.

Neo Vista wasn't too great for me as a midfoot/forefoot runner. I felt the most bounce and comfort when landing closer to the heel. The Prime X Strung 1 is still the best max cushion shoe I've ever ran in it fits my mechanics the best

Thanks for sharing your experience! I loved the Prime X 1 even though it was a bit dangerous jumping up and down the gutters.

I was going to buy the Neo Vista until I saw the price here in Australia, $320. That's nuts. Don't you think we are being ripped off? In Canada, it is only $230 CAD which is around $250 AUD. I wonder if the hype they've generated will be enough to sell the shoe. I hope not because then they will just keep charging these ridiculous prices. Clearly, the running community does not suffer from a 'cost of living' crisis. 🙂

The more I review the more I see this stuff going on...There are lots of price mismatches between countries. Even the same brands offer different models at big price mismatches here compared to overseas.
Some fall Australia's way but mostly it seems that us Aussies are getting screwed. In Australia, Nike, Asics and ON are actually pretty good in comparison but brands like HOKA and certain shoe models from the rest show big mismatches especially in the super trainer or super shoe category. The daily trainers are usually all pretty close.
      Thanks for the comment.

The Wave Rider 28 RRP in Aus $250 - in US it's $140
      Pegasus 41 in Aus is $200 - in US it's $140

It retails at Mizuno Japan for 22000 yen which is only $208 AUD! Might be worthwhile having a holiday in Japan. 🙂
