The fleece you use looks sooooo soft! I have 2 store bought kigus and I can't wear one bc the fleece is cheap and scratchy. Definitely considering investing in a custom kigu one of these days! 💜
Thanks Lili!! it IS SOFT it's joann's anti pill plush fleece! sometimes I get the anti pill from BigZ if they have a color that Joanns doesn't. but yea I try not to stoop to blizzard fleece since it's so much thinner and balls faster
I'm in progress of making my first one and it's a lot! There's a lot of supplies to get, but you can get them as you progress. You won't need needles and thread in the foam stage. If you really want to get started, all you need is the foam, scissors, and hot glue + gun. You can also try to save in supplies by getting second-hand. Ask relatives if they have sewing stuff that they don't really use etc. Making just a head is a really fun craft project so I recommend at least giving it a shot if you can muster up the starting money. The furs will probably be the most expensive part...
It looks amazing so far! You’ve been a huge inspiration to me and in April I’ll hopefully get the materials to make my own fursuit head. I’m really good at sewing but I’ll be issuing a base as I’m terrified to carve the foam and mess something up
Thanks for all of your tutorials! I'm currently making my fursuit head base. I'm ordering more foam to finish. I use your methods and create my own. Thanks again! You're awesome!

This is amazing, looking at the process of making a suit i realized how much patience it takes and i just don't know how some people manage to do these amazing pieces of art. I think this deserves more views and love
everything about this suit is so adorable from the eyes to the lil farm animals on the kigurumi lining!!! i do not consider myself a furry but this is far too cute! i can tell jasper has taken so long since, well, you know... the videos BUT STILL!!!! i cant wait to see the finished product 😻

yes yes! a kigurumi is a baggy style of onesie that originated in Japanese street fashion and then made its way here. they are much easier to sew than a fitted onesie! and the short legs lends itself well to the furry aesthetic since most of us draw our characters with shortened legs anyway haha!
hello I love your suits and I feel like this is my favorite suit out of all the suits I have ever seen I want to make a goat suit myself and I was wondering if you had any advice to make the face look more like a goat
thank you!!! if you want to make it look like a goat, make sure to use LOTS of picture references, make sure to study how the muzzle is shaped, how the cheeks are shaped, etc ! its all in the little details.
Love to see more of this project! Got questions though. Do you use some kind of low-stick masking tape since you're putting it directly on the foam and not using a clingwrap underneath? I noticed you used spring scissors for cutting the fur instead of fabric scissors which is genius honestly. Really looking forward to your kigurumi tutorial, with all your experience and skill, you deserve to make money out of it! Especially when you're putting your time and effort into making a whole tutorial for people to use.
Thank you so very much!!! I appreciate it!! 1. I use masking tape from Dollar Tree since duct tape is so much more sticky and rips the foam. the masking tape doesnt rip foam at all! 2. i love my spring scissors!! helps a bit with not getting as many hand cramps. worth it !!

just finished binge-watching the jasper progress series. some really cool stuff. got a couple questions, though- 1. is it possible to do gradients on a fursuit? if so, how difficult is it? 2. is it possible to make fursuits wear clothing, or do they tend to be too big? 3. do you ever reuse patterns between orders to save time? say like horns, spikes, same-species heads, etc.
aw glad youre liking the series! 1. gradients are possible either by sewing together multiple different fur colors close together, or by air brushing! I dont have an air brush tho and people usually dont wannna air brush bodysuits since they get worn out faster. 2. there are some clothing on top of fursuits but usually people just wear their clothes without the bodysuit if their character has clothes! no sense in putting another heat-trapping layer on top of the thick fur. you could buy clothes several sizes too big to fit on your suit tho. 3. i like to reuse the hand and feet patterns especially! since those are usually very much the same across many characters of the same species. i havent done 2 of a species head yet tho, so I dont really know if i'll be reusing any head shapes! i like the idea of custom drawing the head shape for each comm! so everyone is unique!
check out my Hand Sewing video , i explain the different stitch uses on fursuits! but in short, you should use either a backstitch or a blanket stitch.
Is it custom that kigu's have buttons, or can they have zippers. Is that a custom you offer? Also could you give me a tip, I am working on a stuffy which has individual belly scales. My idea is to cut the belly scales individually and sew them together, but that can take a long time. Thanks in advance if you can figure a easier way!
They commonly have buttons but zippers are absolutely doable too! ive done quite a few with zippers before. and actually that's the best way to the scales, i think, if youre talking about the horizontal scale panels. getting that seam in between each will help the look. you can't really make that easier
it really depends on how many pieces are in the order! heads take like 2-3 months, hands or feet or tails can be done in a month or less, bodies probably like 3-4 months. i've been working weekends on this suit for basically all of 2020 !!
