    Thanks for the shout out Tom. Sometime I think I need a smokenator and sometimes I think, why not just set up the snake, never need to add charcoal, and the Weber holds a perfect 250, and if I need moisture, I set a small pan down in the grill.. Still I might ask for one for Christmas.Nice cook Rock On!

      I'm a big fan of the snake method on a Weber as well Sal. Holds perfect temps, and plenty of charcoal for most any low and slow

      I think Santa just saw your post, Sal! He wants to know what size kettle you have on that performer!

      Thanks Sal I agree you can use either method, but when its cold out I don't want to sit there and stack coals because believe me in between shots I am inside warming up.

    Thomas my man. Those looked awesome. Three things that stood out to me besides the fine looking ribs. 1. You're an Royal Oak guy just like me, 2. Loved the tip for lighting the charcoal when you're not lighting a lot, and 3. The reflection of the American Flag in the grill lid. All around awesome cook brother!

    fe gave me a Smokenator for Christmas and I have used it quite a bit, but not with THESE results. I'll be using your technique on the next ribs I cook.

    Tom, I totally feel your pain man. I live in central IL, and this has been the coldest winter we've had in 32 years. I want to fire up my grill so bad, but I'm scared it'll crack in half. Winter is stupid!!! Those ribs look awesome.

    Man, those look good! I have a Smokenator and will try it tomorrow on the 4th. I remember those insanely cold days growing up in Crosby, MN! I'm in Kansas City now, which has its cold days now and then, but not like MN.

    Slippery ----- You are one crazy dud even being out doors in that temperature not to mention BBQing in it. Here in Yuma AZ it's much easier. In August we put our webber kettles out in the sun and can cook with no charcoal . We put a chunk of Misquite in with the ribbs , pour Ice water on it to keep from over cooking. Takes about 15 minutes to do a half dozen racks. :) ---- good video----- Mikey
    PS first liar doesn't have a chance

    Just getting around to some older videos. It may have been zero outside but you sure made those ribs look good. Nice color. You may do your best work in cold weather. lol I have not cooked in a couple weeks (at least not video) and I'm ready to fire something up now. Probably be 90 degrees in SC this weekend (Memorial Day)

    Those ribs looked like they were worth you nearly freezing to death for! Wish y'all would keep that cold weather to yourselves! This has been one of the coldest winters in a long time and we're not used to it down here!!

    • @SlipperyChickenBBQ
      @SlipperyChickenBBQ  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL...I am sorry it has been so cold for you down there, but I don't like it here either. I should have shown some of the in between scenes where I was running in side to warm up.

    Those look amazing! I have the smokenator and with the vents open I burn through charcoal in 3hrs... I use Kingsford competition... even with bottom vent almost closed and top vent barley open still only last 4hrs.. what's the trick? I use more charcoal then what it calls for as well

    I work inside an industrial size freezer that stays between 0 and -7 degrees F, so I can relate. But there is no snow inside the freezers, so you got me beat there. :)
    Ribs look fantastic. Did you use store bought BBQ sauce or homemade at the end?

    • @SlipperyChickenBBQ
      @SlipperyChickenBBQ  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rub and sauce I used in this video was homemade, but feel free to use what flavors you like. Thanks for watching.

    is it difficult to maintain temps in that environment? I live in california so I would have no idea lol.

  • @SaepeExpertus
    @SaepeExpertus 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    were able to hold the temp[ that you wanted. I find it hard to keep it at a certain temp on the weber. were you - or + 5 degrees on your temp

    • @SlipperyChickenBBQ
      @SlipperyChickenBBQ  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the Weber you can keep it with in a range around 25 deg adjust your vents in small increments.

  • @woosa42
    @woosa42 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    what was your temp running with both vents wide open?
